    Sculptress

I like Sculptress but please remember they are a food supplement and not a total food replacement. They are designed to be used as part of a roughly 1500cal diet and alongside a good amount of exercise. If you use them as designed they will help your muscles repair following exercise and may...

    Tesco/Asda or alternative

Mrspopi, you are at a very low weight and should not really be doing a vlcd. The meal replacements you are talking about here are not designed to be used as total food replacement. They are also likely to increase your problems with binging that you have mentioned previously. Please be careful...

    Hello, newbie here

Hi and welcome! I love Exante! The diet has suited me well, and although I am now on a 'with food' plan, the shakes have been great for me over Xmas while really ill!! Hope your packs arrive in time and good luck with it. I haven't done other VLCDs so can't compare, but to me the shakes taste...

But not in a way I would recommend:( Literally an hour after I finished work for the holidays I started with a cold, not too suprising as the little boy I look after had had a very nasty cold and been off nursery. Nevermind, I took some paracetamol and went up to my parents. I was busy...

    A break before hardcore dieting

If you really mean a healthy diet, then the sooner you start the better, your body will be far happier on healthy food than junk and won't ever need a break from that. However it worries me that you say 'hard core'. Your goal weight is extremely low, well underweight for your height (I saw on...

The Diary of a Secret Binge Eater

How many calories will 2 hours of exercise burn?

Depending on your weight/height/speed etc it will vary a lot. Does the machine have a milometer? A very basic rule of thumb is that you burn 100cals per mile on your feet - walking or running makes barely any difference - so working at a steady 3mph you would be burning approaching 600cals.

Hello! One week in and poorly ill

Hope youre feeling better now. I'm doing WS (3packs and a meal). I was doing 4packs as I am a fitness fanatic, but now the weather is so cold (my workouts are outdoors:eek:) I feel I need a hot meal!! My losses are okay, not amazing but I am not very overweight now either so I'm happy.

In ketosis after 2 days is that possible?

Well done you! I've managed it in under 36hrs, but I'm an obsessive exerciser - could probably do it in under 24 on a 3 workout day (not that I'd recommend that to any sane person, lol!!!)

Adding Carbs for Xmas Night Out

'Real' weight gain will depend on how many calories you consume rather than carbs, but you will get a temporary gain due to your body's glycogen stores refilling, but this is water, not fat, and will go again once you are back in ketosis.

    Working solution losses

How much are you averaging a week at the moment? If you are meticulous with your measurements on the food, then it should make less than a lb a week difference. If you are extremely carb-sensitive you may sts or seem to gain the first week, but this will just be coming out of ketosis, not fat.

Zumba can be done at your own intensity, so take it at your own pace and don't worry about the footwork. I wouldn't drink too much water during the class - if you are properly hydrated before you begin you should only need a couple of mouthfuls or you could end up feeling sick. I train on an...

The limit is about 20 litres a day, providing the water is drunk steadily not binged on. I've drunk this much for about 14years!! Its a complete misconception that we should restrict water intake, its only the speed that its drunk that causes problems (unless there are kidney problems etc).

Some news that might affect my diet!

If you enjoy TFR, why not try Exante - the bumper packs work out at £25 a week.
  83. mudbabe

    Will it work if.....

Its where you have a meal a day as well as the packs.
  84. mudbabe

    I'm so upset

Are they Zopiclone? They are known to trigger sleep-eating. I'd go back to the dr, there are alternatives that don't have that side effect. Don't worry too much about it, you will have had very little control over the eating if that is what you took. Just get back to it and keep going! Good luck.

  90. mudbabe

    Tough work out on TFR?...

300 isn't a huge amount for a workout, I regularly run 6miles+ and the rule of thumb is 100cal/mile. See what Exante say, and listen to your body, but I wouldn't personally worry - except to think I'd want to do it twice, lol!!!
  91. mudbabe

    Tough work out on TFR?...

I train hard - 2-3 x 1hr sessions a day. I'm just getting back in the swing, but I have 4 packs a day, half a shake either side of each workout, plus use vanilla through the day in coffee. How many carbs per day roughly to stay in ketosis??

People vary, but Exante has 18.5g per pack, so about 55g a day. How many Lipotrim packs do you have? Might be best to spread them out if you can by having 2 a day plus a meal of protein plus green/white veg so you dont come out, or get too used to 'real' food, lol!! Good luck!

