    ~~Wednesday, Hour by Hour~~

LOL:D Don't know about lots of motivation! Would love to lose 2 stone by Christmas, or maybe more. I consciously don't set goals because if I don't lose a certain amount of weight each week I get very upset (I have experienced this in the past) and just feel like giving up. So I concentrate on...

    ~~Wednesday, Hour by Hour~~

Hi everyone, I'm a returner. Lost the plot over the summer, so this is my first day back on the plan. Doing 810. Had my first porridge this morning. Feeling a bit wobbly as went out for a meal with wine last night (my last supper:rolleyes:).

    3X PORRIDGE???

Hi Bev! Fell off the wagon for the summer, this is my first week back on again so wish me luck. Was pleased to find something new - the porridge, but will take your tip about the blender I think. Just a bit of a faff in the mornings. Anything else new in the Cambridge world?

    3X PORRIDGE???

Made porridge for the first time today, but it came out soooo lumpy! Can anyone give me some tips? I put the porridge in the bowl, added 140 ml of hot water, stirred it a lot, then put in microwave for 1 min, stirred it again, but it was still lumpy. How does everyone else do it?

Talking of blokes using straightners etc

I am just in AWE of this thread, I thought this forum had covered it all but just goes to show ... I would go for the scissor type ones as they are easiest to master, there are some plastic type ones which are much more fiddly... BUT! Sometimes I do makeovers on ladies, and the one thing that...

When will i see that gage move on the scales?

Best advice. Although it has taken me over 2 months to stick to it:D Markodie is right too, those scales - they mess with your head! We've all been there honey.:)

Question for those who have lost 50+ pounds

Don't say that! Get excited! :D:D You have lost 80lb, that's an amazing achievement. So you have some more to lose, but we all must celebrate along the journey (getting all hippie-ish here) otherwise it will be a slog.

Question for those who have lost 50+ pounds

I have lost just over 30lb and really started to feel a difference, so I can't wait to reach 50lb. For me it will be a halfway point to goal. I think this should be a permanent thread to encourage all of us who haven't reached the 50lb mark yet! Come on you 50lb+ share!:D

    Aerobics?

I am on 810 at the moment and have just started gym and have been told to eat some extra carbs while I'm doing it. My CDC is awaiting advice from head office. So I don't think it's a good idea to do aerobics on SS. Speak to your CDC first. You could do pilates or yoga though.

How much do i love slendertone

Can I just ask: where did you get your slendertones and how much do they cost? I had a look on amazon but it was all a bit confusing. Porgeous, your page is like a fashion parade! I always look forward to seeing your latest dress. You have great taste :)

    Anyone use a gym?

Yes, was thinking along these lines, at least for the days I was planning on going to the gym. It will be about finding a balance that will speed up my weight loss, yet not make me keel over!

    LIVERPOOL MEET 11-12 JULY

Hello all. I'm still hoping to pop along some time on Saturday, just trying to fit it in with family things, as I told Mrs D. The Liverpool One shopping Centre is brilliant, and there is a real buzz in Liverpool at the moment. Let's just hope the weather is OK! Especially if we are meeting at...

    Anyone use a gym?

I have just joined a gym. Trainer knows I am on Cambridge and is not thrilled but prepared to work with me. He wants me to eat some extra carbs before I do my work-out. He says otherwise I will not get the most out of the work out and feel awful. I can see his point of view, and one of the...

Well, it looks like i gotta go :(

First priority has got to be to see your GP. Assuming all is well, I would try, Cambridge Diet, but start on the 1000 cal, or you could try a diet called Vitaline. (Google it). This does work, but it didn't work for me cos I got fed up thinking of what to have to eat (which is why I prefer CD...

Fern Britton...Her business if she has a GB!

The one thing that no-one has mentioned is how long it took Fern to lose the weight. Three stone in two years? Must admit I thought the weight melted off with a GB, but just goes to show that even after taking such an extreme measure you still have a struggle on your hands. I'd rather stick with...

    Anyone on the 1000kcal option?

I'm on the 810 :) I didn't start out on it though, I started on Lipotrim which is the same as Sole Source on CD. Did this for 4 weeks then switched. I think you are very sensible to start on 1000, I'm sure you will have good weight losses. Then, if you plateau, or want to speed up your losses...

    Question.......

I switched from LT to CD and haven't regretted it. When you get the bars, you will think you have died and gone to heaven. I do the 810 diet, I have 2 shakes, 1 bar and a meal, and am losing 3lb a week on average, which I am happy with. I couldn't cope with 3 shakes only on LT, after 4 weeks...

Anyone going on hols in August?

Same here. I would be over the moon if I lost two stone before August, but I'm not going to beat myself up if I don't. Anyone going on hols in August?

