Isn't it wonderful? Will have three teens in the house this time next year aargh!
Actually, they are all very good girls. Most of the time anyway!
Found a great course for dd2 - have emailed the college for more info. Mind you, by the time the application is to be made she will have...
So my eldest daughter, who is 18, has just discovered that if she throws herself off walls, she can't fly.
She went out clubbing on Saturday night with a group of friends and by the sounds of things had a few too many. She doesn't drink often and was drinking shots that night - not a good...
Thanks so much. I honestly can't remember when I was last 9 stone anything.
Has really spurred me on to lose this final 6lbs. Will be grinning all day!
Have been struggling for months trying to get below ten stone.
Weighed myself this morning and am <drumroll>
9 STONE 12 LBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, so, so, so pleased! Not long before I get to goal now and know I can do it.
:D :D :D :D :D :D
Awful, poor you : (
Do you find that certain foods trigger them or is just hormonal? Do tablets not work? Fortunately I don't get migraines. Just horrendous pmt (but that's worse for my family probably...)
Laura, kittens are so, so gorgeous! Love cats - we can't have any as live to close to the main road in the village and, besides, our guinea pigs have the run of the garden!
My sister has just got a kitten though, so can get my 'fix' there : )
Hi Choccie. I've been Dukaning (on and off oops) since July, I think.
Has taken a long time to lose this 32lbs and weight loss has been slow for me ever since the initial week but I expected that. I'm only losing about 1/2lb a week now (if that!) as I am close to goal. That's ok though as...
Ooooh Lipotrim - that's extreme! Definitely seems to be working for you though! You will be in those 10s in no time! Why did you decide to switch?
I have done a bit of switching too. Just got really bored with Dukan so switched to Atkins for a bit, which was great as was able to have a lot...
Hello! Sorry to go awol - life has been hectic!
Dad is really very ill, so have been busy helping mum. He developed a blood clot on his leg and it's been difficult to treat as he has a problem with losing blood, so it has been difficult using blood thinners to dispel the clot.
He is very...
Hello lovely lady! You are doing so, so well - wahey!!!!
Have been trying to add you as a friend but for some reason the account is not allowing me. Very annoying. So glad that it's still on the way down for you - the scales I mean : )
Well done Mirjam - perfect name! Love your jewellery, and had a nosey too at your events website. So professional - very classy!
Pity we don't live slightly closer... I may have four weddings to plan in the future
Or even grumpy, hormonal women... soon will have 3 teenage girls in this house
Hopefully by the time the 4th becomes a teen, the oldest will have moved out... :D
Ta Chris :D Still a bit to go but not that much now yay!
Got my brother's wedding in just over 2 weeks. Am looking at dresses atm. Need to buy a warm, winter coat too as it will be pretty chilly in Sweden!
Aw how lovely, thanks! :)
I do have my fair share of moans and groans (just ask my husband - he will confirm this...) but feeling better about myself has made a real difference to my optimism!
I'm sure you will find the same. As your confidence and self esteem grows because of what you...
Aaaw. Love newborns. That gorgeous, warm, newborn baby smell - nothing like it!
Don't love them quite enough to have another one but great when they are other people's :)
And you tell me to slow down?? ;) :D
Had cauli rice with curry for dinner tonight. So delicious.
Oh have put a progress pic in my album btw. Not a very good pic (I'm so not photogenic) but think there is definitely a difference from the dress photos to now. Not so many lump and bumps...
You have done brilliantly jezzebell to have stuck so religiously to the diet for so long!
Atropos often says that if there is nothing Dukan friendly to have, an Atkins friendly meal is a good second choice. Sounds like you managed to keep to low carb so don't worry too much.
Besides, this is...
How odd. I replied to you yesterday but my post is nowhere to be seen!!!
I said, that you should be glad you don't live near. I would have a paint brush in your hand and have put you to work before you knew it :D
LAUSANNNNEEEE! <mwah mwah mwah>
How are you, lovely?
The leg is...
Lovely thread!
This is the most successful I've ever been on a diet. I totally and completely believe that I will get to my goal weight. Don't know when, but it will happen.
For 25 years I've failed at dieting. This time I've succeeded but I haven't changed. I'm still the same person as I...
Aw thank Dub. Sorry you are really under the weather :sigh: It is hard to keep going when you feel like you need to 'treat' yourself too feel better. But that will only make us feel miserable long term! You are doing brilliantly. Really hope you are fighting fit again soon!
What a great thread!
