    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of places, but it's definitely going to be something job-related! I feel the need to enter the "real world"! --- A couple of hiccups today. I was in court all day, giving evidence (long story short, phone stolen, recovered only an hour or so later...

    Bad scales

Woah! What a nice surprise! I got the shock of my life a little while ago when I brought my scales into my new room at uni, as they were a stone heavier, then I realised that it was because I was using it on carpet - quick transfer to the bathroom and everything was back to normal!

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Ahh it's so great to be motivated again! How can we not be in this great weather? One thing I forgot to consider though - I put on some shorts this afternoon, and they're FAR too big for me! Which makes sense seeing as they were slightly big to begin with and I haven't worn them for ages...

Just saying hello and asking for a bit of advice.

I find the brand often makes a big difference, but it's not always as you would expect - the other week I bought the low fat cottage cheese from Waitrose, and it was HORRIBLE!!
  5. J

Just saying hello and asking for a bit of advice.

Hey - Asda does 0.1% fat cottage cheese, and the be good to yourself one at Sainsburys is 1.5%, and I'm pretty certain they're both fine...they're what I use anyway! What you've mentioned is one of the issues faced by most people on Dukan - it's way easier when you're alone than when mixing...

    New Kid On The Block

Looks like you're doing really well already! Just to repeat what everyone else is saying, I'd also recommend starting a diary in the diary's thread - it just helps keep everything in one place and it's a great motivator!

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Wow, haven't posted on here for a while! Must have been a busy week! Nor have I weighed myself for a while actually either...! Hasn't been the strictest of weeks, but I'll see what happens in a couple of days. I've just been shopping so am now feeling firmly in the dukan mood! Let's hope...

    Cinema Eats

Not to sound too strict or anything but I'd just say don't have anything. That's what I did when I went the other day. Before, I would always, ALWAYS have one of those snack pots of something like minstrels, maltesers etc., that was one of the main reasons for going!! haha. But seriously...

    advise please! Giving up!

Also, have you been making sure your PV days have been vegetable-y enough? (i know I could just check your diary to see this!) I found that when I moved into Cruise, I didn't really take advantage of the PV days enough initially, but then felt much better when I started incorporating more...

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

I'm so happy that I'm now back on track with Dukan :) There must be an infinite number of things to do with chicken breasts, it's amazing what a quick marinade can achieve!

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Yeah, even though I went off track I still didn't go completely crazy!! Well so far so good on the restart, even after 1 day I'm feeling like I did before, waking up all refreshed and not sluggish. I swear, having a cup of green tea a couple of hours before bed has some kind of magical effect...

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Riiiight then, ok, after 5 days hiatus, here I am back posting again! Well, my last exam was on Friday and that officially marked the end of any Dukan discipline! Not that I'm proud of it or anything, obviously not, but I'm not wholly remorseful either :o This weekend was always going to...

    Attack Oppisite of constipation is????

Don't worry - as I've been clear to mention several times, I went through the exact same traumatic experience, and for me it was 3 days into attack also! But that was surrounded by times of the total opposite...so what goes around comes around, I guess!
  16. J

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Ah those protein crisps sound good! And one of my friends has a grill like that, I'll have to convince them to "experiment" with me...hehe. I feel much more back on the right path these past couple of days than before. I went a bit off course towards the end of last week and over the...

Thinking of starting, is it for me?

I couldn't recommend it more highly! I see you've lost loads already on Cambridge, so very well done for that. You obviously have great amounts of dedication! That's what I like most about Dukan - you don't really feel as though you're on a diet! In my case, I'm not a 'dieter' as such in...

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Mmm, just made the most amazing wrap. All it was is a thinner, wider version of a galette, with some chicken and peppers and lettuce....it works so well! It's really nice to have the crunch of peppers as well which you don't really get in PP foods.
  19. J

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Ahhh, so nice when you can get through to the end of the day and know that you haven't wavered once! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, and it won't all undo itself tomorrow!

    Attack Starting tomorrow, fish question!

I have a lot of smoked salmon and have done since starting Dukan (normal cooked salmon as well), but I find a lot of it depends on the specific type of salmon you pick up. Even if you go to any supermarket there will probably be like 4 or 5 different kinds of smoked salmon, some have really...

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Hehe, very cruel indeed but I find it surprisingly motivating! Eggs are so great because they can be used in so many ways and it always feels like you're having something different. Unlike ham, eurgh, I never want to even look at another slice of it for a couple of weeks at least...