I do a midway between SS+ and 810. I did do LT which is basically SS, but became really sick on it, had really bad tummy trouble, and found that a small meal suited me better. (Stuck it on LT for 4 weeks though). But I am very strict otherwise, no cheats. Have had two good weeks (3lbs), but I do...

Anyone going on hols in August?

I am off on 1 August, so I can't see myself losing 3 stone by then! Can I take voltarol?

Definitely seek your doc's advice on this one. I have taken voltoral for bad back, but any anti-inflammatory drugs can upset the tum (such as ibroprufen). So if you are having a bad reaction, tell your doc, or at least a pharmacist.

    Is your CDC special?

Don't! At least not because of your experience with your CDC. Find another. I just have, and she sounds much nicer than my previous one. Yours sounds like she was not doing her job, just selling the product. She should weigh you surely?

She sounds an absolute saint! Mine has been disappointing, and I'm looking for another. When I have had problems, she is not very supportive, never texts to see how I am getting on, and even suggested I eat some fruit last week! Where do you live louale? We will all be changing to your cdc:D

This is a really good idea and I'm going to put it into practice. second wekk 4th day not lost any weight!!!!!!

Just echo what eclipse says really. I would advise: 1 Stop having midweek weigh-ins (I know it's tempting, but if you haven't lost weight they can ruin the week) 2 Carry on drinking lots of water (I cut out fizzy water) 3 Remember that there will be weeks that you won't have big losses...

Don't expect to have much energy in the first week. Just concentrate on sticking to the diet and drinking loads of water. I stayed off coffee for the first week too, as it made headaches worse. You might feel a bit cr*p for the first week, but it does get better.

the cost of the cambridge diet

I did 4 weeks on LT and decided to change to CD. The CD shakes are lovely, loads more flavours (toffee, butterscotch, choc mint and lots more), haven't tried the bars but heard they are yummy. Works out about the same as LT, plus you get some books and a counsellor.

Nicki – I did think of this, and two weeks ago I did move from LT to CD with add a meal (a very small meal) because LT was making me feel so ill. Extrememly disheartened

Did you have your first weigh in at 3pm? On the same scales? Other than that, it must be your ps, can play havoc with your weigh-in, If you know you have stuck to it 100%, you will see the difference next week. I always weigh in first thing in the morning too.

  86. cee-cee

    Fizzy water

Who drinks fizzy water? I drink gallons of it every day. My weight loss has stuck, and I've just discovered that it contains sodium which can cause fluid retention. Why I havent been around and the diets gone right out the window...

Toni, it must have been such a stressful time for you. It's horrible when one of your kids are ill isn't it? Glad she is on the mend, and nice to see you back on the forum :)
  110. cee-cee

    Dilema...

You look fantastic in your pix, I'll bet he won't believe his luck! In my experience men aren't that bothered about extra weight, and if he is how shallow is that? As I've said before, everyone is so much more than their weight. Just relax and be yourself :)
  111. cee-cee

What were your reasons for starting LT

On and off diets all my adult life, always felt fat even when I was nine and a half stone. (Silly me) Progressively got bigger over the years, same old story. Big wake up call was my brother died a year ago, basically from diabetes and heart disease (heart disease a big killer in our family). I...

    hello just started :)

Well, as regards your sis, vain and bitchy are not very attractive qualities, so remember that the next time she criticizes you, and try and distance yourself. Don't react to her and see what happens. It may not have occurred to you, but she may be envious of you, and that's why she attacks you...

Aw, not a very nice sister! Try not to feel so bad about yourself, you are not that overweight. I would be absolutely over the moon to be your weight. I've lost 6 dress sizes in 4 months!!

Where did you buy the trousers from? Some shops have very odd sizes. I think Gap sizes are US sizes. (I couldn't fit into Gap's biggest trousers though!). And how tall are you? Anyway, why are you so worried about what's on the label? You have done fantastically well and I bet you look great...

Thanks everyone for all your replies, I will keep the books and try them when I get to target. I only paid £5.49 for the book/CD and I also bought the journal for £5.98 last week on Amazon. I bought another book, so if you spend £15, postage is free. Surely it's not selling for £25 on ebay...

Nic, 2 flapjacks a day is fine. I checked with LT. They are actually lower in carbs than the shakes (but slightly higher in cals). I had good weight losses and used them from week 1. So enjoy them and don't worry. Honestly, that Gary

    3 lb this week :)

Well done Toni. I lost 1lb, but i'm happy cos I was convinced i would put on weight the minute I ate real food! So I'm continuing to have one meal a day, and seeing the CDC today to work out a proper plan that lets me have 800-1000 cals a day and keeps me in ketosis.
  165. cee-cee

    first weigh in and depressed,,

If you had lost 7lb before this, then to lose a further 7lb is a brilliant weight loss. Most people have a big "last supper" before LT. I know I did! So it's probably more of a "genuine" weight loss.
  166. cee-cee

    first weigh in and depressed,,

7lb is a great loss! Well done! :party0019: Perhaps those who lost 12lb had more to lose. Remember that the first week you lose mostly glycogen and some people have bigger glycogen stores than others. Did you cut down on your carbs before you started LT?