My youngest daughter gave me a hug the other day and remarked in a voice full of wonder, 'Ooooh I can get my arms all the way round you now mummy!' I felt all warm and mushy!
My emotions were all warm and mushy - my waist WASN'T mushy, for a change lol.
That's exactly how I feel! Weigh myself every single morning and plan to always do that. Also, I find that if I stick to a diet all week and weigh at the end of it only to find I haven't lost (or even gained ) the shock causes me to blow the diet.
Weighing every day means I can see...
2 stone off - wow, wow, wow! That's an incredible achievement!
It is so hard going back to work after maternity leave - you wonder where the time has gone don't you?
Once you are back into the swing of things am sure you will be fine though, and, if you are anything like me, will start to...
Aaaaw :bighug:
Decided that I deserved some 'me' time on minimins in the evenings - when I get the chance that is! Could never be a painter/decorator. Would drive me insane.
Sorry you are feeling a bit disheartened Mirjam. I know how you feel as thing have REALLY slowed down with me too. Seem to be losing about 1/2lb a week now which is a pain.
Really hope things get moving for you again soon though. I'd miss you if you took a break : ( (me being selfish as...
Aaw don't be worried! Am still sneaky peeking every now and again to check up on you all.
STILL painting the damn office! Everything still in chaos and is driving me nuts!
The staircase to the top floor still hasn't been built - the parts didn't come in apparently. So we can't get stuff put...
I'm back!!!! Aaw it's nice to be missed :D
Lauanne you were right. Have been working all hours relocating the office. Been in every day first thing, and not getting home until at least half nine then falling into bed exhausted.
Not been sleeping as have so much to do and it all whirls...
Oooo I love this thread!
I have cheekbones again!
When I stood with my legs together, both legs would meet all the way down, with no gaps. I've actually got gaps at the top of my legs now and above and below my knees which were never there before! I actually seem to have shapely legs after...
You still have 8 days to go so it's entirely possibly you will lose more before then!
You've done so well. Am very jealous at you being so close to goal!
Thanks speccy. I was meant to go to zumba last night, but still felt really weak and a bit shaky so gave it a miss :( Didn't want to risk any injuries and am really glad I didn't go.
But today I feel great! So did do the dvd early this morning and got on fine :) Struggled a bit with the...
Ooo well done bijoux. Did you find it made a difference in toning up?
I felt like I didn't have enough energy today - so think I will have porridge in the morning before starting. Maybe the small carb fix will help.
Still waiting for my hip bones to put in an appearance! But I have been known to cast admiring glances at my cheek bones when passing each and every mirror...
Hello! Lots of new starters here at the moment so you are in good company. Don't be afraid to ask hundreds of questions (I did!) as you will get lots of good advice.
Thanks so much! I will do exactly as you say oh wise one :D
It's all ok EXCEPT for the first plank push ups which I am absolutely hopeless at, and yes, those arm raises are an absolute KILLER! I can do them all but by the end I am shrieking!
Planning to do 10 days of all 3 levels - does...
That's just what I needed to hear :D
Okay, tomorrow will be day 4, so only another 2 days of sheer hell! ;)
And will eat beforehand too.
Oh whilst you are here being so helpful, did you storm through the 30 days without a break or did you have rest days? Not quite clear on this.
Today PV
B - chopped eggs, 3 turkey rashers
L - 3 muffins, yogurt (had breakfast too late for anything else)
D - chicken and veg in an oyster/lemon/ginger/garlic sauce (just using up stuff in the cupboard)
LOADS of water yay! :angel09:
Do you mean leave it longer setting in the fridge, or longer straining it? And should it strain in the fridge or at room temperature?
So many questions. So little yoghurt left... :p
Well in this instance it should be a case of matter over mind! Go shopping henceforth and try on all those smaller clothes that will definitely now fit you.
It's such an ego boost!
Sorry, people who are doing The Shred dvd. We aren't passing ourselves through a crosscut paper cutter in order to lose more weight, honest! :D
Thanks umm. I've been doing it first thing, before breakfast, which might not be the brightest idea thinking about it. Feeling fine now and full of...
Ok I need some help with making boursin. My yoghurt is really lovely, creamy and thick(ish).
I have been taking some out after setting it first in the fridge, then straining it all night through a cotton handkerchief.
The first time I did this, I was left with slightly thicker yoghurt and...
Just a bit of reassurance and info required please!
Am on day 3 of level 1 on Shred. Has been ok so far and have managed right through without stopping (except for the planks - I have NO upper body strength!).
But this morning had to really drag myself through it, and two hours later am...
