    alcohol?

Judging from these posts - http://www.minimins.com/cambridge-diet-faq-general-information/26311-dangers-alcohol-when-ketosis.html - side effects vary. I won't lecture you on how counter-productive it is to drink when doing Cambridge, because your weight loss and plan is your own business, but I...

    Back from holiday...

I hope you enjoyed your holiday, but I bet seeing that letter was a crash back down to earth! You poor thing. Will they let you pay in instalments? I'm sure you'll get back into the swing of things easily enough. What really matters is that you had a good time. :-)

    Back from holiday

Oh Louise, that's so frustrating for you! But I hope you enjoyed your holiday. The weight you gained was probably only water weight, so don't beat yourself up. It's important to make the most of the occasions in our lives that we can't get back, and I think holidays are a perfect example. I ate...

    Back from holiday

Hello everyone Hope you're all doing well. I've been away from the forum for a little while, and in fact I've just been to America for 2 weeks, so it feels like ages since I came on here. Well, I decided not to diet during my holiday, as it was full board, but I was surprised to get...

    Everythings changed, help!

I think you'd be fine with skimmed, because SS+ consist of 3 or 4 packs a day and 200ml of skimmed milk. With the 810 you are supposed to have some vegetables and proteins, but maybe your CDC could give you guidance on whether upping your milk allowance would suffice instead. :) Cambridge...

Weigh in ... crap crap weigh in!

I hope this will cheer you up a little - even though I know you're losing weight for health and not aesthetic reasons - every time you post and I get to see your picture I am blown away with how beautiful you are. You are absolutely stunning, and you will reach your goal some day. And we'll all...

Hello from LL to CD question please?

I believe the average Cambridge loss is 4lbs a week, so I'd say you could achieve your target. :) However you decide to get there, good luck with it! And welcome, if you're joining us! :)

Weigh in ... crap crap weigh in!

I'm so sorry you're feeling disheartened, though I completely understand why. This diet is a huge sacrifice and you want to be feeling like it's worth it. Have you increased your exercise at all? It may be that you're replacing fat with muscle, so still shrinking but not budging so much on the...

    Product combination

Hello, sole sourcers :) I am considering what to order for next week and was just a bit curious about the combinations that everyone else has. Do you have 3 shakes? 3 Porridges? 3 soups? A soup, a shake and a porridge? A shake, a porridge, a bar? Does it vary day to day? Do you have a weekly...

    The most horrible weekend

Again, thank you all so much for your support. It means a lot. I feel like I'm starting to get over the shock. Life's been a bit perfunctory this past week, and now it's all sinking in. So many unsaid things. Some of them better unsaid. Some of them I should have said more. Great things, what...

    Everythings changed, help!

I do not want to sound as though I am encouraging you, but at the end of the day you can buy whatever packs you need and no one is going to force you to eat the extra meal to take you up to a higher plan. The counsellor has to advise in accordance with CWP principles, to cover their own backs...

    The most horrible weekend

Thank you all so much for your kind words. It's been a rough few days but fortunately I've got a lot of very good people around me, and an incredibly supportive partner, so I've got a lot of support and kindness. I've actually decided to get back on the diet tomorrow. I'm going to have an easy...

    The most horrible weekend

In the early hours of Friday morning my mum died unexpectedly and I have stuffed my face all weekend. I feel so many different types of awful that I can't even count them. I feel as though this whole weekend was a nightmare, and tomorrow I hope to wake up.

    The temptation of food

It's day 18 of SS for me, and I have found that over the past week I've been more tempted than ever to "cheat". Week 1 was not a problem for me. I felt like CD was sort of made for me, because I breezed through the first week. Week 2 I started to get cravings. Week 3 and I'm at my most...

    Week 3 break out

This is my third week on Cambridge (day 18), and my skin has totally erupted. Anyone else going through a similar thing? I expected this in the first few weeks, but instead I've had clear skin to begin with and suddenly this rise of the titans. I'm looking at it as though my body is pushing...

Day 6 10lb down and im in the 18s yayyyyy.....

I've always found it hard to sleep but I can sympathise with the stomach growling! I'm on week 3 now and, though I don't feel hungry, my body keeps crying out. It's very embarrassing, in the middle of meetings etc. I do wish it would shut up!

Weigh Day 1: First weigh in

Just had my second weigh in. A 6lb loss this week. :) I'm happy, but for some reason I don't feel very motivated. Not that I'm going to let that put me off the diet. I guess I just feel a little deflated this week (no pun intended).

    Painful

I have a condition which manifests in cysts in the armpit, groin and other areas. It is hell. It's also linked to obesity, so maybe look it up and see if it matches your experience. It is considered rare, but I think most people who have it just don't come forward. It's called hidradenitis...

