    I think WW is much easier than SW and much easier to eat on the run. I think you need a shop guide and an eating out guide thats all the tools you need. If you have a smart phone there is an app called ultimate weight watcher diary its a red heart with a white cross in it.

    Don't worry as Bevsy says you can weigh different every day, I am a serial weigher and I have found out over time that you can lose 3lb in just one day. Different scales weigh differently too my scales are a about 5lb heavier than the ones at class. So don't give up wait until class to see how u do.

    VLCD are ok for a quick fix but if you go back to normal eating you will put the weight back on. You cant keep to those diets in the long run. That's why diets like WW are better for the long term as they can be maintained for life.

    The jacket potato thing is a common problem, if you are cooking it yourself you count it as normal potoes( 1PP per 50g) the one on esource may have been cooked weight.
