    DOING SW FROM HOME???

Hi everyone. I'm starting online this week. Have been going to group since July but fell off the wagon over the last couple of months. Haven't been staying for meetings as i find them really boring as it takes our leader nearly an hour to go through everyones losses so thought i may as well try...

    Pasta & Sauce in flask?!

Hi all Was reading through some old posts about lunches as tired of salad and someone had mentioned you can cook Pasta & Sauce in a flask if you just add water (not as much as you would on the hob) and just leave it for 10 mins. Anyone else tried this and does it work, is it okay? And if so, how...

    Advice please !!!

Hi Essie I only noticed that on the Exante site too. None of the others say that which probably explains the tummy troubles you had and the cripling bowel pains i had after coming off Lipotrim! I've done the diets a few times but only for a few weeks each time after the first time when i did 12...

    Exante - Intermittent Fasting

I lost a good 3/4 pounds a week Deb until i lost the plot and stopped doing it! The Slim and Save shakes and meals are okay. I didn't find them as sweet as the Exante ones are. I'm going back to intermittant fasting next week but the way i was doing a few weeks back was to just not have...

    Not enjoying shakes

Having a disappointing day! Got my shakes which were mostly the choc cherry ones as they were on offer but didn't really like them. Also had a couple of the white choc and raspberry ones and they were worse. Now i'm sad that i will have to drink them anyway and the next 2 weeks are going to be...

    Hello!

Just wanted to say hello! Have gained a lot of weight over the past 6 months and have decided enough is enough now. I've done VLCD's before (Lipotrim and Slim and Save) so i know the drill but I'm only with you for 2 weeks as i am pretty sure that is all i can manage this time. That and having 2...

    Doing the 8hr diet.....

How's the 8 hour diet going ladies? I'm thinking of giving it a try to mix it up a bit as been doing JUDDD for about 6 weeks now and need a break. xx
  17. *lesley*

    5:2 or JUDDD??

I agree with the above, try 5/2 and see if it works first. It didn't for me hence me doing JUDDD and fasting every other day. Lost a lot in first few weeks now it's slowed down but going well. If i didn't eat so much on the up day i would prob lose more, ha ha!! x

    Blood pressure

Evening all :bighug: Has anyone else found their blood pressure has dropped on this diet? I'm not complaining, just curious to see if anyone else reaping these...

    8 hour diet

I looked at this in the paper yesterday and at first i thought it sounded great but then when you look at suggested menus etc it's far from 'eat what you want'! I think the idea is to lay of carbs a bit. I'd also be interested to know how people get on with this diet.

    S&S and hair loss..

It usually happens around 3 months in and by then if it is going to happen it will do regardless of if you stop the diet or not, the damage (so to speak) is already done. Food Optimising. Does it work?

I'm wondering the same as you Lillaura! Can't get me head around the fact that eating so many carbs can work! Trying to break away from shake type diets and wondering about Slimming World as never done it before. Seems like it'e working for you ladies though!

To put my thoughts into the mix, i'd give up the S&S and just low carb it. If this diet was free then fine but spending £35 or so every week to lose nothing or very little is pointless. Get yourself a little carb book like me (Collins Gem Carb Counter) and set yourself up on My Fitness Pall...

    Hi I'm new to VLCD

If you have a Boots nearby that do the Tony Ferguson diet thing (most do) they will also sell a shaker. It has a little thing at the top so your shakes aren't lumpy and does the job! It's only a few quid too :)

    Flapjacks!

CP78, if you want them i would email lipotrim who will tell you yes and then tell the pharmacist that you have asked them and they said it was fine! And the soup...urgghhhhh!!! I had to rush to the bathroom straight after drinking it as it churned my tummy up....:eek::eek:

    Flapjacks!

If a pharmacist says you can't have them it is most likely because they don't want to order them as they are not popular. Demand them! There is also no reason that men can't have them. There is no comparison with Slim and Save unfortunately! The Lipotrim shakes are okay, by no means nice. The flapjack is okay, by no means nice. The chicken soup in my opinion is vile.... Drinking more than 3.5l won't make you lose weight any quicker. Apart from the calories you burn up running to the loo! :)
  84. *lesley*

    Fish, help please!

I do the same with fish. Put a nice bit of smoked cod or haddock in some tin foil with a small knob of butter (a little doesn't hurt!) and fold up the edges, put it on a baking tray and put it in oven on around 150 (fan) for about 20 mins. yum yum
  85. *lesley*

Can you drink too much water???

An extra litre isn't going to make you lose more weight so as long as you drink the amount they tell you then all is well :)
  86. *lesley*

Why do we have to drink so much?

