    Deflating the Bouncy Castle

Glad to see you're still alive if nothing else! The struggle to not go crazy once you're off-plan is immense. I am in a similar place in that i came up the steps due to an event or two, when ideally i should have waited at least half a stone more, and then those events meant i put on half a...

try not to let it get you down. you have had above average losses all the way til now, you were bound to have an inexplicably dreadful week at some point! it could be hormonal, you could be retaining water for some reason, just get back on it and you will probably have a big loss next week. i...

    My Journey :)

i've had hair loss, now and again. i believe it's caused by starting the diet so coming off it won't help (basically it's too late to fix) so you might as well carry on. it shouldn't be too extreme though so might be aggravated by something else?

Ramblings of a Panicker! (I ask lots of questions and would love answers and tips)

Oh just realised you are tall, so should be 4 products not 3 on ss. Ss+ is the same regardless of height though, and probably a better option for you if you are exercising regularly.

Ramblings of a Panicker! (I ask lots of questions and would love answers and tips)

You are still allowed 3 (ss) or you can have 3 and a small meal (ss+), or are you not in uk? You need to think of them as medicine not food, that's the key! If you are sticking to it mostly then it has to work, there's no way you could eat so little and not lose.x

Ramblings of a Panicker! (I ask lots of questions and would love answers and tips)

Hey hun. Be careful with accidentally skipping products as it can slow down your loss as you're not getting enough nutrients and your body can't cope. Same for exercising, don't push yourself too hard. Keep on though it will all be worth it in the end and make sure you have enough water.x

7 Months to a new me! Bring it on!

CD and how much are we allowed to lose

I can't see any reason why it's not ok to have a goal weight where your bmi will be over 20, that's still technically healthy. You will probably have to go up to 810 or 1000 for the last bit, but otherwise i don't see the issue. You're not supposed to aim for under 20, under 25 is fine afaik!

3-4lbs is the average weekly loss, so you're still doing good! also, if you don't have all your shakes it might slow down your loss cos you're not getting all your nutrients.

    Cambridge journey Day 1-5

hey SP, there's hardly any difference in weight loss between SS and SS+. the main difference is are you the kind of person who'll feel much better for having the small meal or are you a slippery slope to a binge if you eat anything kind of a person?
  107. Sapphireblue

    Not happy :0(

if you have to eat, the best thing to do if try and stick to meat and a bit of veg and eat as little rice as you can. people don't notice what you eat as much as you think they will.

    SB's first (and only) attempt

yeah i hope this La Senza doesn't go. there's a Debenhams with a decent range but they don't seem to do anything young if you know what i mean? it's all sensible or sexy, when sometimes i just want a simple style in turquoise!
  109. Sapphireblue

    SB's first (and only) attempt

so yesterday i finally got around to getting a couple of new bras. have been holding off because it might still change, but current ones are noticeably big now so bit the bullet. sadly La Senza mostly had only crap left and tons and tons of massive sizes, FFs, GGs, etc. which is ironic now that...

    Lighten up!

i always have the bars in two sittings if not three. make a cup of tea, wait for it to cool a bit before starting the bar, nibble bar in tiny bites inbetween sips of tea as if real chocolate. i can make half a bar last a cup of tea easy now and i find it wierd on the couple of occasions where...

on a positive note, my phone is Orange payg and about once a month i get several pointless texts essentially telling me to top up. they have never called me though. i would suggest that whether or not he's just a bit crap or otherwise, i would stop spending your money on him (unless it's a...

    It's now or never

I'd also go back to what you're used to. Also, with the dress, try not to stress about a couple of pounds up, it should fit a few pounds either way, and you know this or you wouldn't be hoping to lose a bit more! It will all be fabulous, so please try to enjoy the anticipation a bit (easier...

    SB's first (and only) attempt

thanks guys!!! only the fact that i'm still working at this time of night is keeping me from being mega excited. at least i have 'seen' goal, even if the stepping up process is as painful (weight-loss-wise) as i'm expecting!
  116. Sapphireblue

    SB's first (and only) attempt

so, mega relieved to have actually hit my original target. i can do step3 now without the annoyance of having loads more to lose. the target now is primarily on not regaining whilst stepping up and reintroducing exercise in the hope that'll my shape will sort itself out a bit and allow me to...

    Yes!

just want to point out, again, that you say you lose 9lbs a week but clearly from other stuff you've said you lose that 9lbs in the 5 days and then put some back on in the 2 days, so it's not 9lbs over the whole week. also, you've sometimes said you 'binge' at the weekends, but from other stuff...

    How bad was this?