The meatza sounds gorgeous. Must try it this week.
I didn't add enough sweetener to my muffins, so have been drowning them in jelly flavoured yoghurt. Lovely!
How's your arm, you poor injured thing? Sounds really painful, ouch.
Everyone should get on the yoghurt train - is so delicious.
I have attempted twice now to make boursin, but it has been a disaster. Nothing happens - just end up with a bowl of yoghurt and a sodden cotten handkerchief...
Oooo your dress sounds gorgeous! And a size to boot - well done you!
Hope you are feeling lot better today. You're right though, load of bug and colds going around. dh is full of the cold atm - am keeping him at arms length!
Been better with my water intake too - have really made an effort...
Wow Lausanne, a size 10??? Can't even imagine that! Definitely something to aim for though. Loving the russian hat look - very chic!
Thanks couteaux. Enjoy the wedding this weekend. What are you wearing?
Feeling COMPLETELY washed out today. Think the Shred has just tipped my energy levels...
Right, a few days of PP to get things moving again.
Today:
B - eggs, turkey bacon
L - thought I didn't have lunch but I did - grilled salmon steaks with lemon!
D - grilled steak.
S - almond muffins and yogurt with SF jelly.
Am starving, haven't eaten enough. What can I have?
Today's menu...
Well done to all the losers!!
Well done Dub - a pound is a pound (she says stating the obvious). Is all going in the right direction. It's good to know that that pound of fat is no longer squeezing your internal organs to within an inch of their life. It's all good!
Stayed the same again...
What's the meatza and the chicken gordon blue? Sounds lovely.
All your new clothes and boots sound very smart. You will be all organised for the winter at this rate!
Hope you have had a good day today.
Sorry you are feeling a bit under the weather couteaux - hope you get over it soon x
Can I join in with the water challenge? Have made a determined effort to drink more today, but it has mainly been diet coke which wasn't my original intention. Will do better tomorrow.
You are doing everything right Lausanne. You mentioned you had increased your exercised so it might just be that you have more muscle mass (a very good thing for dieting) which weighs more than fat.
Have you measured? Although you have shown a gain you will probably have actually lose cms...
Aaw, did you tear up? I would have been blubbing like a baby! Bet it felt like it was his first day at school all over again. Doesn't matter how old or big they are, you never get past wanting to protect them from everything.
I made homemade yogurt today but messed it up. Chucked in the bio...
Thanks Chris x Haven't seen my brother lately so he might be surprised to be seeing less of me :D
Yep, definitely a new outfit will be in order. Am size 12 -14 atm so not sure what size I will be in a month. Looking forward to clothes shopping again though! Mind you, will need to be something...
I noticed that my skimmed milk powder contained sugar too, so only put one tbsp in per litre of milk.
Why oh why would they add sugar to it? So annoying!
I'm back! Had a fab time. So great to catch up with friends that I haven't seen for ages. Sad it was such a flying visit though and had to leave them all so soon : (
Anyway, Dukanwise it wasn't too much of a disaster. Managed to avoid the main biggies, potatoes, rice, pasta etc.
However...
Do you find you are starting to take more care of your appearance now you are feeling better about yourself? Maybe not, I bet you were never as much a slob as I was :D
I've changed though. Pay much more attention to what I look like than I used to. Even paint my nails and toenails these days...
Nor have I - not an unDukan food has passed my lips! Our self control is truly something to be admired! :D
Thanks, really looking forward to getting away for a few days. Feel like I am going on my holidays!
I know! It's appalling!
<writes outraged letters of complaint to the Police, Parliament, the Queen, the corgies, Nelson Mandela and the Pope>
Not sure what good Sting will be though - too obsessed with Tantric nookie to be interested in your cancelled zumba classes:8855:
Sorry to hear you are having tummy problems - that's not so good. Strange it should flare up all of a sudden!
The only dukan friendly suggestion I can offer is boiled water (urgh) - not much help I imagine! Do you think it might be a tummy bug or do you think it is your old problems...
Doing great here ta! Still amazed that am coming to the end of my 6th week and I am having absolutely no urges to cheat. What is it with this diet? It is just absolutely incredible!
You are soooo close to the 12's - wahaaaay!
So exciting! (I don't know how many times I have typed that on...
Well done Annalise! So glad you are losing well again.
<adds 'water retention' to the top of ever expanding list of Things To Be Banned and underlines twice in thick, red marker pen>
Yep, going tomorrow. Are closing the office early once the courier has been and setting off straight from there.
