Observation re exercise & APs, thoughts?

Hmm I agree - my HR was down to 120 within a couple of mins, & despite looking regularly, I never noticed my HR go over 200, so I think it may have been during the last 1m30s when I sprinted (which I don't normally do). Lots of luck for tomorrow, I'd love to hear how it went! Xx

Observation re exercise & APs, thoughts?

I think I'm going to become obsessed with this monitor!! I've just done 5.12km in 35 mins (3 mins better than last wk!). My max heart rate should be approx 190bpm, making my 80%+ 144bpm. I've just checked the monitor, my average for the whole run was 185, & my max was 219!!! Is that bad? When...

Observation re exercise & APs, thoughts?

Ok so I convinced the husband, the HRM was delivered today :D In fact he even used it before I did! Cheeky.... Anyway his MHR worked out at 182 but his average for the whole run (40 mins) was 186, & his max was 198!!! I've since Googled & apparently this is fine for a fit & healthy person to...

    Jacket vs other cooked potatoes

No no no! Jackets aren't more! There's another thread from earlier today, but the long & short of it is that you need to weigh them raw. If you boil a 200g (4pp) potato, it'll still be close on 200g when cooked, whereas if you bake a 200g potato, the water will evaporate, and when cooked it...

    having trouble eating my points

Maybe having higher point meats, like steak, or pork, or another thought is fish? I wonder if your GP surgery or local pct have a dietitian you could talk to, esp as this is not particularly short term... Sounds like you're having a rough time sweetie, hope you're better soon xxx
  13. JuicyMango

    Potato and potato

Oh I see, really you needed to weigh the whole lot to know if the pp's were accurate, but I don't think mash changes much anyway from it's raw state.... Xx
  14. JuicyMango

    Potato and potato

Ah cool :) Just out of interest, how much did it weigh after cooking?

I thought it was because they are starchy veg. Im sure it is....
  17. JuicyMango

    Potato and potato

Yep, weigh when mashed, then come back & post the difference (I'll be interested to know) but basically, if you have a quarter of what's in the pan (weight-wise), you're having a quarter of 16pp (don't forget to point any milk or butter) xx
  18. JuicyMango

    Potato and potato

Yep, as long as you're weighing it after it's been cooked too, so you know you're having, say, 25% of the whole 19pp, like if it went up to 1kg after cooking, 400g would be 8pp. Xx
  19. JuicyMango

    Potato and potato

Yes but you already know the pps for the full pan, so regardless of what it weighs after cooking, you're still only taking a percentage. Umm, ok so let's say it all weighs 1kg before cooking & comes to 32pps. After cooking it might weigh 1.2kg, but the pps are still the same, but because you've...
  20. JuicyMango

    Potato and potato

Personally, I point the potato, milk & butter prior to cooking, so I have a pp value for the whole panful, say 20pps, then I weigh the whole lot after, and if I have a quarter of what's there, it's easy to work out the pps. Its a bit fiddly but I need to know exactly how many pps I'm eating. I...

    Potato and potato

300g of boiled potato holds more water and less actual potato than 300g baked potato. Simple way to solve this, weigh the pots before you cook them. A potato is a potato is a potato, regardless of the type, so the precooked weight, and therefore the pp's will be accurate. My leader checked...

Observation re exercise & APs, thoughts?

Hmm yeah I was thinking about level of effort this afternoon actually, I guess it's all about intensity, as I probably took 40 mins to do a 3k run the first time I ever ran and God that was soooo hard! Crooked Smile, according to WW, 25 mins of running is 4 AP & 55 mins is 9 AP, just FYI. I...

    OMG!

Fantastic UK-D! What a lush surprise! I'm currently about 9lb from goal (which is 9st 7lb) and I'm a tight 12. I know I look best in a 12 else I lose all my curves, so i guess a very comfortable 12 is my ideal size :) Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins

    points for tortilla wrap

Oh maybe not - 2 slices of bread is 2.5pts and I used to have a wrap as it was the same or lower, but it isn't in my old food list, which surprises me - sorry!

    Propoints and potatoes

You literally just weigh it before you cook it, in both scenarios, to give the accurate pp values. I don't point frylight so again, I would just weigh the spud before cooking. Does that make sense? And MTMonster is right, if you weigh a jacket spud raw, then weigh again when cooked using the...

    'Best' food from a chinese?

Rice is 1pp per 10g dried weight, not sure how that would convert though! Possibly 9 or 10pp thinking about the quantity...

    Propoints and potatoes

I agree with leighforty - and I just had a look at the app, you need to go to potatoes, old (or new), raw, then it gives you the weight option. I think it's more precise to weigh them raw *nods* Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins

    10.5lb off in one week????

Lol @ Kieragh!! I can't wait either - I drove past her yesterday and very nearly pulled the car over to pounce on her for her dieting tips, haha!! She may well have thought I was a bit of a stalker though so thought better of it! I do remember that she said she used to eat lots of bread & that...

What are you doing for Valentine's Day?

We don't do pressies for V day, & we've got 2 little ladies so we always end up making the dining room all romantic, candles, decoration etc & always cook a treat meal. Tonight it's pink champagne, lamb shanks cooked in red wine, balsamic & garlic, with creamy mash & lots of greens & peas...

    Who's Loving Zumba!!!!

I'm Zumba-ing twice a week at the mo and I absolutely love it!! Our classes are huge, 120ish people, and she's still having to add more classes to the schedule! The benefit of having that many people though is that it's only £2.50 a class if 2 places are booked together, bargain!! I have to...

Have many WWers gone back to the discover plan?

My friend lost 2stone very easily back last Autumn, lost about 7lb under her goal weight, put 5 of it on over Xmas, then really got to grips with PP. Since then, despite exercising loads and never going over her daily (sometimes using some of her weekly) she has sts. This week was the final...

    10.5lb off in one week????

Haha!! Those are the 2 very comments my husband made, lol! Lord only knows how she did it, esp being so small already, maybe she had eaten & drunk alot the day she joined, getting rid of all the rubbish, and maybe she did have heavy clothes on, but she'd have had to have only eaten 0pp soup all...

Hi everyone! I've got some friends over tonight who are adamant that they want a takeaway, & I figure Chinese is probably the best of a bad bunch? Can anyone tell me what the lowest pp foods are? Thanks in advance!! x
