    Extra Easy SP New Plan

I've only done a couple of days of SP but know that I couldn't do more than that as I enjoy carbs with my main meal - it doesn't seem like a proper dinner without! I had cauliflower "rice" with my curry which I quite enjoyed. Don't think I'll bother with SP again but just wanted to try it to...

Extra Easy How would a vegetarian do extra easy?

The Green and Original plans are in a separate book in your folder that you get given when you join up. No reason not to continue doing Green days. I do a mix of Green, Original (Red) and EE days. It's worked for me in the past so I'll continue doing it. Denise

SW Frozen Meals - Meatballs and Pasta

When I tried the sausages they reminded me a bit of bratwurst - don't know if that's what you thought as well. I don't generally use ready meals and make everything from scratch but bought a few to try. So far have only tried the sausages and the beef & veg crush one. I cooked the beef one in...

First weigh in monday, what to eat?

    38 syns. Seriously.

As others have said don't beat yourself up about this, just draw a line under it and start again. I think you need to plan for things you enjoy like chocolate & crisps that's what Syns are for and if you don't have them you won't stick to the plan because you'll feel deprived. You need to...

Extra Easy: Has anyone tried anything from this months mag?

I made the Mac cheese - looked a bit weird but tasted fine. Never had mac cheese with tom puree in it before and would leave it out if I do it again (won't be for a while as it made 6 nor 4 portions! so have 4 portions in the freezer). Denise

    Christmas Made Extra Easy Book

It's not really fair on target members for the book to only be available with a Countdown - perhaps they think those of us at target don't need new books! I'm not too concerned because I bought the book a couple of years ago and apparently the new one isn't much different. Denise
  46. J

    what's changed?

I think that if you're having the Smash pizza as part of a meal then it's free but if you want it to snack on then it should be synned - that's my take on it anyway. If you want something tasty and free to snack on then you can't beat a SW quiche or frittata. Denise

    Slow cooker chicken recipes

You can "roast" a chicken in the slow cooker. Just put 4 balls of foil in the bottom and stand the chicken on it. Cook for 8 hours on Low or 4 hours on High. The chicken will fall off the bone. The skin doesn't crisp so makes it really easy to not be tempted by it! Denise

    Green Days Help!!

Is the carrot & coriander soup a ready made one as you are counting it as HEB? If it's home made it will be free. Milk in your tea is HEA not HEB. You definitely need to have more syns. Denise
  108. J

How many syns do you have?

Mine varies, but it averages out over the week to 13-15 a day. I start with 105 at the beginning of the week and take off my syns as I go - generally use more at the weekend and less during the week and end up using between 85 - 100 most weeks. Denise
  109. J

What are you using your syns on today?

It's Friday so a couple of glasses of red - 12 syns and an Iceland fruit split lolly - 3 syns, so using all my syns today! Denise

Great idea for you. Alternatively could you prep/cook loads of dishes and then freeze? This is what i got in my fridge any ideas??

can anyone work out the syns in home baked banana and bran muffins

Just worked it out for you and it's about 60 for the whole lot so 5 syns each if you make 12 out of the batch. You could reduce the syns a bit by using less banana (2 bananas = 10 syns, 3 = 15). If you increase the eggs to 3 from 2 it will still be as moist, this would reduce each one to 4.5...

    Money

Don't consolidate - it's usually the worst thing you can do. As others have said get an appointment with the CAB, CCCS, PayPlan or one of the other free charities to see if they can help you. I think CCCS you can do a form online to see whether they can help you. Do NOT go to any company that...

    Scared of making the move

As Happy Holidays says everyone is different. SW say a healthy weight loss is between 1 and 2 lb a week. I lost my weight much more slowly, more like 1/2 to 1lb a week but I got to target in the end. Denise

Ever wish the ground would open up and swallow you?

My most embarrassing time must have been when my eldest was 3 (a very long time ago!). We were walking round Superdrug and I was 7 months pregnant and she was dawdling behind me when she suddenly shouted "Mum, what are these for?", when I turned round to look she was holding up a pack of D*rex...

    Whats for tea tonight?

A synfree chicken curry and rice - in fact have just eaten it and it was really tasty. Have got enough to freeze for another meal for OH and me, plus a portion for OH to take to work for his lunch tomorrow. So 5 portions using leftovers, veggies which needed using up and a few spices and some...

    SW Supermarket Range!!

I wouldn't use them all the time but I think they would be handy to take away on holiday when you're self catering, camping etc. You often don't have very good cooking facilities so could make life a bit easier. Denise

    Fish pie question?

Not sure if the flour stops it splitting but I just don't like the taste of "fake" cheese sauce. Denise
  224. J

    Almost there

I've struggled to stay within target range - I still keep losing! I'm now up to 2 or 3 HEAs and 3 or 4 HEBs but I find it hard to eat them all (As aren't as bad because I tend to have extra milk and sometimes cheese). It's much more difficult eating the extra Bs. I also make sure I have the...

    Fish pie question?

I've found the same thing when making cheese sauces, so now I prefer to syn some flour and butter and make it in the usual way. It doesn't work out that many syns when it's divided into 4-6 portions. Denise
  226. J

    What have you just eaten??

