    slow cookery recipes

Selina I have only just started using mine too, haven't been overly brave with it yet but I made a lovely root vegetable stew thing yesterday with swedes, carrots, tatties and onions with chicken stock. Nothing mega exciting but it was a lovely comforting bowl of (mostly) superfree bellyfiller :)

*Almost SYN-FREE* home-made soft cheese - in any flavour you like!

This looks awesome, you're so clever Ermintrude! Now not to be a Buzz Killington, but has anyone double-checked this with their SW leader? I might have missed if someone has said they have, but I just want to make sure before I go crazy and start eating it by the bowl :D

    Gaining when starting exercise

I never knew that!! I really don't drink enough fluids ("I'm just not a thirsty person" should be on my headstone) and last time I did SW I always gained the weeks I did loads of exercise so stopped bothering after a while. But I want to start back to the gym again for general fitness, I'm...

    Common SW misconceptions put right.

This is a great way to remind myself to stick to what I'm told and not make up my own versions of SW rules :D

    Quark recipes

I actually find myself spreading on my HexB brown toast in the mornings! It's nice and I can pretend it's Philadelphia :) I also make a SW-friendly broccoli soup and blend a tub of Quark through, makes it a bit more rich. Quark is great once you get your head round all the different things you...

    SW pub menu in Lincolnshire!

I have just stumbled across a possible gem for anyone living in the Lincolnshire area: apparently the Red Lion pub in Ruskington has a SW syn-free menu! Now I'm not sure how up to date the page is but they advertise a syn-free lunch deal with 2 courses for £5, and there's also a SW friendly Xmas...

    Snack ideas?

Big jars of gherkins! When I get the late-evening snack attack I throw a few into a bowl and munch away, they are free and will cure any salt cravings (I don't really have a sweet tooth). Mmmm I do love my pickles :D

How Slimming World Works - Advice for Newbies (Updated for 2015)

I've just restarted SW after a break of being very bad, I've had half a stone creep back on so I'm back on the wagon! I just wanted to say, I did SW for 5 months last year with my flatmate, and we found that if we stuck 100% to the plan Mon-Fri, filled up on lots of superfree foods and only used...

    Interesting article on Emotional eating

To be fair, although I don't necessarily agree with the phrase "diets don't work", I can see how he would perceive that. Of course diets work, otherwise we wouldn't bother with them. However, it doesn't matter how much weight we lose, there will always be that little devil on your shoulder that...

I got a six-pack of Mullerlights in Lidl for £1.65 thinking "ooh, bargain" and then walked next door to Tesco and saw them for £1.48 lol, I know it's only 17p difference but it was still annoying :D