Am as organised as I can be. Have boiled a load of eggs to snack on and have some cooked chicken too. Have made two days worth of muffins to last me Sat and Sun. Determined I am...
What a nuisance your zumba class was cancelled. Well, how very dare they!
Sounds like you are getting plenty of exercise anyway! Unlike me, who just has to swivel round in my swingy chair to get stuff off the printer behind me...
Glad the weight is dropping again!!
Have a lovely time in Manchester and have loads of fun shopping for new clothes for your new, skinny minny self!
Hope you are not feeling too battered and bruised after your little 'trip' (ouch).
Prob won't speak to you again until Monday as am off for the weekend too with NO INTERNET...
Is it the natural one, with no added sugars or salt? If so, it should be fine.
Got 100% wheat bran from Holland and Barratt the other day - their own brand so very cheap.
Eeeuuuww nooo! :roofles:
Ta Lausanne. Really looking forward to getting away for a few days. Haven't had a holiday this year because of the business. Normally we escape for a few long weekends but haven't managed that for ages. Okay, it's nowhere exotic - Rugeley and Telford - but...
Out of interest, how long can the yogurt last in the fridge before it goes off?
Bit of a moot point really, considering I can't keep my hands off it and it will probably never last more than a day and a half :o
That's what I was thinking (at 4am this morning, whilst trying to get to sleep ). Have you come straight from Lipotrim to Dukan? Is this the first 'solid' food you have eaten in a while? That could be the reason. Transit issues also.
Thanks Sander! You are welcome to steal my menus - it will be a case of 'follow the leader' because I steal them from other people :D
Oh, I will most definitely share the gloom and doom with all and sundry, believe me :o Major PMT overload most months... at least it's only a few days!
The...
How disappointing for you. Could you give us a little more information?
Could you input your weight statistics so we can see how much you have to lose?
How many crab sticks are you eating? They should be limited to 8 per day as they contain sugar.
Ham shouldn't be eaten really as it...
Today has been good, diet wise. Really enjoyed the jaffa cakes and yogurt today yum.
A bit stressed about work though. Am really, really behind with the accounts and have to have our VAT return prepared by the end of September. Have only input half of July's accounts into Sage, and haven't...
Ooooh you are brave - I have the 30 day shred and have done it once only. Thought I was going to die!
Not an expert (and there are plenty on here who will come on soon with real advice) but I would have thought it would depend a lot on how fit you already are. Also, extreme exercise, I would...
That's true. Haven't used yogurts as a sauce lately - I did on Attack but not since. And haven't been making galettes lately either, so once I return to those will need to remember to include them in the allowance.
Never tried Starbucks coffee yet  Must be the only person on the...
Tuesday - PV
B - 2 boiled eggs
L - chicken breast, 'jaffa cakes', yogurt (yummmmmmmmmmmmm)
D - ginger and lemon chicken stirfry with stirfried veg
Water intake has been absolutely pants. Blaming it on the vile, cold weather
How pathetic! Man up and just drink it! :whoopass:
Phew! I have been trembling in my shoes waiting for your response :D :D (as a side note, do you know there isn't a single smilie for 'relief' or 'phew'? Ridiculous!)
Aaah, you will love me then. I'm a black and white kind of Dukaneer - if it isn't in the book, it doesn't go in my mouth...
Thanks so much. Atropos, wow, a litre of dairy is a fair amount which is why I queried it! Much as I love the yogurt, don't think I could get through all that! I don't have much milk or anything else to make up that quantity.
Thanks malevolentnuzzler. Wonder why that rogue tablespoon shows...
Storm was better than expected. All a bit of something over nothing in the end thankfully!
The jaffas didn't turn out quite as I'd expected :D I put them into muffin cases and they stuck to them! Still, managed to peel the paper off and had a few yesterday and they were very nice. Filling...
Aw thanks couteaux! Still got quite a way to go but can't believe the change already! You can see my belly in that dress though... One day I will have a stomach to die for!
Is funny you should both be saying that about the water. I'm struggling with drinking it atm. It isn't that nice drinking cold water when it is chilly outside.
Drank loads of diet cola last night, but don't want to depend on it as it is nowhere near as good for you as water.
Ooo I'd love to have a qualified masseuse living with me... your lucky OH!
No kidney beans am afraid as they are not classed as 'pure' protein. If there is plenty of veg in the chilli you won't even miss the kidney beans.
Oh my goodness - we must share the same inner voice! I've always 'rewarded' myself with food. I 'deserve' it so why shouldn't I have it?