Had my brekkie, weetabix and milk, about 11 o'clock! Bit late but didn't fancy anything earlier but am getting a bit peckish so will probably have some leftover Spanish rice in about half hour. Denise

    Help

Try eating lots of SS foods and maybe dynorod soup. You could also up your superfree foods. Also drink plenty of water. Denise

please somebody in the 8's want to get in the 7's?? xx

I'm only 5' tall and my target weight is 7 stone 11 lb. I'm actually at 7 stone 8lb at the moment and trying to put on a couple of pounds as feel a bit too thin. The minimum weight SW will let you set target at is 7 stone 8lb at 5'1". Denise

    Ideas for supper

Bread isn't a HEA - it's a HEB. HEA is calcium based, ie milk or cheese; HEB is fibre based, ie bread, cereal etc Denise
  230. J

    How to choose which plan?

I generally do EE but do find I need more than 1 HEA so usually syn an extra 250ml of milk - also helps to make sure I have enough syns every day, as I don't eat choc, crisps etc. Now I'm at target I don't need to syn the extra milk as I have had to increase my HEAs and HEBs to a total of 6...

    A major, major break through.

My OH eats quorn (but without know it!):D He really likes his "meat and 2 veg" really but doesn't seem to realise that we often have quorn without him knowing!!! Denise

does anyone pay weekly and not stay to group

I always stay to IT, whether it's a loss or gain. We get people passing on good tips, recipes etc. A group of us usually go the cafe over the road from group to have lunch - being good we usually have jacket pot or ham sandwich on wholemeal, not butter but EL Mayo! Denise

    Cooking with wine

I frequently use wine in cooking and just syn it per portion by dividing the syns by 4 (assuming making 4 portions!). Denise
  235. J

    buying yogurts

I've frozen yoghurts in the past and found they needed a good stir once defrosted. However I haven't frozen them since starting SW because Muller Lights are usually on offer somewhere most of the time!!! Denise
  236. J

some1 help me find a plain tasting nat yog???

No reason at all except that you will need to syn it if it isn't fat free. I often syn things in my meals to make them tastier. For example I prefer to make a proper white sauce and syn the milk and flour, rather than making the SW variety which neither my OH or me particularly like. Denise
  237. J

    whats your favourite meal

My favourite is Capricorn's Spanish rice (paella with chicken & chorizo). It's brilliant. Denise

    Alcohol!!

Because I like a drink or three at the weekend I deliberately chose a Thursday for WI (only a choice of Monday or Thursday where I live!). I don't think the wine is too big a problem for weight loss as long as you stay within syns. I was doing EE all the time and weight loss was about 1/2lb -...

Anyone aged 50+ had great success?

I am 59 and reached target in February having lost just over 1.5 stone and now weigh 7st 8lb (WI this morning). I'm really short and small boned so it's as far as I plan to go, even though from 18 - 35+ I weighed no more than 6st 7lb! Definitely don't want to go there again - I must have...

    Over synned

Just draw a line under it and get back on plan. You know what you have eaten (well done for continuing to count - don't think many would have bothered!) so won't be surprised at a gain. Good luck for WI tonight. Denise

Extra Easy Newbies!! Help and Guidance please???

I think you probably need to up your superfrees and make sure you are having at least 1/3 with every meal. You also need to be drinking plenty of water, at least 2 litres each a day plus extra for you as you do quite a bit of exercise. It might be worth cutting out bananas for a week or two...

    Fussy Eaters?

It would be easier to advise you if we knew what you do eat rather than what you don't. What plan are you following? from your post it looks as though it might need to be green where you can get your protein from quorn, beans and pulses plus whatever fruit and veg you do actually eat. Denise

Ideas on recipes for Scallops please!

I often freeze scallops but only if they are completely fresh, which I often buy when I go to France where they open the shells and put the scallops in a bag. I'm fortunate that we holiday in a motorhome with a reasonable size freezer so get them into the freezer really quickly after buying...

Anyone Maintaining Who Wants Help And Mutual Support To Stay Put?

Sorry not to have replied before but have been off line for a few days. Wish I could just let my body find it's own natural level but I'm fairly close to the minimum allowed by SW and that is too low for me now that I'm an "older" lady! I just look bony now. Denise

What can I do with rhubarb??

You can have stewed rhubarb as an HEB, not sure of the amount. If you want to do a crumble you'll need to syn it. Denise

Anyone Maintaining Who Wants Help And Mutual Support To Stay Put?

Struggling to stay at target I am really struggling to stay within target and have now dropped out of the bottom end again. I've tried upping HEAs and HEBs to 4 of each and having about 20 syns a day and for some reason am still losing! I can't keep that amount of eating up as I feel really...

Frylight is better if you want synfree, personally I tend to use olive oil and use it a HEB or syn it. Denise

    Green Days Question

I generally do EE but have some green days. When I have the green days my weight loss seems to be better than when I do all EE. So I'd say give Green a try and see how it works for you because everyone is different. Denise
  250. J

    Portion Sizes

Sounds to me that you are doing Green, is that right? If so, pasta isn't limited you just have what you want but you need to stop once you're full. It might be better if you dish up less and then if you're still hungry go back for more. If there are leftovers you can always use the cold pasta...