Remember hot drinks count though as long as no caffeine. Get yourself a big mug and a nice cup of decaf tea is then nearly half a litre if you get the right mug. Have some redbush or decaf coffee too and in just 4 cups a day and you are pretty much there :)
  87. *lesley*

    Smelly breath

Have a look at stripsrus.co.uk. They do the Listerene breath strips which are allowed as long as you get the mint ones. 3 packs are £4.99 and they taste a lot better than the ones you get from the pharmacist! x

Good luck Monica! :grouphugg: Just to check, have you factored in a week for re-feed into your time? x
  90. *lesley*

    How on Earth!!

Hi Chelle! Don't worry, they are small but when you cut the carbs your body goes into a state of ketosis and that will stop the hunger so you won't want more. It can take a few days to get to this state but persevere and you will get there and lose some weight x

  93. *lesley*

Any advice on which is best... S&S or LT?

Which bit of LT are you struggling with Lisa? If it's the taste (or lack of!) of the shakes or just not being able to stomach them then S&S undoubtedly taste better but if it's the not eating then i don't think it's going to be any different on S&S. Yes you can have the protein and veg but it is...

Any advice on which is best... S&S or LT?

I've been thinking about Lipotrim lately and i think it is easier to stick to than S&S purely because you drink the shakes (or eat a flapjack) and that is it and nothing else is allowed and once you get into it then it's fine. Even when the choc shake is the only one you can handle, which is...

    Porridge.. More like wallaper paste!!

I wish i had ordered more but for some odd reason i ordered more shakes than porridge. Just one old porridge left for tomorrow so i will have to load it up with nutmeg to get through the bowl! I'd even order the new one for when i am not on S&S! But i think i would have 2 packets at once.... xx

I don't think a bit of cheese hurts now and again especially if it is the difference between that or falling off the diet. It won't take you out of ketosis and it certainly did me no harm when I've done this or Lipotrim. :-) I mean a small lump not half a block though!

    Caro Extra

Hi all. Anyone know if you can drink Caro Extra on this diet? Never occurred to me before as I just see it as coffee!

    Lavender Tea????

Don't worry Emily, as long as you don't drink gallons of it then you should stay in ketosis :) Fennel is the same, it's the seeds from the flower. Unless you can find one made of the leafs. I had trouble finding one when i needed it but i think it does exist! These are the only ones i know that...

Which ones are you having? I found the choc one to be the least offensive! The strawberry and vanilla i found could get quite sickly. Do you like coffee? Portions Lou, it's all about portions! I'm thinking anyone could maintain just by eating quite sensibly but half what they would normally eat. Obviously half a biscuit would not work but you get the gist! Lol! And that's my diet thought of the day. Just wish I could stick to my own advice! X

I think what I'm getting at saying rip off is that on some of the vlcd's it costs £1.76 per shake. About 6 miles a morning Faxman :)
  139. *lesley*

    food replacement manufacturers opportunists ?

Completely agree Paul, they are a rip-off. Have to take into account though that with Exante and Lipotrim that is all you spend a week. Plus it takes all the thought and planning away and thats why i did it :)

Will running help me lose extra pounds?

I know someone from work who has lost a good few stones by running every morning. She said it means she can then eat what she wants! She can't be eating too much junk though! :) She looks completely different now to a year ago.

    Lipotrim flapjacks

The key to flapjacks is to break off small bits and make sure you have a big glass of something to drink with it. They are a godsend for anyone who is finding the shakes can give you diarrhea one minute and constipated the next. They seem to sort that out. And it is nice to chew!

  152. *lesley*

    Opps..

I know hun, wasn't having a go x I wonder sometimes if they say things to try and make you keep the shakes and soups bland to cleanse the old taste buds? Who knows!

    Will this affect ketosis

Not all of them give them out or offer them unfortunately! Amazon or eBay is your best bet if they have none
  154. *lesley*

I am going to start lipotrim on monday and very nervous.

Not everyone get's the headaches so you might be fine. You may also get into ketosis quickly so may find the hunger goes quickly. Flapjacks vs shakes

The first chicken soup is okay but then they seem to just be vile after that! And they made my stomach churn and gave me pretty quick diarrhoeal! However, some people swear by them so give it a try but just don't get a weeks worth!
  159. *lesley*

  161. *lesley*

    Cheese and ketosis

I had a lump of cheese a few time on Lipotrim and it didn't do me any harm and will keep you in ketosis as low low carb. Better cheese than a slice of bread or a bar of choc! x
  162. *lesley*

    Cheese ??

Theres nothing wrong with a bit of cheese at all! I have a chunk most days and it hasn't harmed my loss this week. It's like everything, it's fine in moderation and will also keep you in ketosis :)
  163. *lesley*

    Weigh in

Don't want to discourage you but it won't stay that high every week. Weeks 1 and 2 are always higher. I'm only telling you this so that you are not disappointed. It will prob even out to about 4 or 5 pound's a week which is still great and a lot more than you would lose on other normal diets :-)

Caffeine info does it affect weightloss?