Is funny, I was talking about this with one of my sisters the other day. We blame it all on my poor mum. She used to reward us for good behaviour with...
Thanks very much christell. Sorry meant to say the tablespoons measure ml, not mg! Should preview.
So I will continue to use the 15ml spoon then. That's good.
I will try and show some restraint with the yogurt and if I find myself stalling, will know I have been overdoing it!
Ok, so you would think I should know this by now...
I have read that the limit for dairy products (milk/yogurt/quark etc) is 1kg a day.
Kg mean nothing to me so I need to know, is this equivalent to approximately 1 litre a day? Hasn't been an issue until now as I have only...
Hi Scrumper. Just noticed you are home educating your son. I've HE'd my four girls. Only 2 now as the oldest two are working.
Are you planning to make home educating a permanent thing or just until you can settle him into a school? Not trying to be nosy (although I am) but am interested...
Excellent - win win all round! Oxfam have a lot to thank Dukan for :D
One of my sisters is reading my book at the moment. Really, really hoping she will start Dukan then I can have someone in real life to enthuse to about it! Am passing some of my clothes onto her but hopefully she won't...
Well done on getting down under 200lbs! (although it hurts my brain to think in pounds instead of stones and pounds like we do over here :D).
You are doing so well - more than halfway to your goal!
I liked what you said about not cringing when you look in the mirror any more. I don't know...
:banana dancer: Yaaay well done you!!!
I just got to my 1 stone mark today and am one week further on than you , so am sure you will smash that stone next week!
Good - can't wait to see them!!
Another week of working full-time. Can't wait until dd comes home and I can go back to part-time!
Am all organised for today though. Lovely home made yogurt is draining in the fridge - Mirjam it is just so delicious! And worked beautifully am glad to say...
Monday - PP
B - chopped up eggs, turkey bacon
L - mackerel pate, roast chicken pieces (roasted whole chicken yest)
D - Beef Luk Lak (made in slow cooker)
S - Home made yogurt (yaaay!) and orange cookies
Diet? What diet?!
Hi Jenny, after the initial large loss on Attack, my weight seems to have settled down to around 2lb a week, which is great for me.
And that's what I've lost this week - another 2lb bites the dust! So that's my first stone on dukan gone. And have lost another 7.5cm - so that's a total of 42...
Made this last night Dub and it was absolutely delicious - a huge hit with the family!
I did it slightly different though, and browned some chopped up frying steak in with the onions etc before cooking it all in the tomato sauce. A gorgeous one-pot meal and we will definitely be having it again.
Red Heart, I used the blue lid Yeo for my first ever batch and it has worked like a dream! Can't believe it! <major achievement award is due> Is really thick already but going to drain it in the fridge for a fromage frais thickness. So excited!
So it wasn't the yogurt. I too can only think...
Aaaw thanks sooooo much everyone - you are all just fab and I LOVE you all! <clasps sister Dunkaneers tightly to bosoms>
And HUGE well dones to the rest of you shrinking and providing the recycling bins with extra clothes! (They will be overflowing and the collections people will wonder why...
Was great fun - very satisfying throwing out all those clothes that are now far too big for me. I never want to see them again!
When I first started dieting at the beginning of the year with WW, I was size 16 on the bottom and 18 on the top. Now, I am only 5ft 2 (standing on my tiptoes) and...
PV
B - porridge
L - 2 eggs and turkey bacon, dry fried
D - pepper stew with steak, cauliflower, broccoli and carrots
S - chicken leg, yogurt with orange sf jelly (not all mixed together obv ugh)
Just pulling your leg hehe. This place seems to be overrun by people from scotland - I knew you would be too scared to disagree cos you are outnumbered!
There are loads of gorgeous places round by you. Haven't been to the north of england for a while. Spent a few days in clitheroe a few years...
They look gorgeous - very professional! You could give thorrntons a run for their money!
Bet they taste better than thornton's chocs though. Am always disappointed with them. Over hyped. Interesting about cadburys though.
Oooo well done! Incredible restraint! If it was me they would still be trying to fish me out of the chocolate fountain.
What did you learn to make? (Far more interest being shown in your chocolate day than is healthy)
Ah Chris would be proud to come from Scotland, wouldn't you Chris? ;) :D
Think the bad weather is due here tomorrow - gales etc from what I hear.
Well done on your 2lb loss too - you are getting on like a house on fire! 2lbs is a great loss. If I could continue to lose 2lb a week I...
