Almost gone one whole week without weighing myself!

I am also a serial weigher. Used to be easy until I moved house 6 months ago, now the only room in the house without carpet is the kitchen. The first time I weighed in my bathroom I nearly cried as had gained 7lbs, until hubbie pointed out that the carpet makes them unrelliable. Sooooo...

How good is Zumba for weight loss??

I was doing Zumba last year, then stopped as was moving house, but started again last week. Being the sort or person who weighs myself a lot, I can tell you that the morning after my first class I had lost 2 lbs, and the morning after my 2nd class I had lost 1 lb. I am dieting, but normally...

Any fantasy fiction readers on here ?

Hmmm yes gadgets - love them! I do seriously love my kindle, it has just made reading that much simpler. To be honest I rarely use the additional features, but when on holiday it is handy to be able to access the web, and when in a tiny hotel room being able to play some music through it to...

Just been to the doctors and feel awful now...

OMG that's awful! How dare he say that. I once managed to get to see a locum (and had been trying out Orlistat at the time ina desperate bid to kick start a plateau) and he asked me if I was the right person as he couldn't see why I Would need to take Orlistat so he thought the wrong person...

Any fantasy fiction readers on here ?

Well Clara, I felt that way too, but when I had to take 7 books in my hand luggage on holiday because they were too heavy to fit in the meagre weight allowance I decided enough was enough. Now I wouldn't be without it, it fits in my bag everywhere I go, the last holiday was wonderful, I could...

    Clothes labels allergies

I also remove all the labels, they irritate and leave red patches where they rub, although not all labels for some reason - so it's not just you! The unpicking and sewing is the only option I have though, sorry!

    Hi all :-)

Hi, I joined yesterday so hello from another newbie! I noitced we have exactly the same goal weight, although I am alittle nearer mine, but have been dieting on and off for about 4 years so should have reached it many times by now. Good luck and keep at it!

    Cuba here we come!

Hubby and I have booked a great deal to go to Cuba next March, it has given me great motivation to keep with the weight loss. Feels really exotic to be going there, a step up from our usual Balearic/Canary island trips. Be glad to hear from anyone who has been, we are going to Guardalavaca...

    Outlander Series

These books are some of my all time favourites, I defy anybody not to love Jamie, he is so nearly Mr Perfect and makes me feel all smooshy. I agree that the later books are going off track a little, but would always read them for the Jamie and Claire, and some other things that I won't mention...

    Stephe King Fans?

Am a huge SK fan, Pet Semetary remains the scariest book I have ever read, and it must be 20 years since I first read it, closely followed by IT. The Dark Tower series is brilliant, and is now being made into a film/TV series - hopefully they won't ruin it like some others. Green Mile remains...

Any fantasy fiction readers on here ?

Oh so many books and so little time lol! I am currently reading Elizabeth Moon, which I am really enjoying. i tend to find a new author and read everything they have written before moving on - is that just me? I also love Robin Hobb, David Eddings, Diana Gabaldon (not strictly fantasy I guess...

Just been to the doctors and feel awful now...

It would be interesting to know how many people (and I am one!) avoid going to the doctor because they know they are going to be lectured / made to feel bad / weighed (on nasty scales!). I certainly avoid goingif I can help it, or if I happen to find out my dr is on holiday I will go then...

    Hair - Laser?

As a newbie to the site it was great to find this thread. i have had several doctors tell me I probably have PCOS, but never been diagnosed, but have had terrible hair problems for about 14 years. I shave at least once a day, twice if I am going out in the evening, but nothing ever gets rid of...

Can diet drinks make you fat?

I have to say I regularly drink diet lemonade, as I much prefer cold drinks to hot. I tend to drink one coffee first thing in the morning, perhaps another in the afternoon, then flavoured water during the day at work and diet lemonade in the evening at home. I have previously cut out the...

    Eating when I'm tired

I definitely relate to tiredness making me eat, and I definitely find it harder to 'be good' and remind myself of the reasons I am dong this when I feel tired. Unfortunately I am having difficulty sleeping lately, but at least I am aware of it which is half the battle as i know what to look out...

Feel silly that this is such an issue!!

It's interesting to hear I am not the only one who associates places with food. I have to admit whenever I plan to go anywhere my first thought is of the good take-aways or restaurants etc that are there. When I go home to Plymouth for example I think of the nice pasties that I can't get here...

    Head

I am currently working through the Beck book 'how to think like a thin person' (I see ther eis a seperate thread about it but as a newbie I can't access it yet) but I am finding it quite useful as it aims to get your head inthe right place, and that has always been my problem, not changing my...

Exercise-what motivates you to do it?

That made me laugh, as it's usually exactly what i do, get home, put the wii or a dvd on and no one is allowed in the room. Hubby has occasionally tried to enter for something and I freeze like a rabbit in the headlights until he is gone! Best motivation I can find is when I do a couple of...

    Zumba dvds??

I have done some classes, and tried the dvd's and wii game, I would have to say the dvd's aren't a patch on going to a class, but if you don't have the comparison they are probably good, I just miss the atmosphere and the music at my class was more to my liking. Tbh I have done better dvd's, I...

    CC NSV - Non-Scale Victories!

This is such a positive thread to read! A few months ago when i had had a positive few months of weight loss all my rings were too loose, and hubby and I were window shopping and I saw a stunning ring that I fell in love with. Hubby offered to buy it as a new engagement ring, and amazingly it...

    Hi - New to CC

I am also new to the site, but personally find that the joy of CC is that I don't have to think 'I can't have .....' because I can, in moderation. I keep the lowest calorie crisps and choccies in the cupboard, so if I really want them I can have them. Often just knowing I am allowed stops me...
