    I have so much sympathy, a really sweet tooth and lack of willpower! But I find if I go cold turkey I'm worse and will slip up just as you have. But if I allow some calories a day to have a kitkat or something I cheat much less because I don't feel like I can't have it. Sounds odd but it works...

    Granola...

    I think granola is really bad for you because it's oats and quite sweet. I think 50 grams is about 300 cals depending on the brand. I agree that it's delicious though.

    I think that one works because they have the low cal range so you can stick on around 1000 calories even if you eat it 3 times a day. Must get dull though and I can't believe that much bread can be good for you!!

    sick of gaining

    I know it sounds odd - but sometimes you need to eat more! Otherwise your body "holds on" to fat and water because it goes into starvation mode. My advice would be to up your calories to what MFP suggests and drink loads of water. The weeks I drink loads I have my biggest losses.

    I survived Starbucks. OH had a huge piece of carrot cake an was trying to convince me to have a skinny muffin. Glad I stayed strong, just checked and they are more than 300 calories! Eek!! Just treated myself to vanilla syrup in my latte which only added about 10 cals as it's sugar free.

    I would agree that smart buying of fruit and veg can make a huge difference to the cost. My local greengrocer is about half the price of the main supermarkets so I save loads that way.

    If you read some of the threads on here then the consensus seems to be that you should have at least 1200 net calories or your body will go into starvation mode and will start to hold onto fat. There are mixed views though and it seems to vary whether people do eat back their exercise calories...

    Net calories are the difference between those you eat and those you earn through exercise. Ie if you eat 1500 calories and burn off 300 at the gym then net calories are 1200. Hope this helps

    For snacks I try to stick to fruit or if I'm more hungry something like a ryvita with light Philly and grapes (around 100 calories depending on the number of grapes). Or if I am really craving a square or two of chocolate from the OH!!

    I just tried the pancakes. I agree that they are a little eggy if you make large ones, but I made them using just 1 spoon of mix spread to the size of a beer matt cooking o a lower heat than i would for normal pancakes and they were fine with some 0% Greek yoghurt and some strawberries...

    Today I'm proud of ....

    heartburn :(

    I have bad heartburn, think it's the acid from all the fruit!! Reflux can be helped by eating slower and having yoghurt with fruit helps.
