    Monday weigh in

I started Slimming World last Monday. I am hoping for a slow and steady weight loss. I lost 4stones a couple of years ago on LL and have put a stone plus back on. I never got to my target weight so am hoping to lose 3 stones over the next year and change my lifestyle. Have loved the food and...

    Can someone help please?

Thanks for that, Goodthings, I hope to follow her success. I think it is especially important to me as my brother has flown over from Australia and believe me, although I never deviated once when I last did LL, despite all the terrible things that were happening, I simply don't want my weight...

    Lighter Life Total

Don't worry too much Claire. You have lost a wonderful amount of weight so far and your body might just be adjusting to the weight loss.Good that you measured yourself as you have lost inches rather than pounds. Brilliant! But above all I think making sure that you keep up your fluids is really...

    Can someone help please?

Thanks Rachel. I think that is what I intend to do. I am never struggling with sitting watching others eat so hopefully with everyone's encouragement and support, I shall get straight back on to the programme. I intend to avoid carbs and just eat either white meat or fish and probably avoid...

    Can someone help please?

Thanks Claire for your response. It is great to be able to do that when you are doing the diet. I did it too when I did it first time. But it isn't my mum's birthday, it is mine. It is my party and my brother has travelled half-way around the world to share a lunch in my honour. I can't...

    Can someone help please?

3 years ago I lost just under 5 stone on LL and was thrilled to bits. I did not reach my goal or do maintenance as my husband died and it was all too much to manage. I have returned to LL once before and lost the stone and a half which I had gained and now I am back for the 3rd time trying to...

What are you eating as your main meal?

Great news Anna. I hope it works for you and you enjoy it. Very little is given to you about recipes. They say that as it is so new they will be adding to it as time goes by - I think they could have done more to start with!!! The meetings are an hour long and go over a lot of the basic...

What are you eating as your main meal?

Never mind, it is working for you and you are doing well, so no point in changing things. I lost 3 lbs this week so I am very pleased.

What are you eating as your main meal?

I have eaten loads of chicken and prawn salad, chicken stirfry, chicken curry, lentil and veg curry and bolognaise sauce, (pity about no pasta! HA HA!). I had a lovely mushroom omelette the other day and even made a breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs. Any other suggestions?

Feeling yuk! What can I take?

I am streaming with cold and have a horrible cough. Is there anything I can take which will make me feel reasonably human again and not knock me out of ketosis?

What are you eating as your main meal?

I thought I would start this thread so we can share ideas and learn from one another. I have been buying the huge reduced Hondurian prawns from Sainsburys and eaten loads this week. I have had them in a salad, in a home-made tomato sauce (made with chopped onion and garlice and a tin of...

I agree. Don't look at the past. You are doing something positive, you will never be that size again and you will feel proud of what you achieve. hang on in there. It is a great diet and very successful. I lost nearly 5 stones in about 4 months so you can expect to lose at a similar rate as...

    Possible gallstones :(

Interested to read this thread. After completing RTM last year I experienced pain so severe that I was hospitalised for 24 hours! Having had 2 children I can guarantee that the pain is worse than CB!! However when I was scanned a week later my gall bladder was inflammed but no stones!! The...

Lighter Life Lite - some thoughts

With due respect (and thank you for your post) I have never said anything about speaking about food. It wasn't what was on my mind when I posted originally. I was interested in good old-fashioned support in the form of "Come on, you can do it!" -stuff. This whole thing about discussing food...

Lighter Life Lite - some thoughts

Thank you everyone for replying and especially to Blonde Logic who was kind to me when I was doing LL and dealing with the death of my husband. Good luck to everyone. I thought that LL would provide me with the essentials to get to where I wanted to be and it did. But living in the world...

Lighter Life Lite - some thoughts

Thanks again for replying and also for asking the mods for help. I quite agree about the food issues but I don't know if it is strictly necessary to discuss food when talking about any diet. As you say, it is not about food by and large. The trouble is that I am still not convinced that...

Lighter Life Lite - some thoughts

Thanks for your reply. I agree with everything that you suggest. In the other threads, there were similar suggestions but they don't appear to have been acted on. :o I know some people started the plan on 24th November so hopefully there are some people with about 6 weeks' experience of it...

Lighter Life Lite - some thoughts

I am returning to LL tomorrow to try and lose the stone and a half which I have put on since last May and also to try and lose another stone - making my total target weight-loss 35lbs. Initially I lost 83 lbs which I was and still am very proud of especially as during that time I was nursing...

    What to do?

New day, new start! Thanks for your helpful and supportive replies. Good to get a sense of perspective on it all. Now I need to just get on with it as I have for the last 14 weeks. Katie, I think you are right about the 100 days and mind set. But I still have 28 more days to go and I need...

    What to do?

Right, cheesecake in the bin. I asked my son (aged 22) to help me to clear out the fridge of anything that will tempt me. He was glad to oblige but helped himself to a serving of almost everything before he did! (The joys of being a rugby player and very fit as well as having an enormous...

    What to do?

If I tell you that I am nursing my terminally ill husband, that will answer the question. He is deteriorating rapidly and life is very stressful. I have lost all this weight despite the situation and am determined that I shan't go back to my old ways but now I am feeling very insecure about...

    What to do?

UP to now I have been very focused and strict with myself on the Lighter Life diet. I have never lost less than 3lbs per week and I finished the 100 days on Monday having lost a total of 64 lbs. I am thrilled to bits with my loss and ther is a huge difference in me. BUT since yesterday I...

Question about "cooking" packs... help please

I find that whizzing it with the blitzer stick gets rid of any lumps. I mix mine with some cold water (just a little) then add boiling water and then blitz it. No lumps or bumps. (Just like I hope to be!!! :D :D :D)

    Dropping dress sizes.

Hmm, I need to lose another 2 stones before March. I think it might be a bit of a challenge but I am determined and have had 3 good weight losses in the nearly 3 weeks I have been doing it. Thanks for the tip about the belt. I think that is a good one!

    Dropping dress sizes.

I was a M&S size 24 before I started on this journey. Now after 2 1/2 weeks I am wearing my size 22 skirts OK and my tops seem to be a bit on the big size. Today I bought a pair of Per Una Jeans and a knitted top in size 18. They are my incentive to wear when I have a girlies weekend away at...