I think you're the right size to wear them when you feel happy to wear them. Same with skinny jeans. Tho with jeans bear in mind they just don't fit everyone, regardless of how slim you are! I'm a 10 at present, usually a 6-8, and can't get away with them due to my, erm, 'athletic' legs!:p

If you are drinking steadily through the day then that water intake is perfectly safe - I drink 8-10litres a day. Water is heavy - a pint weighs roughly a pound. However it simply cannot affect fatloss negatively! We all weigh lighter in the morning than later in the day as we become...

    Maintenance...

I am planning on wholefood. In my case, thats my 'normal' diet anyway (I have never eaten 'junk' whilst training, only my comfort eating whilst injured!) and I find I can pretty much eat as much as I like that way without gaining weight. I also don't like processed foods really, nand try not to...

    Not in ketosis?

You can be in ketosis without it showing on the sticks, particularly if you don't test first thing in the morning and are drinking lots of water as this dilutes the keytones. Don't worry, if you're not hungry and are feeling cold then you're in!

I did the opposite to you and had mine reduced, but I do feel you are absolutely right to postpone just now. Being in a better place emotionally can only help you. These procedures are operations and can be painful, have a risk of infection, and (God forbid) go wrong. If you are emotionally...

'Interesting' response from Lipotrim regarding water.

I don't have any Lipotrim packs so can't comment specifically. I am doing Exante myself though so have them, and also a few packs of other makes I managed to get hold of. Yes, it does look like a lot of sugar, but these products are milk-based and cows milk is naturally high in sugars, we just...

'Interesting' response from Lipotrim regarding water.

I was, quite frankly, gobsmacked! I had sent the email as I was genuinely curious and had expected to be sent something with real scientific justification. It seems to me they say 'no more than 4litres' in much the same way lots of food packets say 'may contain nut traces' - not because there...

'Interesting' response from Lipotrim regarding water.

    Feeling Thirsty

Its not dangerous, providing its drunk steadily. An 8litre water 'binge' could be, but it works out at about 500ml per waking hour which is perfectly healthy, barring the circumstances previously mentioned. I'm not recommending a sudden jump from 2litres to 8, rather pointing out that...

    Feeling Thirsty

Its perfectly healthy. Healthy adult kidneys can process a constant supply of 900ml/hr of water, so around 20litres a day. I researched this as part of my degree and its overplayed too often imo. A healthy adult can process a continual supply of 900ml of water per hour, which equates to around 20litres a day. It can also process a larger amount in one go, but not continually, so 3litres in 2hrs would be okay so...

  195. mudbabe

Not planning on doing this but...

And its not only vitamins you would be lacking, its all the minerals, healthy fats etc. As far as I can tell, most VLCD packs are not technically low fat foods, as you need a certain amount of fat to be healthy, and I don't think you could manage that and keep under 600cals with food.

    TS or WS?

I was just wondering who is doing TS and who is adding food? Has anyone tried both and which have you found better? So far I have just had packs, but 4 a day due to lots of exercise, I just don't think I could manage with food as wll as I would want more than is allowable!

Oooh I know about the grumbly tummy bit! Our stomachs actually constantly make that noise but it usually gets muffled by food. When our stomachs are empty we hear it and thats why we equate it with hunger.

    what are your favourite flavours?

If I had to choose just one flavour I thinkit would be vanilla simply because its so practical. I use it a couple of teaspoons at a time in my coffee instead of milk, and last night I was feeling chilly so made it hot with a drop of ginger flavouring, lovely!

    what are your favourite flavours?

I only have the shakes and am extremely impressed with them all. I use half a pack at a time though with about 200ml of water so quite weak. I am used to protein shakes though and I think anything would be an improvment, lol!

anyone having 4 packs a day

I think I might end up having 5 packs today (or 4 and aprotein shake) as doing a 3rd workout later!!! Not ideal but for now I think I prefer having no real food at all to trying to restrict myself to a small amount.

    Day 1 on Exante

I'm doing YMCA ETM, really excited about it! Do you still teach? I'm not really someone to do things by halves so have thrown myself back into my full programme straight off! I was suprised and relieved that my body coped with it, including my ankle (I had done odds and ends while 'out' but...
