    Favourite places to holiday?

We were lucky enough to move to Jersey, Channel Islands about 8 years ago - only an hour from most airports in the UK so if you fancy a short flight to try it out then I would really recommend it. The beaches rival anything you can find in the Caribbean - have a look at photos on jersey.com...

    Am I doing enough?

Got any classes you could do occasionally - your body needs a good mix of different exercise so it doesn't get used to it. You could also have a session per week which is more cardio and less weights and then one which is more weights and less cardio - all about the mixing to keep it...

    Hats off to Amazon

Unfortunately my Kindle froze while I was on holiday - not dropped or spilled on - just froze. Very irritating because I had made a decision not to take any books - although my husband had kept reminding me how it would ruin my holiday if I didn't have books to read. I was lucky because the...

    Strength training

Hi Shazzabir - just to say that my personal trainer says it's good to do the strength training too because your muscles use up more calories than fat so then your cardio workout is more effective if you have built up some muscle and also you are likely to look more toned.

Well done - sounds like that 10 mins made you feel great. I bet you will soon be clocking up 30 mins. If you had some Wii games you could vary it a bit too. You don't have to do a huge chunk at once, if you did 3 x 10 mins in a day, that would be a real achievement. I don't think it's easy -...

Help - going to the gym for the first time

At my Fitness First they have some suggested programmes for the exercise equipment. I do think it's worth trying some classes too though because you might enjoy how it feels to be part of a group rather than doing the DVDs on your own. I find that if I don't have a programme at the gym then I...

    Body attack

I tried attack - bit too high intensity for me - don't really like lots of jacks etc - always worry it's not that good for your back but agree that it's a great workout.

    Off the rails :-(

Sorry to hear that Hannah - any idea why you have put the 7lbs on? Have you been pointing absolutely everything? I see you've only posted 4 times- do you come on here regularly? I find it keeps me on track by reading other people's diaries, problems, suggestions. I plan my week's meals and...

    had the week from hell

So sorry to hear about your week - it would be easy to get knocked off track but already you are saying that you are not going to comfort eat. You sound strong and that you are determined. Do you have something coming up that you can look forward to? Sending you big hugs and strong vibes!

hi, new on ww pro points...

Hi Caroline Welcome - I'm pretty new too - only been doing it for 2 week but am finding the support, help and advice on here really useful. Dive in and post anywhere and everywhere - I find you get to know a few people that way. Good luck!!

    Pork lasagne in the book

Hi Has anyone managed to make this with the amount of pasta which it says in the ingredients? I can't see any way that you can make 3 layers of pasta with less than 3 oz of pasta sheets. We must use at least twice that amount which obviously affects the points but I'm not sure how much??

    ww butternut squash bake recipe?????

Jem - just to say that it's really worth trying quorn mince as I wouldn't know the difference between that and beef mince in a bolognese and yet it is so low in points.

    Joined the gym.

Well done on the joining. Like Sparkle I joined 2 weeks ago and am already noticing the benefits. I'm doing classes and going to the gym. I've noticed that the classes feel slightly easier already and I can put a bit more effort into it and I definitely feel that my stomach is starting to...

    Core Stability

Totally agree with all the above - don't take too much notice but we can all do with tightening up on those core muscles. Plank is brilliant and I am in awe of Gina being able to do 2 mins as I can only manage about 30 seconds but I've been doing it 3 times a week for the last couple of weeks...

    Quick Prawn Balti

I haven't tried it with chicken but I would imagine that you could easily just substitute it. I don't think there is anything that makes the rest of it particular to prawns. Let me know if you try it.

Philli with pasta ? How do you make it?

Oooh will also be looking for the sweet chilly philly. I cook pasta separately. I poach salmon in water with some lemon juice. I steam courgettes and dry fry some mushrooms, then mix the salmon and everything else with philly light. Really yummy!

How many PP should i be on?

Sorry I don't know how much you are allowed - I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon, but I am sure that 29 is the lowest amount of points allowed.

Chicken in Oyster & Spring Onion Stir fry... Where did I go wrong???

I'm not completely sure where you've gone wrong as I'm not a big lover of stir fries so I don't cook them often, but I thought the idea of a stir fry was really quick cooking, so could it possibly be the 25 mins cooking with sauce. When I've done them before I would have done the same up to the...