Finally have enough posts to put this avatar up! YES, it has been chosen for a reason, after all, that is a king size bar of dairy milk! And no, I didn't eat it, I was breaking it up (and 2 other bars) for a friend's party - chocolate fountain! And this was about a year ago, I can safely say...

    Naughty but starting again!

It's easy to go off course, but it's just as easy to get back on it again :) We've all been there! Tuna Steak

I realise this thread is a week old, but is the Dukan mayonnaise allowed on Attack? Cos I have that with Tuna Steaks on PP days, made just with egg, mustard and fromage frais. It just makes it that bit...less dry!

Right, so I've realised two things. 1 - I feel less like eating in the summer -------BUT------- 2 - if hayfever kicks in, I want to eat everything going! On wednesday I'd been out all afternoon and was in the gardens, so I started to feel incredibly hayfever-y, really had to stop myself...

Ok so I said I wanted to get my head back in gear today and I believe I have, hopefully! I definitely feel back in "the zone". I'm also very happy that I managed to recreate the lunch out I had yesterday, smoked salmon and poached eggs, even though I had to watch a couple of youtube clips...

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Well it's funny that you say that actually! I often find that if I DO indulge my senses, even visual e.g. google image-searching types of food, I can stare at it for a bit and almost get that 'hit' without even eating it! I think I'm actually keeping the dairy milk here as a sort of trophy - every time I look at it it reminds me that I haven't eaten it! -------------- I'm getting my head back in gear after the past couple of days. Not that I've fallen off the wagon, but I just wasn't really in the Dukan...

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Well this is certainly for something for me to be proud of! Haha. Today was my first ever outside-of-the-home "meal" since starting Dukan, and it was a success! I was meeting some friends for lunch in a cafe which does a range of stuff, and one thing they did was quite simply poached eggs...

    Sweetner addiction?!?!

You say you're adding it to everything, is that just out of habit or because you genuinely want to make something sweeter? A bit like how people often add salt to things without even trying it without? My only concern is that you'll get hooked on the sweetness of things, which just...

Okokokokokokokok!! J'arrive! Speaking of food, just done a big-ish shop so that should hopefully last me a while! Lots of chicken, prawns, salmon, yoghurt, fromage frais, eggs etc. And a few vegetables but there's a market 20 secs away so I often just get it fresh as and when!

    Negative Dukan press in France

As others have said, we don't know who these survey respondents are, or how effectively they followed the diet - so may only have done 4 days of Attack, then gone back to normal eating habits and OF COURSE put it all back on again!! These 'internautes' are probably those who try every diet going...

    How do YOU pronounce Dukan?

Hehe, I was wondering how it must sound to a French ear....! It reminds me of a solicitors where I live called Wright Hassall, I mean seriously, how they ever get any custom I never know!

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Yep, indeed sleep is much more...efficient! I feel more energetic for longer during the days so don't get that evening drop in energy which helps. Most of my carbs would have been centred around evening time so that probably explains that! --- Also, as a point of interest, I notice that...

Ahh, Dukan food is so simple yet so good!! Just now I had some chicken breast that I'd marinated in a bit of 0% yoghurt with some coriander and a drop of lime juice (left for a few hours then wiped mostly off and grilled) and it was great! I was eating together with friends and they were...

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Well so far so good! I was worried that I would end up being 'given an inch and taking a mile' when I went onto Cruise yesterday, but luckily I was as disciplined as ever! Attack Attack onto Cruise

Hi, I think what you're asking is for the order in which to begin the alternating days? Personally I started with PV...otherwise it would just be a continuation of attack :)!
  55. J

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Cheers! One thing I was worried about before starting Dukan was that I'd have a lack of energy due to lack of carbs, but what I've found is the total opposite. Before, consuming so many carbs (and it was a lot) probably played havoc with my energy/sugar levels, but now everything seems much...

    How do YOU pronounce Dukan?

Ok so this may have been done before so sorry for asking again! I assume that in French it would be like 'du-quand/du-camp', but I've just realised that I've never actually said it out loud in English! My instincts would tell me that it would be like do-can (like a can-do attitude, but in...

    Jack's amazing diary of interest!

Day 4 and I'm happy to say that I'm following it to the letter! Last day of Attack tomorrow, will be interesting to see how that goes! One thing I didn't quite anticipate about Dukan is the way appetite goes right down - this evening I really had no desire to eat anything (although I did...

Thanks :) I'm feeling very motivated, much more than I thought I would be. The first hurdle is simply being disciplined for 1 day, I thought I'd cave in after 2 days but the fact that tomorrow will be my 4th day is actually reassuring me that I can be disciplined if I try hard enough! And to...
