When i look in the mirror.......

It has taken me a long time to stop seeing the 20+ stone person I was, and even though I know that I am a lot different, I am still pleasantly surprised when I do see photos of me now

    Have manners disappeared?

I have always been taught to say please and thank you, hold doors, and it angers we greatly that other people don't bother. My son is 4, and he has also been taught 'please' and 'thank you', 'Taaaa' since he was under 1! People always comment on how polite he is, but I can't help but wonder is...

1 syn chicken korma - yummy!!!

I have made this using the coconut muller lights and it is nice. I was a bit apprehensive because of the chocolate, but you don't taste it at all, and if you can get them its syn free :)

How do u make nice sweet potato roasties or wedges?!?

I do my roast potatoes in the same way I do my chips, but I cook mine on a chip net I bought in the £1 shop. Its just a coated wire flexible basket type thing and because the air circulates right around them, they go really crispy and you don't need to turn them during cooking either. I also add...

Meals for a very tight budget...

I find Farmfoods are great for frozen veg. Lots of the bags are £1, and some are on 3 for £2. They also do a bag of stir fry vegetables, again as others had said, Aldi's super 6, and reduced sections in supermarkets. I also love baked bean lasagne, and as a lot of the time I am cooking for...

    Monday weigh in

Hi all, I lost 1.5lbs this week, very happy given I went to Frankie & Benny's for my birthday meal, and was expecting to maintain at best. Almost down into the 13 stone range now, and my next half stone award is 2.5lbs away, which I would love to get, but after losing 6st 4.5lbs, my weight loss...

From 14 stone to 13 stone

I'm still hanging on in the 14's. I'm now 14st and half a lb! Been jumping up and down for the last few weeks, but had my son's and my own birthday in the last two weeks, but got back to where I was before my son's birthday, so just happy to be back on track now. I'm also over the moon to have...

    Success Express

I've avoided mugshots completely as I thought they had to be synned, or doesn't that count if they are free on EE/Green? As for breakfasts I've had a big bowl of chopped strawberries & raspberries with grapes and blueberries with a muller light, usually with an apple, banana and a...

    Success Express

I only 6 days out of the 7, but it was easier than I thought, lots of salad and veg though, but having the extra HE's helped too. I found I didn't really want my syns, but I did use some, because who's going to decline a biscuit or some chocolate LOL! It was definitely worth it anyway. I'm going...

From 14 stone to 13 stone

well, success express paid off, I lost 5lbs this week. Would love to do the same next week, but not sure if another week of SE is bearable, or even if it would have the same impact x

I will do, I'm at a bit of a loss what to do if this doesn't work tbh. I'm getting to that point where I'm thinking 'Maybe this is the weight I'm meant to be', and while I'm happy at this size (I'm in a size 14 which was my original aim when I started dieting), I would like to be able to lose...

    Success Express

I've done 6 days out of 7 on SE this week, would have done 7, but was out for most of the day, so it was easier to revert to EE for that day. My consultant said that it was quite difficult, and a lot of people find a few days enough, but I was determined to stick at it, and I'm very pleased with...

    Mugshot Warning

I agree, and I found the pasta didn't 'cook' as well either. They were vile! Thanks for sharing this info, will pass it on to my consultant tomorrow in group as I know a lot of people in my group do eat them.

    Hifi bars

the cranberry and yogurt ones are being discontinued, so if the new one is cherry bakewell then they'll replace those I guess. Also, you can have 2 alpen light bars for a HEB, and they have a cherry bakewell variety and they are lovely, so I recommend trying those if you haven't already - and I...

From 14 stone to 13 stone

Can I join as well please? I'm currently 14st8lbs, and not too sure what my target ought to be. I had set it to 12st, but had a lot of people telling me this weekend that I don't need to lose any more and I don't look 14st! I've spent the last 2 months yo-yoing, and had got 1/2 a lb away from my...

You people need to make: Magic Oaty Pancakes

the toffee mullerlight works well too if you don't have/can't get vanilla. We discussed these in group yesterday, and the consultant said that she would recommend that you use them as a HEB and eat the pancakes at the same time with plenty of fruit rather than leaving them for later and snacking...

    Super speed tomato soup

A lady in my group made this and said it was the closest soup to Heinz that she had tried. She also used some of it instead of passata on a smash pizza. I'm really not keen on tomato soup so I won't be trying it

    FAVOURITE LOW SYN PUDDINGS?

You people need to make: Magic Oaty Pancakes

I had these this morning with sliced banana, black cherries, grapes, blackcurrants & blackberries and a dollop of ff fromage frais, really filling and absolutely gorgeous - in fact, probably too filling as I skipped lunch.

My wii says I'm 2 stones lighter than the SW ones say! I wish! I do weight myself on Tuesdays on them though because if there is a loss on there, then that generally means there will be a loss at SW.

    Tuesday Weighers

I eat as normal - my weigh in is at 7.30pm, but I'm more inclined to have a 'main meal' at lunchtime instead, and maybe a salad for tea. I lost 0.5lb this week, bit disappointed after such a big loss last week, but its still a total of 6lbs in 2 weeks, so not bad at all :)

Unsure whats going on :-( newbie waiting for funding...

Oh how frustrating for you. I completely understand where you're coming from, as I have CP and can't walk more than a few steps, and the weight has just piled on over the years. I've just started Slimming World as I have decided enough is enough now. Why is it that nothing is simple when it...

    Hi all!

Hi everyone, my name is Dawn, and although I joined the site last week, I thought I'd best get round to posting instead of lurking! LOL. Whats for breakfast?

I've been having chopped fruit & berries with fat free natural yogurt all week, but felt really hungry this morning, so had quorn sausages, baked beans, tomatoes and a fried egg this morning with a cup of tea with milk from my allowance. Think its going to be one of those hungry days because I'm...

Silly question - frying an egg with Frylight??

I only started SW this week, and decided to have a cooked breakfast this morning (my little boy was still asleep so I thought I'd take the opportunity to have cooked while I could!) - quorn sausages, beans, tomato & an egg, and have never tried frying an egg in frylight either. I did the sausages...
