Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

Hello everyone I haven't posted on here at all since february by the looks of it. I'm busy at work trying to keep the business afloat through the recession and trying to see as much of the kids as I can. I've done a bit of lurking though and so pleased to see you're all trucking on. I've been...

I love The Biggest Loser programme

I love this programme. i just finished watching series 6 from the states and i must say it was the worst series. lots of unnecessary behaviour that wasn't far off bullying. right person won in the end but it removed the focus off the weight loss and on to arguing and game playing and...

Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

when i was mid 20s i lost loads of weight and became obsessed with going to the gym. Went down from 13st to just below 10st and went from a large 14 to a 12. but at 10st i was definitely a 12, no lower. this is what I've based my goal weight on, the fact that i could just about squeeze in to...

Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

just weighed in - down another 3lb this week. hoorah! I know it'll slow down soo but it's lovely whilst it stays. I put my boots on yesterday and was shocked at how easily they went on. normally i have to force them slightly. That was fantastic as it was the first time it had made any...

Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

Hello! I don't like toasted teacakes - sorry. our Morrisons is out of most bread stuffs that they don't bake in house. nightmare that two months ago i wouldn't even have noticed! i'm hoping for an entire week at work this week - no ruddy snow days. and indeed a filled up oil tank. lived in...

Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

Think I might be talking about weight watchers too much. my youngest asked for toast for breakfast. my eldest said "that's too many points". youngest turned six last week, eldest is 8. Jeez, they soak stuff up like a sponge. i'm doing ok, but the weather does make me want to eat. we ran...

    13 stone - 5 foot 1

it doesn't sound like the answer that Weight Watchers would give you. why don't you have a look at the sticky at the top of the page which gives you the questionnaire to work your points out. i've used all my points and have lost a decent amount each week. best of luck :)

Thanks for your message. kind of you to reply when i've not been here much. we got to work today and the kids got to school but the weather man tells me that we might get snowed in again! someone sent us Hotel Chocolat chocolates today. Nice gift but dreadful for me. there's no info on...

Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

it's a whole week since i've been here. i'm embarrassed. was supposed to be in birmingham today but the weather here has been worse today than yesterday and we've been holed up at home. we live at the end of a lane and no one's been up it or down it in 24 hours! The school's been shut and...

Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

Thanks everyone - had a bit of a strange day at work which stopped me obsessing over weight and concentrating on ensuring the business is OK even with all this depressing credit crunch stuff. It's a strange time to be self employed - mind you it's a strange time to be an employee too.

    New to Weight watchers

If you've got a fair bit to lose though, it does seem that you can lose more than 1lb a week. I lost two my first week but five the fourth so honestly I wouldn't worry - just keep going. sarah

    anyone else have this trouble

there's someone on here who starts the day in the evening so that her evening meal is the first meal of her ww day. Would that help? Or maybe more distractions in the evening would help? Exercise machine should help or a bath? If you're busy during the day, maybe that's why you don't eat...

Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

Thanks :) I'm pretty sure i'm going to give up going. I think i'd like to get the scales and the points do-dah so might buy those next week then send her a text (actually get eldest daughter to write text, i am rubbish with phones) to say that I'll go back if I have trouble sticking to it at...

Feeling miserable, some positive vibes would be grateful received :)

i'm really not one to help - i struggle with my weight and it's far far higher than yours, plus i get a lot more points so i've never tried to keep to those low numbers. All i'd say though is that you've got to find a balance between enjoying life and keeping your weight down. i know some...

the only time i've cooked with sweet potato was when i was making baby food. i'll have to try them. i've never had butternut squash either. it sounds like you've got yourself really focused again - I'm a bit of a chocolate obsessive and to be honest it's why i'm like this now :( I try to...

Saree's diary - run out of crumpets :(

During my sneaky pre-weigh peak at the scales it would appear that i'm approaching having lost my first stone. it's hard to imagine that this diet will work but when you think about it sensibly, of course it will. I've decided that we should do an exhibition in Harrogate in July at work. Big...

hello i am sorry that i've been a touch absent with out leave. It's hard to be here, concentrate on my diet and work full time, see the kids and everything else. i'm not complaining, just saying that other things get higher than sitting down and posting here. i often come to read but only...

