Thank Bert, good luck to you too. You've lost loads, really inspiring! I'm now down to 18st (5lb loss this week) so I'm getting there.

Thanks so much! I'm not a member, unfortunately, as I can't afford it. I bought the starter pack from SE and am just trying to get by as best I can.

Can somebody tell me if oat milk can be counted as a HXA? I see almond and soy milk in the book, but no mention of oat. If not, please can you let me know the syn value? Thanks!

    18's into 17's

It doesn't like this forum sees much action these days but hi anyway! I'm 18st 6lbs at the moment. It was a bit shocked when I realised that this was my weight and I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be in the 17s within the next week or two. I'd love to hear from anyone on a similar...

What are the rules for flavoured water?

You know, the kind that comes in those plastic bottles with the pretty designs?! I tend to enjoy 'Thiswater', but there is also 'Vitamin water' and others. It doesn't seem like water should be syns, but I'm sure it must be! Does anyone know how many though..?

How many syns do you use a day / week

While I agree with you in principle, I think it's important to remember that a lot of people who turn to SW will have tried and failed with other diets in the past. Many are also very obese. Therefore, although takeaways and binge drinking are not ideal, I kind of feel that anything someone can...

I've just bought one of these fresh ready meals while buying some other stuff at the Co-op. I can find the syn values anywhere! Help!

How many syns do you use a day / week

Yeah that's true, but I generally stuff myself with free food throughout the day- plenty of pasta, veggies, potatoes, etc. Then I tend to use the syns for things that I wouldn't have even thought to eat before I started on SW. i.e. crisps and chocolate. ;-) I never go hungry!

How many syns do you use a day / week

Has anyone found their weight loss increases when dropping from 15 syns to 5 or 10? Mine's going slower than I'd like, so I might try this out for a week and see if it works.

Where do you notice weight loss first ...

Yeah, with me it's my face too. My eyes seem to look bigger and my nose seems to look smaller! Which is an optical illusion, but there's definitely more definition to my bone structure. Also a slightly more defined waist. Am hoping it shows on my thighs next!
  18. katieanna

What changes do you first notice in your appearance?

Wahness- I've noticed it in the waist too. Waist and face is just fine with me! A lot of people say they worry about having smaller boobs when they lose weight, but I actually prefer mine smaller so I'm looking forward to being able to get back into my B-C cups!

What changes do you first notice in your appearance?

Oh, whoops. I never have enough time to get through them all. :(
  20. katieanna

Does anyone find drinking water makes them feel much better?

It also makes you feel more full as sometimes thirst can be mistaken for hunger. I ought to drink much more, but unfortunately I am a bit of a low-calorie drink junkie: yuck! Also, it's annoying to have to keep running to the toilet at work when you're on 2 litres a day!

Welcome to Newbies 2013 - Say Hello here!!!

Good luck everyone! I have been on and off SW since I was 13 and have found nothing else to be anywhere near as easy to follow or as successful. Last time I went on the diet I lost over 5 stone and got to a size 12. Then it all went wrong! So a few years later I'm back and determined to do it...

Whats your food obsession since starting SW

Quark and natural yoghurt. @Goody, it doesn't really taste of much, it just gives dishes that kind of creamy, dairy texture you need sometimes! I tend to use it most for macaroni cheese. (Basically boil macaroni, mix it with cheddar and quark, add something like cooked onions and cherry...

    DOING SW FROM HOME???

I'm doing it alone too. For the second time- last time I lost five stone but everything went a bit wrong! I have all the books and I have the motivation, so I know I can do it without the weigh-ins. I am moving to Canada next year, which worries me since they also don't have SW there, and I'm...

Where the bargains are at and anything else thats useful.

Just wanted to say what a great thread this is. Shame I only live/work near Waitrose and Sainsburys! Could do with an Aldi or an Asda really.

What changes do you first notice in your appearance?

I was curious, does anyone else notice little changes immediately after starting a diet?! I've only lost about 16lbs so far, but I swear my face looks slimmer, my nose seems smaller, and my eyes seem bigger and brighter! I think it's partly psychological but I'm not complaining. Just thought it...

    Abit personal!

Best of luck! I think a lot of us can relate. When I wrote my list out I was actually kinda surprised how many of my motivations were health-related/everyday life, rather than superficial reasons like looking good in clothes. I suppose once you feel healthy and proud of yourself, the rest comes...

How many syns do you use a day / week

I usually let myself have up to 15. I find that psychologically it works well for me to have treats, within reason, as it means I don't feel at all deprived. Might try and aim to have less as I get nearer my target weight though.

    Tahini paste

So does this apply to both 'light' houmous and 'dark' houmous? I usually go for light houmous so I don't know what the difference is!

    SYN FREE YOGHURTS

Thanks Babysham80. It helps but I am devastated! I don't understand how I could eat these so much and lose weight before but now they aren't allowed. I knew they tasted too good to be free! Unfortunately natural yoghurt is gross. :-0 Anyone have any idea about the syns in the toffee "fat free"...

Cauldron falafel- are these 0.5 syns each or 1 syn each? I've seen conflicting information. Also, anyone know how many syns the Weight Watchers 'crustless pies' are? Four HEs on green?

Hi everyone, I've been following SW off and on since I was 13 (I'm now 28) alas this has unfortunately been more off than on over the last four or so years! Lots has presumably changed. I've got various editions of the books, recipes, numerous paperwork really. Just to clarify- is it...