Cheesy Chicken Bake with New Potatoes - Query

Hi We thought this would be an easy Sunday night tea but not quite a roast and I didn't think it would be too bad but when I looked at the figure it worked out at 22 points!!!! However I did try to skinify it a bit and wonder how many points you think for this: 4 people: 8 chicken thighs...

    Seriously Satisfying Cookbook

Just tried yet another fab recipe from the book. This time we had Sticky Pork - really lovely and moreish - chinese type sauce. So far we have had the meatball pasta bake, duck in redcurrant sauce, pork lasagne and Sticky Pork. Very pleasantly surprised as so often you buy these books and...

    New to weight watchers! Nervous!

Just wanted to wish you good luck. I read somewhere that people who are not overly optimistic actually do the best on a diet because they don't think it is going to be easy. So you already have a good start. I am only on week 3 and would agree with Stephhh that the best thing is to plan and...

    Mullerlight yogurts

oooh I like the fact that the Mullerlight Strawberry is only 2 pro points. I've tried WW yoghurts which are only 1 point but they really do taste like they are only 1 point and I'd rather use an extra one on a mullerlight. Thanks for that

    WW Jars of Sauce

Hi Just wondered what people's experiences are of the jars of WW sauce. We are trying a curry sauce tonight. I'm a bit wary as historically these things never used to taste very nice but we need a quick tea for when my son gets back from rugby. If you've tried any of the others, could you...

    Anybody used Bio Oil?

I heard really good things about this but used it after my hysterectomy and found I was allergic to it - really made my stomach itchy. Must be something in it that doesn't agree with me. Just took me a while to realise that it must be this product.

Won't be doing the Shred (whatever that is) but will commit to exercise every other day. I had my first session with a personal trainer yesterday and can hardly walk today - really struggling with stairs or the toilet - lol We did a lot of squats with weights. My worry is that tomorrow will...

    White sauce for lasagne

The pork lasagne in the Seriously Satisfying book uses creme fraiche mixed with a bit of parmesan. You don't put it between the layers and it just goes on the top. I love my lasagne but I was very happy to eat this and didn't feel I had missed out on my usual.

Recipes I've tried and loved this week

Last night hubby cooked the duck in redcurrant sauce from the Seriously Satisfying book - was really lush and not at all like a diet recipe. In the week, we've had the meatball pasta bake and the monkfish wrapped in parma ham (although we did it with cod cos of the cost) and the pork...

Never really gave propoints a fair run..

Hi I'm only into my 3rd week on Propoints and have found it very easy to follow. I tend to just stick to the 29 points that I'm allowed each day. I use my 49 points for going out for a meal at the weekend or if I've gone over a bit each day then I know I have the safety net but I don't plan...

ProPoints SIMPLY FILLING DIARY ... So close to goal ......

Sorry I've been offline for a few days. I'm starting to get the hang of the points plan now. It really makes a difference to write everything down doesn't it? I'm only on my 2nd week and it should be weigh in tomorrow but the meeting has been cancelled so I'm hoping that doesn't throw me off...

    Help

This is only my opinion but I use the pro points calculator. It is asking for total amount of carbs and total amount of fat, so ignore the "of which" bit. Portion size is the size of the box if you are having the whole box. Hope that helps.
  148. lilacwine

    Just started Pro points :)

I posted a prawn balti recipe a couple of days ago - only 4 pp per person. Very quick to do if you like something a bit spicy

ProPoints SIMPLY FILLING DIARY ... So close to goal ......

Hi I'm a newbie like you - and I don't know how you are managing on so little food during the day. I don't have anything left in the evening but I eat a lot more food in the day. I have 2 weetabix for breakfast, then chicken salad for lunch (maybe with 2 oatcakes) and then a main meal in the...

    What's on Your Reading List?

Hi New to this forum and pleasantly surprised that there's a book club here too. Just wanted to say that I loved Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman - not usually my sort of thing at all but really loved it.

    Quick Prawn Balti

Serves 2 I think this is 8 pro point per recipe, so 4 per person but I'm hoping someone will tell me if I'm miles out with the calculation. I would really recommend this and we don't normally even need rice with this, but you could I'm sure. 2tbsp medium or balti curry paste 1/2 medium...
