    Unpaid SW Consultants?

I am a paying member and I really do not mind that my shared knowledge may benefit people who are not attending groups/are not online members. At the end of the day, SW is not cheap, ok, not super expensive either, but people on a very low budget would certainly feel the pinch. I believe in...

I usually add freshly chopped mint leaves, salt, pepper, sweetener and a little bit of white wine vinegar (all to taste) for a syn-free mint yogurt dressing. 7 lbs off this week - SEVEN!! I just cannot believe it! I have done nothing different apart from being a lot more active and have been for a good 10 miles worth of walks last week. Or maybe it's just hormones? I don't know and I don't care right now - SO HAPPY!!! :D

What IS it about Slimming World?

The superfree foods are amazing and the key, I think. I can pretty much fill up on fruit and veg without any guilt at all. For me it works, because I don't ever feel starved or deprived on the plan, I know for a fact I start rebelling when I feel I deprive myself - still a big child :D It's...

Slimming World Magazine...Is it just me?

Oh, don't get me wrong, I see your point and I can only talk subjectively, but just losing weight will not make a completely miserable person and chirpy and happy one. Slimming World Magazine...Is it just me?

That really gave me a proper belly laugh! Loved that comment. But back to the point, although only back at the beginning of the journey, I never felt I had to hide away when I was bigger. Portion Size Advice

When I sit down for my meals, I usually eat the superfree foods first (if possible), that takes the edge of my hunger. In addition, I bought smaller plates and never overfill a plate. A message to drinkers - STOP

TBH, having the odd night out on the drink does not make anyone an alcoholic. If someone is indeed an alcoholic, I guess they'd have different problems than losing weight. I am pretty much teetotal when on SW, however, I refuse to let any diet completely rule my life. It's too short for that...

  32. hexe

    Is being overweight the norm?

TBH, as long as healthy foods - such as fruit, veg, lean meat,...... are so much more expensive than all the processed cr*p, people will tend to make the unhealthier, but cheaper choice. In addition, I know many young (and even older) people who can't even cook a simple meal, to the extend that...

    Aspartame Poisoning - My Story

For everybody who is not allergic, moderation is the key. I am not particularly keen on artificial sweeteners (don't like the aftertaste), but I find them hard to avoid when on SW. I mainly use agave nectar (synned) and erythritol (great, but sooo expensive), but again, all in moderation. If...

Agreed, it also says a lot about our, in large parts broken, society. Holiday in Greece (and food)

Hi all We have just booked to spend a week in Crete next month :family2: Now I am not intending following SW too religiously whilst on holiday, however I don't want to come home having piled on loads and loads. Yep, I am aware of syns in alcohol , but has anybody got some low syn eating...

    Problems with son any advice

Unfortunately there is no quick fix for depression. Imagine it as a vicious circle, where thoughts, behaviour, feelings and actions all interact. There are some fab websites of Dr Williams and his 5 areas approach (this CBT approach is used by primary care mh teams a lot) where you might find...

    Over synned

I am not as brave as you to add my Easter weekend food and drink fest up. :) Been away with the extended family and yes, I guess I would be heading towards your syns count (if I was to work it out). BUT, I enjoyed every minute of it and since I got back home, I strictly went back on SW plan...

    feeling bloated

I find herbal remedies, such as fennel or peppermint tea (or peppermint oil) helpful. I remember feeling bloated a lot when I first started SW, but it soon eased off.

    I am very scared !

Sue, please, please, get yourself admitted via A & E. If you don't want that, would coming to UK be an option? Should be ok with an EHIC card. I would be more than happy to accommodate you and your husband and we have got some very good medical units locally. I will be away over the holidays...

    I am very scared !

What can I say? I am pretty much stuck for words that you are still waiting. If you were in UK I would advise to get yourself admitted, 'cause when you are an inpatient you normally get priority. What a mess! I really feel for you. Good luck, Sue, you never know, maybe tomorrow will bring the...

    clairvoyant/psychics

Hi ya There are many "clairvoyants" who will cold read you and you will waste (a lot) of money on their "service". They will cleverly fish for information during small talk, just to present it back to you. Cold reading is actually an art many of them exercise to perfection, as the client...

    Gallstones :(

Yep, me too. I had my gall bladder removed in 1999. And if I had to make the choice again, I would certainly got for the op again. Although I had colics to horrible extends, I kept putting the op off for more than two years. In the end I had no other choice than having it done asap - and in...

    I am very scared !

Hi Sue I guess the gloves need to be off tomorrow. The way they keep you hanging on is bad practice. Going through the equivalent of PALS is a good idea, too. You will be in my thoughts tomorrow and I hope that you'll be able to give us some good news very, very soon. Stay strong. Loads of...

Has anyone else got ugly legs...

Yep, me too. Always hated my legs, especially knees and thighs. My knees are full of operation scars and they are also a bit "knobbly". My thighs have always been on the big side, although I would like to believe it's mainly still muscle from doing a lot and lot of sport in the past. ;) But...

    crazy dog!

I agree with that. It sounds like there may be concerns regarding the welfare of that animal. I have got two dogs and yes, they occasionally do bark, however, it should not be a constant thing, not good for the dog, the neighbours or a responsible (!) owner.

    complaints

At the end of the day, you are the customer and you pay for the service. Therefore you can expect a service that is up to standard (at least). I know that complaining can be a bit daunting, but if nobody says anything how would they know and take steps to improve? Jill xx

Feed a cold and starve a fever. True or not ??

Chicken soup is fab food when you caught a cold. Lots of fresh fruit and veg (vitamins) and most importantly, keep well hydrated. Not sure about this "feed a cold and starve a fever" thing, probably on the same line as my nana's recommendation to drink warmed up beer when suffering a cold. Yuk! LOL

They are absolutely georgeous, I am not surprised you find it hard to part from them, or any other horse. Fat free fromage frias?

I use it as a dessert, either with fresh fruit or on it's own with a little sweetener. I also put it on crackerbread with jam on top. It's brilliant as a cooking ingredient for many sauces and currys, yummy :)

    Fat free fromage frias?

I know that there is an old thread, claiming that Morrison's Eat Smart FF Natural Fromage Frais has syns.