Normal coffee contains around 400 chemicals anyway and there is no proof that decaf actually has harmful levels in it. If you googled decaf coffee and then normal coffee you will find a whole range of reasons why you shouldn't drink either. It's an addiction, same as nicotine or food. When i...

    Healthy meals

Is there a thread for us to post healthy home made meals? if not, shall we all add some of our favourites here? If so, one of my favourites to go with meat or quorn of some description... Spicy stuffed peppers 4 red/orange/yellow peppers 2 tubs of salsa Mushrooms garlic - how much you like...

hungry in the evening...but don't want to eat!

Have a good tea mainly of protein. We had a lot of cheese at Christmas and what i found was that after having cheese and other protein for tea, i didn't snack at night and nor did it even cross my mind. Which is very unusual as i am the same as you. Get to 9 or 9.30 and want something to snack...

What kind of results are you seeing from it?

    Water

It would probably still be dry if you drank 16 litres. One of the unfortunate side effects of Lipotrim x

    clothes and dress sizes

This is really tricky question. I always wore a size 20 then i lost just under 4 stone and am now an 18! I can get away with a few 16's depending on where from but generally an 18. Maybe i was actually a 22 before but even so thats only 2 dress sizes. I think it depends on your body shape. I...

    Peanut Flapjack

I always found them to be okay! Nice to chew and they sort your stomach out if you are having probs like i did of being constipated and then the other way! As said, you need a big drink to wash them down with and don't bite them, just break off little chunks.

    Hair loss?

I had it too. Mine started about a month after stopping TFR and was falling out for a couple of months. It has gone to normal levels of falling out now but it was a worrying time when it was happening. I remember being in the loo on a train and with the lighting i could see my scalp! I started...

How much does drinking water actually help?

Nice post Caroline! Try switching to decaf but maybe not replacing all the drinks at once as you will get massive withdrawal symptoms! I have a mug that is nearly 1/2 a litre and only drink decaf tea and coffee so this way when i have a cup when i get to work thats half a litre down already. 4...

I found a great way to lose weight ..

Have to agree with this. I have 0 willpower and have been on a diet for most of my life but then tried Lipotrim which is just shakes and i have to say it is a lot easier than having to think about what to eat. I think it takes less willpower to do the TFR diets than a normal diet. Utmost respect...

    Constipation - quick remedy

Anyone ever tried Biocares Psyllium Intensive? I have just bought some and had my first drink of it with tea. It's supposed to sort your colon out and cleanse your bowels. Let you know what happens!

How much does drinking water actually help?

Can't say it makes much of a difference to me really. Maybe slightly less foggy headed of an afternoon though!

TMI but need to ask- sorry!!

Def agree with this. My other half is the same, he guzzles all day, drives me mad that he always has to take a bottle of water with us wherever we go! x

    What Is/Was Your Motivation?

Hello, i am also new to this forum! :) Sounds like good motivation to me! Mine is just how great i have been feeling the past few months since losing some weight. Once i have the Christmas weight off i am hoping for another 9 pounds and while i would still be 'officially' overweight, i am happy...

TMI but need to ask- sorry!!

It's important to remember though that it is possible to drink too much water, it can actually kill you. It upsets the balance of electrolytes in your body which can result in brain and other organs swelling and ultimately death. 4 litres is quite a lot. That kind of level is recommended with...

    Cheat Day??

I'm having cheat weekend at the moment! Not that this means i can stuff my face but it means i can have a couple of biscuits and something nice for tea. It also means i can have a meal out (not every weekend) and not beat myself up about it. I am being very strict in the week though with just a...

    hello, im back!

Good luck Bex x It's always going to be harder the 2nd time around as it's not new and you know how it works. I think it's always easier to do any diet the first time and it's a bit of a novelty if you know what i mean? Looking forward to reading of your losses :) x

    can i chew these?

I know all the other answers you get will be no but the Atkins diet works on ketosis and there are a lot of people that have sugar free chewing gum while doing that and it has caused them no harm. Might be worth just having a look through the Atkins forum to see what others say though. If you...

How to maintain your weight loss

Well done Jessie! x :) Is the Harcombe diet similar to the Montignac method does anyone know? Just before i buy another book!
  244. *lesley*

    Yuk.

I think once you heat them up they are horrible! Out of them all i think the choc one is the least offensive. Try it just blended with ice and it's fine :) The flapjacks i found to be okay but they are not 'nice' as such. They are fine and do make a change from the shakes. Try one when you...

    Smoothie to go, half price

Kenwood Smoothie to Go is what i used to make my shakes. The base is really small at takes up hardly any kitchen space. You get 2 travel mugs to go with it. Anyway, saw them today half price in Sainsburys. £14.99 and well worth the money as it tastes that little bit better when put in here with...
