C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

Well done Jen! I find shiny new gear a great motivator too. So much so my drawer of sports/gym stuff barely closes (when I'm upto date with my laundry!) Might have a trip to the York outlet or the one at Castleford ~ though last time I was disheartened by the amount of designer stuff in a size...

Hello - I'm not sure how qualified I am to advise as am only just progressing into week 6 but just to say sometimes there has been benefit for me in repeating days but then there has alao been times where I've moved on abd surprised myself! My main reason for repeating days has been because of...

C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

Hey folks. Today I did wk5 day3, the 20mins to the best of my ability - a few staggering bits and a couple of pauses waiting to cross roads (&catching my breath!) but better than I thought I'd be. It has made me think though, that I really prefer the mix of run/walk and I'm wondering why...

C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

Good Morning all, I seem to have been blessed with 2 nice (weather-wise) days off. I wrapped up warm yesterday and got myself out and did W5d2 (2 lots of 8 min runs) which I achieved - but only just! I'm going to get out soon and repeat. That'll be me done, due to work until Monday at best...

C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

I do! In honesty though, because my work days are at least 12 hours long, I don't really consider going out when I finish work on many days at any time of year (in summer I may go out after my last shift, or after a day shift when my next shift is a night) I think where I live would be safe...

C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

Definitely try the park run. I did the Woodhouse one a few weeks ago and did so much better than I thought I would. I went on my own but there were loads of lovely friendly people encouraging me along on the last lap. I'll be doing it again on my next Sat off and hoping to improve my time.

C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

Elm, I think it was week 3 that made the difference for me so far and I did it 5 days as I didn't achieve it the first time I did it, and was extra chuffed that I could by the end. So, today I managed the week 5 day 1, without too much difficulty really - though I was ready to walk by the time...

C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

I think I'm going to try for week 5 day 1, which on the podcast I use (running in to shape) is 3 x 5 minute runs with intervals of 3 minute walks. I think my fitness has been maintained (if not improved) since I last tried it and I know I can do 5k in 30 mins (albeit a mix of running and...

C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

Hello, I've just been looking over the last few pages of this as motivation! I started C25K a couple of months back, but binned it at week 5, going back to my own style of unstructured walk, jog run regime as I just was not achieving the runs - often because of the gradients around where I...

    Syns in Fibresure?

Have you though of trying psyllium husks, you can get it as a powder which if you mixed it with squash would be a bit like the fibre sure - i think. It is made of insoluble fibre so has no nutritional value, so I'm sure it can't have syns. I take it as capsules to keep things moving.

I was advised to count sins from the pureed fruit in the list. Eating Normally When Reached Target

I think this is the theory behind the Johnson upday/down day diet  (which has a thread on here) That you eat what you want one day and then half as many cals the next. slow weight loss

I read something a little while ago which wasn't very scientific but I liked the idea that it was trying to put across. I'm not too thrilled with my CDC, she is definitely of the "old school" and is not playing by the rules of Cambridge - however I am in a catch 22 situation as there is no other counsellor near me and I would be worried about her finding out if I reported her to HO.