I think you should be ok, you've basically had an SS+ meal, apart from the cheese which is prob a bit higher in cals/fat than anything you're allowed, but ok for carbs which is the main bit.

All of my unofficial weigh ins on my own scales this week have been indicating a decent loss is imminent. Anyone with Arthritis?

My husband had his first proper attack of gout whilst on SS+. It is likely he was prone to it anyway as his family have a history of arthritis, but it was indeed something about a build up of uric acid due to eating lots of protein. You may find it sorts itself out, but hubby had to go up to...

Am I a freak to feel scared of being thinner?

I'm not scared, but i do feel like my head hasn't caught up with my body, and i am more critical of my body and how clothes fit than i was before. gutted :-(

with the bread, it depends how carb sensitive you are and how long you've been off carbs for, but it's best to avoid altogether. as for broccoli, you can eat most green veg on SS+/810 levels which are meant to keep you off the carbs, but only in really quite tiny portions. it is something...
  133. Sapphireblue

    gutted :-(

when you first start the diet, the first few pounds off are due to glycogen levels (basically stopping carbs). if you eat too much carbs you raise the glycogen back up and you will put on weight, but as soon as you cut out carbs again, it should come straight back off. essentially half of the...

So i'm joining here now for the final bit. Challenge start weight: 10st Original target: 9st 10lbs Aspirational target: size 12 (9st 3lbs??) weight left to lose: 4lbs or 11lbs
  140. Sapphireblue

    SB's first (and only) attempt

So weigh in was a measly 1lb. Suspect that's partly down to sort of switching to SS+ halfway through the week, not giving me great hope for this week coming up on SS+ but as i'm up to step3 in a week can't really do full on SS until then. Limping towards the finish line.
  141. Sapphireblue

My weight loss journey more bumps than a rocky road

Want to wear a bikini, not a tent this summer!

If you don't have your packs you will get incredibly ill, are you just having nothing but water? That's not a diet but starvation?! The only reason the diet works is because you get all the vitamins and minerals you need in the packs. If you skip just one it's bad for you.
  146. Sapphireblue

Zahra progresss?I won't give up this time?

You shouldn't be exercising in the first week or two, you won't have enough energy. If you are used to it, then you can start again later, but be aware you probably won't be able to do as much as you used to, and stop if you feel bad.

well, am now confident that i will actually lose SOME weight this week. would ideally like my first week whoosh to be delayed. unofficial weigh-ins indicate that this is very likely, but then last week they indicated a loss so will just have to see what happens on monday. am coping ok on SS...

make sure you use that docs' scales when you have your check to see if you're light enough to be referred for your treatment!

    Lasting the distance?

i love bowling but it doesn't seem right without the beer (plus beer makes me better*) *initially
  211. Sapphireblue

    SB's first (and only) attempt

Yep it seems likely, i felt physically ok the first few days but dreadful yesterday and now ok again today. I don't think i've had problems before staying in ketosis but maybe i have and that explains my lower than average losses on SS+ Made it through today ok anyway. Held out til 5pm before...

    SB's first (and only) attempt

i now suspect, having felt absolutely dreadful all day yesterday and ok today - that i have only just gone into ketosis. pretty slow work to take 6-7 days, but then i realised that the first time i started and got in quickly (and a couple of restarts after planned breaks in the early days) i was...
  216. Sapphireblue

    SB's first (and only) attempt

nope, nope and nope! only small consolation is i know i was weighing less yesterday on my own scales (and they tend to match CDCs) so i have had another attack of being inexplicably heavier on weigh in day compared with day before. even if i'd been the same today would still have been a very...

    SB's first (and only) attempt

am not happy, at all. just had weigh-in and guess what? STS! after time off-plan I SS+ed for 6 days and I haven't lost ANY weight. wtf? am so angry. i've been struggling and for what?! only thing to do is switch to SS and see what happens. could do without it as already feeling knackered and...

    Deflating the Bouncy Castle

sounds horrible, i quite often get head-rush/ blurry vision on getting up, especially first thing, but never the full faint. wierdly i used to think that fainting would be quite good, cos only skinny minny wispy things faint and it would prove i was one too!
  219. Sapphireblue

    SB's first (and only) attempt

finding this really difficult after so long off-plan and before that on step3, keep wanting to follow step3 rules, where carbs ARE allowed. keep reminded myself that yes i could finish off on step 3 but it would take months and MONTHS (based on my previous lack of losses), whereas in theory on...

    SB's first (and only) attempt

struggling a bit now. might have to leave work early as completely forgot would usually have my third pack late afternoon and didn't bring any in other than my lunch one. and someone brought cakes in arrgh. i had a teeny tiny bite of one. and then stopped. so could be worse.

well, not too bad a gain for such a sustained period of naughtiness. back on it tomorrow!