Well, it's been a most boring day today. Is cold, dreary and wet outside so have stayed in and got on with the housework mostly. Have my first ever batch of yoghurt on in the slow cooker! Planning to turn some of it into cheese too... bought hankies and everything!
Will be in work full-time...
Haha yeah, I think I won out on that deal!
Yep am really looking forward to getting dressed up for the wedding. Haven't got anything sorted yet as there is still almost 6wks to go so am hoping I will have lost another half stone by then at least. Will go shopping nearer the time. More dress...
Is great your son is musical too. My girls have never been terribly interested up to now, despite my efforts to teach them. They would probably get on with a different teacher!
Thanks Mark. Will let you know how the next one goes - early October I think!
Sounds good - what a bargain!
Picked up a pair of straight leg jeans from Tesco. Took about 15 pairs in to try them on, in 12s and 14s.
The majority were far too long but I managed to actually find some short length jeans which are perfect! The 14 fitted really well, but were slightly...
You have my sympathies. I suffer from cystitis very regularly (problem with my bladder) and always have to have antibiotics from the doctor as the infection is always bacterial.
But you might find your infection will react favourably to the sachets so they would be a first step. Don't worry...
My grandad played fiiddle too!! Infact I have his fiddle.
Absolutely agree re being so much better than playing in your living room. Great to play along with others too!
I hadn't played for years and am so glad I picked it up again. You should get back out there!
We have a guitarist...
That's the problem buying clothes whilst we are in the middle of losing weight isn't it? I'm over a size smaller from when I started Dukan, and everything is just hanging. But I don't want to be buying too many new clothes because I will be another size down in a few months.
Might raid the...
That's good to know! I know the rolly thing you mean (is that the technical term btw? :p). Used one of them at the gym and they make sit ups so much easier.
Right Jade - me and you to Argos now!
I want to employ you to come cook for me! Everything you make sounds so lovely.
I need to make more effort really. <lazy cow emoticon>
Enjoy bakeware shopping! xx
I know! Some people are just SO selfish!!!
:D
Oooh is there a new series of Strictly? <behind the times>
I rarely get to watch what I want as the kids and dh hog the telly. Yet another reason for me to pay a visit to Aberdeen...
What's the new job?
You are so lucky never having had it! As atropos says, is just like cottage cheese. Ugh.
I wonder if there is a specific exercise you could do to target that area?
So annoying when there's one part of you that seems impossible to get rid of. For me it's a roll of flab just over where I...
Aw just asked what the weather was like with you on your diary. Not good eh?
Was such a shame about the ceilidh. Normally when we finish we are all absolutely buzzing, but it was all such an anti-climax and we went home feeling a bit deflated. If we had been able to start on time am sure it...
Aw I can't come after all  Husband has some kind of problem with me moving in with you. Something to do with the kids needing to be fed occasionally or something.
So inconsiderate  :D
Hope the weather is better up with you than it is heretoday  I think I might have to...
Ceilidh was a bit of a washout last night unfortunately. It was a charity event, and we all turned up ready to get started at 8.00pm.
However, things were running late (understatement of the century) and the attendees were still finishing their dinner. When they finally finished they decided...
Great that you are getting good comments - it all helps to spur you on! All that walking will stand you in good stead.
What do you teach? I assume youths of the human variety, but I meant what subject?
Saturday - PV (yay!)
B - White fish poached in a little milk, with tomatoes. A bit unconventional but that's what I fancy.
L - 2 home made burgers with mushrooms, courgettes and green pepper
D - something with butternut squash. Fancy it and will update later.
Well done chica - you did so well and made really good choices at your meal out! Those sacrifices you have been making will be more than worth it when you are shimmying about in your size 10 jeans!
As long as you aren't regularly forgetting meals. You don't want your metabolism to shut down because your body thinks it has to endure famine conditions!
If you really aren't hungry at mealtimes, how about snacking on little bits of chicken etc through the day? That should keep your...
Aw that's not fair  But very good about the complexion! At least people are more likely to see your face than your behind.
Well, I hope so anyway... ;)
I find I'm not hungry at all when in ketosis. Agree with the metallic taste thingy but haven't experienced the bad breath.
Unless no-one has had the courage to tell me I have it...
Rubbish, boring day food-wise for me as didn't have time to shop yesterday.
B - porridge (that was good)
L - chicken legs
D - chicken legs again! 0/10 for imagination
S - nothing. Not got anything in the house, waaah!
1/2L water so far - not enough. 0/10 for effort.
So am starving and am out...
Lovely menu!