I'm starting to quite enjoy myself. I'm now at the time when we gave up last year and i'm not giving up any time soon so that makes me feel better. I went to a class in my local town on wednesday so am going to do it with her rather than on my own i think. I found her a little weird - very...

I used to go to slimming world - started when my little one, who's now nearly six was six weeks old. I went in the morning and i loved the people as they were mostly older and really good fun - loved seeing the same people each week and they loved seeing the baby too. once i stopped...

    Would WW accept me??

I think it's incredibly sensible to start to think about maintenance. I have got down to near goal about three times in the last 10 - 15 years and in this time, it has been the maintenance that's been the problem. I got down to within 2 stone of goal and then got bored, stopped thinking about...

    Homemade lasagne

it's going to vary a lot isn't it? Depending on how much cheese sauce you use and what sort of cheese. Plus how much meat and how much pasta per portion. i suppose all you could do was to make a rough guess and use that but it's very unscientific!

Jess's Diary - Weighed in a day early..

I didn't know it was a trusted accent. I have a Geordie accent that no one in Newcastle can here but down here I'm told how incredibly strong it is and how come I haven't lost it. When I go back people say ooh but you've lost your accent. Can't win! I thought they put call centres up north...

I'm home with the kids. The sandwich man went bust so there's absolutely zero temptation at work. It's kind of good and bad. Obviously very sad for the sandwich man - nice bloke - but unless you drive for 10 minutes you can't get to any sort of shop so I have no choice than to eat what I take...

Thank you :) I'm originally from Newcastle too so I'm extra grateful for your assistance. I need to get it to the point where's it's a habit. When I lived in Newcastle i used to walk for miles every day which kept my weight down without me having to think about it. Now, I drive everywhere...

Isn't it awful. Whole year later and I'm back to start again and what's more I'm five pounds heavier. Oh the shame. Honestly, I really mean it this time. How weak does that sound. Last year, I was moving house, moving unit, moving everything. This year everything is staying the same so...

well, things gone a touch wrong here! there's no phone line at the new house so therefore no broadband! haven't found the scales yet so can't weigh myself yet. House is totally upside down but we'll get there. Not lost but certainly not around much - i'll come back soon :)

Yay, 4lbs down this week. total of 10 in a fortnight. Long may it continue but it'll calm down from now I would imagine. This moving thing isn't easy. we're in day two of it today. Yesterday was hard hard hard. I had a woman coming to see me at noon. she was late and i couldn't work out...

Here we are! New diary, new start, new house, new unit. Jeez new everything (well apart from the kids, husband and a houseful of things :)) Anyway, weight in tomorrow and we'll see whether we can adjust that ticker downward. we really should be able to as I've been within my points all week...

    Anybody out there?!

I used to find nap times just so important for my own sanity. If they wake up still grumpy, rocking in the corner is the only thing to do. My youngest was nagging me yesterday to play Junior Scrabble and suggested i was tied to the sofa. I don't think she quite understands that sometimes I...

Thanks everyone. Got lots of reading here, I'll have to sit down tonight and inwardly digest it all. I'm so busy at work and then with the move as well its going to be a tough week. As long as there is decent food in the fridge i should be alright. not sure if there's not mind and the first...

    Weigh Day/Treat Day question!

How many points do you save up for it? I looked up a website with point for takeaways and some indian food came up with 22 points before you had anything with it. I only get 26 in a day so i'd have to do some serious saving! Perhaps Indian food isn't an option? living without it for hte rest...

    How many points

I'm sorry, it won't let me check without amending me. i get 26 per day but as i'm only just under 17 stone (same age as you) i'm not sure that helps much. I also think that height may have an impact but i'm not sure. Hopefully some one will be along shortly who knows.

Wow, what lovely responses and so quickly. Thank you for a lovely warm welcome. It could be that i'm doing ok because its so early. its probably that and it'll get harder once the 'newness' wears off. like everyone here i bet, i've tried every diet there is from Rosemary Conley, to Slimming...

    De-lurking to say hello

Hi I've struggled with my weight since I was 18. I'm now 36 and in that time have lost / gained several times. I'm now at my heaviest ever and feel quite ashamed of it. Its hampering my self confidence and repressing my naturally outgoing nature so it needs sorting. however, i don't want to...
