    help

Only the calories count towards weight loss, but I also count protein & fibre. I keep a track of protein as it keeps me full (I aim for min 60g a day), and Fibre is good for your digestive health as well as helping to keep you full (I aim for 20g a day).

    A Cup Of Tea.......

.....is a dieters best friend!! Every time I get snacky, or I finish my dinner & don't quite feel full yet, I make a cup of tea & although I can't say it miraculesly removes all desire to eat it does help. My hands are occupied for the 20 mins it takes to drink it & the extra water does help...

5 Stone down....4 Stone to go......

I've started to believe that I only have the will power to do 2 things at once, at the moment the 2 things I'm focusing on are dieting and work, but once I add a third thing into the mix (like economising) everything gets a bit screwy. So I made a command decision this morning, while I wandered...

Is it really as simple as counting?

Yes!! Calorie counting really is that simple, eat less than you expend and you have to loose weight. However what you eat impacts how you feel & whether you can stick to the calories. I find if I don't eat enough protein then I over eat (especially if I've eaten a carb heavy meal), as...

Thinking of starting a VLCD, weight stalled currently, help!

Hi there!! Sounds like your having a bit of a tough time at the mo'. I don't have hyperthyroid, but I think if your not loosing fast enough with WW, then it might be an idea to give a VLCD a try for a couple of weeks. The dramatic calorie reduction could be exactly what you need to get your...

    ClaireCat: trials and tribulations

Hi Claire, Hope your feeling better today. Don't worry about the diet - you've lost so much, so well a week off will do you more good than harm. By the way, add some zinc tablets to your regime - zinc can reduce the length of flu by days!!

    Dear Diary

The good news: The interview went well....& I start on Monday. YAY!!! The bad news: Because i've had flu & lowered my immune system I've got shingles!! I've never had it before, but apparently anyone who has had chickenpox can get shingles if they are run down & stressed. Its really painful...

    Why did you choose Atkins????

When I told some people I was going on Atkins, on of the guys actually said that it is a dangerous diet & will cause 'brain damage'. I couldn't believe it.....he honestly thought that living on meat, fish, fruit & veg would cause brain damage. Completely insane.

The thing I like about being on 20g carbs a day is it means I can't even consider eating things that are bad for me. Day 2 failure :(

Don't do a water fast - there is a reason that no dieticians promote it. The reason that Cambridge is OK even with such low Cals is because it still has the protein & carb requirements that your brain & muscles need to function. Maybe you could give Cambridge another try with a shorter goal...