We went to the Harvester last week and I had grilled steak on a bed of salad. I asked them to serve the balsamic dressing on the side and just added a little. It was really lovely and very filling. I've found they are very accomodating to different dietary requests in the Harvester.
Since the 8th of August, so a month and a day! Goodness, feels longer than that...
So not long at all. Am incredulous! Actually I might just have to post a picture after all :D :D
I know, it's amazing! I had actually take the mirror out from the bathroom and scrutinize my behind in the bedroom because I thought maybe the steam was being kind :D But no, honestly it appears to have just gone! Bikini here I come!
(The bikini bit was a joke - I wouldn't inflict the sight...
Ah but you are back again and undoing the mistakes. And that is commendable because it's hard to get your head back into 'diet mode' once you have been off track for a while. So I stand by my praise ;) :D
cellulite?
I swear it was there a few weeks ago but when I happened to look at my butt in the shower this morning (this isn't something I make a practice of you understand), it was gone!
I even took handfuls of flesh and squished it together to see if the disgusting orange peel effect would...
Sorry I haven't been around the last few days - been working full-time in the office since our daughter rather inconveniently decided to take two weeks holidays (another thing to add to my list of 'things to be banned').
Anyhoo, all going swimmingly atm. Weight is dissolving beautifully -...
I want to move in with you Mirjam. Your meals all sound so delicious. Now your 'guest' has gone do you have room for another? :D
Sorry to hear about the migraine. How are you feeling today?
Thur PV
BF. Soft boiled eggs
L. Chicken kebabs with salad
D. Grilled steak with home made ratatouille (yummy)
Total yogurt with oatbran and jelly powder.
Wow, you have done brilliantly on Dukan! :worthy:
I seem to remember someone on here recommending that veg should be 1/3 of your meal, with 2/3 being protein. That naturally limits the quantity, which would keep the carb content down, and makes sure you are eating enough protein.
Don't know...
Wednesday - PP
BF - oatbran porridge and sweetener
L - roasted chicken thighs
D - grilled steak and eggs
Sn - no sugar jelly and flavoured Total greek yogurt
2L water plus 3 cups tea with skimmed milk.
Tuesday PV
B - 2 eggs, 3 turkey rashers, tomatoes all dry fried
L - chicken with salad
D - white fish poached in skimmed milk, cauliflower and broccoli

Hi. I second what Atropos says as I had a stall of almost 2wks then suddenly lost 3lbs in one day and another pound the following day!
I know it's hard to keep motivated though when the scales aren't budging and you are doing everything you should be doing, but hang on in there as those scales...
Don't worry about the scales fluctuating so much. Our bodies are funny things and it could be down to loads of things - fluid retention, totm, not eating enough, hidden sugars etc. Anyway, you can see that it is possible to lose and gain 4lbs within a few days but obviously that isn't fat...
You are sooo close to the tens. Won't be long before you are here too! We can do the Happy Tens dance together then :banana dancer: :D
I am jealous of your 5 cats :jelous: We had 2 a few year ago but we live on a busy road that runs through the village and they were both knocked down...
Totm's should be banned along with scales which show increases... am thinking of starting a petition!
I do have a slowcooker - would love to know how to make it!
Are you SURE you are kidding?? ;) :D
I'm a 'surface minimalist' (I just invented that term - quite like it!). My house looks completely clutter-free on the surface. Open any drawer or cupboard in the house though and you risk getting killed in the fall-out  :o
Well, jumped on the...
Your poor daughter. Upsets with friends can seem monumental at that age (I remember it well).
Glad she is fine health wise though. You must have been exhausted. Hoping today is much better for you x
Good for you Lausanne. I'm sure everyone will understand and it will be better for you in the long term.
Does this mean you will have more time to minimin? ;) :D
It could certainly be down to not eating enough. Your body might be going into 'starvation mode' and will be grabbing all the calories it can from what you are eating and not letting go including fluid.
Also, your body needs energy to burn fat. Seems like a contradiction in terms but if it...
It must make it very difficult not to have any large supermarkets near you. We have all the major ones fairly near us, and spend a lot of time trailing round them all to find what I am looking for!
I find Tesco is brilliant for very low fat mince, Total yogurts etc. so the sooner yours opens...
Thanks once, that's really nice of you. I'm not very photogenic unfortunately. My kitchen must be though - it probably looks better in the picture than in real life. You can't see the scratches on the units and the chips on the flooring... (not potato chips you understand...)
Huge well done on losing another 2lbs!!!! (I know I must not overuse exclamation marks but sometimes I just have to...)