Loose or Saggy skin after weightloss?

Cocoa butter is a very good moisturiser for that sort of thing, plus the stuff they sell for pregancy, bio oils and the like, is probably better for any specific area you want to target.

    It's now or never

I think CD makes your stomach lining more exposed, so any reaction you are prone to is multiplied and you may react to rich food and/or alcohol when normally you would not. I have had dreadful indigestion on planned breaks, but for Christmas i had already been on step3 for a month before, and...

    SB's first (and only) attempt

Thanks hun and happy holidays to you too! I am well enjoying my break, particularly because i have a time period set that i am off for, them back on it in the new year. Let yourself embrace your decision to come off it for now, so you can say you choose to have a short break, rather than...

    SB's first (and only) attempt

i now officially have the strangest body ever. i have had a full week completely off-plan (not going crazy or anything but there have been biscuits and alcohol and just generally not attempting to diet at all) and i have LOST weight and am now at my lowest weight ever by half a pound or so...
  228. Sapphireblue

I had planned to eat tomorrow and failed by eating tea tonight....... :(

It is so difficult to go from SS or SS+ to a higher level or up for a special occasion. I'm lucky because i've been on step 3 for a while so it's not so much of a shock to the system.
  229. Sapphireblue

    Work Christmas Party!

Unless you are properly coming off-plan, i would not have any alcohol, water if you can and soft drinks at worst.
  230. Sapphireblue

    Let this be it!!!

    Brilliant! You're doing so well
  231. Sapphireblue

    SB's first (and only) attempt

so, 1 lb up :( not too bad, as off plan, but given that i should have lost last week, pretty annoying.
  232. Sapphireblue

    I think I've been naughty!

If you don't manage all your packs it is more likely to slow down your loss than speed it up, and could make you feel worse. Ty to force yourself to have the first one earlier, it triggers your metabolism and will help your loss. The diet is low calorie enough as it is, your body can't manage on...

    Let this be it!!!

I was thrilled the other day that i had to wash my newish size 14 jeans as they were getting loose. Am so on the verge of a 12 but as i am now offplan for Christmas, will be lucky if those jeans still fit in the new year! Should also be done by mid-feb though. By the new year i hope i will be...

    SB's first (and only) attempt

on the plus side, had to have one of those stupid pointless check-ups today to get more asthma inhalers (that i've been on my entire life but apparently still need to have a full assessment every time i need a new prescription) and the nurse commented on my weight loss and put it in my file...
  235. Sapphireblue

    SB's first (and only) attempt

another weigh-in, another STS. pretty annoyed actually as it was my last full week on step3 before Christmas and really wanted a loss, given that the best i can hope for over the next three weeks is a STS. i was weirdly v. light yesterday every time i hopped on the scales for an unofficial...

    CD started 08.11.2011

Hey, i have also had dreadful stomach issues after eating off plan when on SS. Not every time, sometimes i've been fine, but it is more the richness than the amount that makes you ill i have found.
  237. Sapphireblue

Do we drop One Dress Size per month?

in my experience you lose lbs quicker than dress sizes but it very much depends on your shape. also i think the smaller you are the closer the sizes are to each other. i'm an apple and i went from nearly 15st and size 18/20 to 10st 7lb and a comfortable size 14 in just over 6 months. starting...
  238. Sapphireblue

    Size 14!!

Oh well done! I went to get a couple of tops the other day and was so thrilled that all of the 14s i picked up to try on fit perfectly no problems. It's brilliant, isn't it. I think if and when a size 12 fits i will fall down in a faint!

ooh, bull ring meet! i have never bought anything from Selfridges that wasn't from the posh food and drink bit downstairs. i always feel like the staff in there are looking at me like what is that heffalump doing in here! so i vote for some browsing and trying on and then across to Debenhams...

    MAMA22 diary

I don't think the BMI 25 matters so much when you are already on the diet, it's more that you shouldn't start at that level as you aren't fat enough to need a VCLD.
  246. Sapphireblue

    Tano gets to target...

Tano, i'm doing the same. As soon as the first Christmas do hits i'm off plan til the new year, with healthy eating as a base but allowing deviations for occasions. Same as you, i don't want to be paying for products when i know i won't lose. I don't want to be struggling to lose the last half...

    Violets CD Diary x

sadly i still have 13lbs to go. i'm resigned now to not really losing any more before Christmas, but i'm determined to stick to step 3 for two and a half more weeks and try to get a couple of pounds off anyway before the cake-eating (in moderation!) begins. between my work do and the new year...