    Powered flavoured shakes (dry?)

I would double check the chemistry about this - as someone said above - it may be that water is necessary to release some of the nutrients. Other than that I would have thought it would be fine, with some extra water during the day. I may try the same thing tonight, so thanks for the inspiration!!

Knocked myself out of Ketosis ... help

Urgh. How frustrating for one tiny thing to do so much "damage"! Chin up, though - it's done now. I'm sorry that I won't be any help here whatsoever, but all I can really say is you know your own body, and whether you're the kind of person who gets into ketosis quickly. I wouldn't have thought...

    Soft fat

Sorry if this is an unpleasant question, but does anyone else feel their fat getting softer? Not that I had rock hard fat before, but my body felt jam-packed, like the individual particles of fat were wall-to-wall, and now it's like there's a bit of breathing space. I find my stomach much suppler.

    What's your relationship with food?

Jayellekay, that's so awful that you feel that way. Nobody should be crying in the toilets on their lunch break. You need to take a big look at all the things that are bringing you down. I wondered if it would be worth starting a "group therapy" kind of thread, for people who want to talk about...

Out of the zone and need help :(

I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I don't think anyone here would blame you for feeling down and anxious. Don't add to your existing misery by being angry at yourself: you're worth so much more than that. You had the weekend off. Maybe give yourself an easy day - no carbs, no sugar - and...

I haven't been here long enough to send private messages yet, Pandora, but I did just want to say that I hope you didn't think my most recent post was my way of telling you that you were being judgemental or spiteful, because that certainly was not my intention. What I, inarticulately, was...

    What's your relationship with food?

So I just posted in the somewhat contentious boundary pushers thread (;)) about large people already feeling judgement about their eating habits, and I realised that perhaps this isn't true; maybe it only applies to me and I project my condition on to others. I look at myself in the mirror...

    smaller losses...

Your loss may not have been what you'd hoped for, but maybe you've lost inches. Maybe your daily life, without additional exercise, has boosted your muscle mass. Don't be disheartened, hun. Reward yourself for your hard efforts with non-food items, such as a bubble bath and a face mask. You...

    VLCD Boundary Pushers

I'm really sorry that people have been upset by the discussion. Ultimately, we're all sacrificing normal amounts of food, even if we're having the odd bit or binge here or there, and we all need help and support. I don't want to stereotype, so I apologise if I offend anyone, but it seems to me...

What a nice hubby! I hope you have a wonderful time. Food-wise, DappyMare's right. I think chicken or fish is the way to go. Which city will you be in? Knowing that might help people come forward with suggestions. :)

Toying with the idea of doing CD again!

I sympathise. I hate any kind of "shake" and the soups are vomit-inducing. The only way I get around CD is to use ice, a straw, and aim straight for the back of the throat. I look at the diet as medicine. Take my medicine 3 times a day... count the days off... As it is I can only tolerate the...

    Secret eating/self sabotage

I know exactly where you're coming from. So far I haven't cheated on this diet, but it's only been 8 days. I'm a serial sabotager. Potential diets/healthy eating plans for post CD?

This is a very, very distant concern for me, but I was thinking maybe WW or SW systems. I also wondered whether I could get help on the NHS, like a referral to a nutritionist or something, who could work out some plans for me. Or maybe it'll be worth saving up and paying someone for a few...

    VLCD Boundary Pushers

I don't really care whether anyone else sticks to the diet properly. I mean, I hope they do, because I want you all to succeed. We all know how much it sucks to be fat! Wow... I can't believe she'd be so rude and unsupportive. Fair enough she may had struggled with diet, and not dealt with her food issues at the time, which allowed for the unfortunate events that followed, but if her opinion stemmed from genuine concern, the last thing she'd want to do is blank...

Yes, I suppose I'll just see how it goes, and keep re-assessing when I learn more about my shape and skeleton. Spangles, I kind of agree with you about attractiveness. Size in mind

So I've never, ever, been slim before, and I have very little understanding of my own bone structure and build. I've worked out that I'm probably apple-shaped, and Lord knows I'm always going to be top heavy, but the fact I know my body so little means it's hard to pick a destination. I know for...

    Coke addict

It's day 4 for me and I'm really suffering the effects of Coke withdrawal (the kind you drink, not the kind you snort!). When not on Cambridge (I've had a couple of false starts over the past 2 years) my liquid intake is entirely Coca Cola. I know; it's so awful. That's what made me so fat in...

    Hi Alll x

I hope you're able to find something for you that works. I exist solely on chocolate at the moment, because I've tried the other flavours in the past and I had trouble getting, and keeping, them down. Now that I stick to the ones I like, it's so much easier to stick to the CWP in general!