Glad you enjoyed your first day back and how lovely that people are noticing the change in you. What a great feeling eh?
Aw red heart, so sorry to hear you are feeling so low. Don't beat yourself up because in actual fact, for a cheat, it was an incredibly restrained one!
You are in this for the long term, and none of us are perfect so we are certain to have bad days along the way. The important thing is not...
Yes thanks, much better! Saturday I was just wiped out and couldn't get out of my bed. More energy today. Just left with a tickly cough. Blame it all on my eldest who is a nursery nurse and brings home all the germs known to man
French Dijon is gorgeous. A bit hot for the kids...
Sunday PV
BF - porridge
L - lettuce, cucumber, tomato and chicken slices
D - strips of grilled steak on a bed of lettuce and grated beetroot with a little balsamic vinegar (so lovely)
2l water. 2 diet cokes.
Today (Monday) PP
BF - porridge (I could eat it all day!)
L - roasted chicken...
What a twat! Not you (obviously) your hubby's friend!
Sounds like you are back on track again and your menu sounds gorgeous! What is in the deli sandwich? Needing some inspiration.
Quick update.
The stall is officially OVER!!!
:party0011::wee::woohoo::party0049:
Have lost 3lbs and loads of cms! The cm thingy was worrying me more than the scales, as I have always found that if a loss wasn't showing on the scales, it would still show on the tape measure. For some odd...
Thanks so much for your lovely comments : ) Red Heart, you should see my kitchen this morning - envious wouldn't be the first word you would use...
Sorry I haven't been back on for a few days - been concentrating on getting rid of this cold and trying to keep on the diet despite dh doing the...
You will be able to lose that 3lbs. I would increase my walking or exercise just to make sure!
Great to see you are feeling so positive and committed again :)
Aw red. Sorry to hear about the migraine - hideous things :patback:
Don't worry too much about the slip-up. It's going to happen now and again isn't it? This diet isn't a quick fix, and there are going to be lots of ups and downs along the way, but the main thing is to pick yourself up and...
Well done for starting a diary - it all helps!
Just a couple of little points I noticed. Agree with Mirjam re the mince. Try to get extra lean mince rather than just lean, as it does contain too much fat.
Also, watch the WW yogurts. They contain 6.3g carbs which can mount up and might cause...
Oooooh I'd LOVE to got a murder mystery weekend! It's on my 'to do' list. Have you organised them before? Is it part of your job? <nosy>
I've been up and down weight wise for the past two weeks, which is a bit frustrating. It will eventually go though. Lucky you only have 20 more days on...
Aaaw thanks everyone. Feel absolutely horrendous today - can't breathe, agony sore throat, lost my voice (kids and dh are delighted!) and sore all over. So going to have Lemsips and steam my poor blocked nose as Mirjam recommended and take to my bed for the rest of the day.
:sigh:
However on...
Oops yes was PP!
Had diet coke all night at the ball, danced non stop for 3 hours and ate chicken legs from the buffet.
So a Dukan success! And a couple of people told me they are planning to start since it has worked for me :D
PV today but need to work out what I am going to have still...
I will Mirjam - Lausanne has already demanded a picture :D
Lausanne, my hair is VERY dark as is my scalp - oops! Am off to wash it again with Head and Shoulders in the hope that some of the dye disappears. Is in great condition though - very shiny.
Note to self - dark brown is actually...
Friday - PV
BF - porridge. Isn't it weird that it took a French diet to teach a Scottish person how to like porridge???
L - Eggs, turkey bacon, chicken legs (using up what's in the fridge)
D - Steak, pepper sauce made with 0% Greek yoghurt
2L Water and a few cups of tea with skimmed...
Why do I keep writing posts then losing them? Gah!
Anyway, good day today all in. Don't feel any lighter though and tape measure is still the same grrr. Anyway, we'll see what the scales have to say tomorrow... wish I could stop weighing every day.
Currently dying my hair for the ball...
The book is absolutely brilliant. It just makes so much sense!
Am looking forward to getting to know you a bit better on the boards. It's going to be a long road - but such a rewarding one!
sb, I know how difficult it is to deal with all the comments and 'eye rolling' from others about being on a diet.
However, if you give up now, you are just playing right into the saboteours hands. They can then turn round and say 'I told you so! It was just another diet fad. She has no...
October, it sounds like you have really thought about this seriously and I can't give you any advice as am not a long term Dukaneer.
Just wanted to wish you well in whatever you decide to do and hope you will stick around on the boards.