Has anyone used Maintenance instead of TFR for weightloss?

Not sure what you mean by choc whip. Do you mean a choc shake? Because I don't think they have 35g carb, they have about 15g per serving. Plus they contain vitamins etc, and are designed to be a meal replacement, which a bowl of porridge isn't. I think you need to make the decision whether you...

its day 23 today of SS+

I think 1 stone in three weeks is great. Don't knock it! I have lost 19lb in three weeks on Lipotrim but have started having a meal this week, as I was feeling very ill, so I'm sure I will have gained a few pounds. Am considering changing to CD, on SS+ so I am interested in your story.
  169. cee-cee

Has anyone used Maintenance instead of TFR for weightloss?

There's a guy at my chemist who is doing maintenance and losing a lot of weight. I wish I had started off on maintenance and cut down to TMR later. I would say try it (if your doctor approves of course). I'm sure you would have a good weight loss.

    Im in Love...With Flapjacks!!!

Glad to see all the flapjack-lovers comin' out of the closet. I love em:D:D I prefer the coconut ones (although there's not much difference to be honest). I break them into little bits, and have a huge mug of redbush tea. Yummy. Or as close to yummy you can get on LT. Better than the "chicken"...

    Week 2 WI

I am drinking water and tea by the gallon! I am feeling a bit sorry for myself, it's true. I need to have a word with myself, I think. I know it's just PMT:(

    Week 2 WI

Well done:D. That's a brilliant loss. You are at the same stage as me, and I am at totm at the moment, except I am late, so I am feeling ravenous:sigh: Still plodding on though. Anyone got any bright ideas?

    MONDAYS

A redbush tea drinker! I only got into this when I started LT and now I don't drink any other tea. There is a vanilla version, but checked with LT and it's not allowed :( (it's delicious)

    okkk .. my Day1

Well done Sakthi for getting through your first day. As everyone says, it's the hardest. I've never split my meals up, but I might try that. Best thing to have an early night, if you're asleep, you can't eat! I've never slept so much in my life. lol! Good luck for tomorrow, and keep us posted:)

    O.K Whats it really like?

Just try it Shaz. I couldn't imagine myself doing it, but after 2 weeks, it's not as bad as I thought, and the weight loss is fantastic. Just tell yourself you'll do it for a week, I'll bet you'll feel very different. And it it doesn't suit you, then at least you have tried. Nothing ventured...

    aarrghh ive put on weight

Hi Gemma. Why don't you ring the LT helpline? Once I rang because I was feeling really weak and dizzy and they put me through to the person who does the voiceover on the DVD. (I recognised his voice) He seems to be the expert. That's what I would do anyway. You have had brilliant losses so far...

Weighed myself this morning, 2nd week...

Well done! Try drinking the shakes thru a straw, much quicker and you don't taste them as much.

Starting 2mrow - need lots of support, help

Hi Sakthi. I've been on LT for only 2 weeks, but can honestly say it's not been as difficult as I thought, and I felt very scared when I started day 1. I didn't know how I was going to survive the day, let alone the week. I felt sad reading your post, because your confidence is so low, and you...

    A Little White Lie.....

If it makes you feel better, my doctor was overjoyed with me doing Lipotrim. Maybe you should just check with yours just to be on the safe side. I'm sure your doc will be fine as long as you haven't got diabetes or anything ... I never used to tell my mother everything anyway!

Things to make you go hmmm...

Summer clothes! Excellent idea Lottie, although I'm not sure about the bikini idea, maybe 20 years ago – although who knows how I'll feel when I reach target. Looking at the fashion pages in magazines does inspire me on, I never used to bother looking before. Since I've started on LT, I've...

Anyone used the Fibre Clear Product?

I found fibreclear useless too. I took ONE senecot at night (half dose) in the first week because I have been very sensitive to laxatives in the past. This helped, but since eating 2 flapjacks a day, (I know, I'm strange) haven't needed to take anything. I've only been doing LT for 12 days...

Thought of another shake has me gagging, whats happened?

Try the flapjacks? I know most people hate them, but I find them OK with a large cup of black tea. You can substitute 2 a day for the drinks. Also I drink the shakes ice-cold, I put ice-cubes in the shaker, dunno if that would help. I'm on day 12 too:) (had mid-week weigh in yesterday and...

To think this started as a nice post, with nice things, like knitting and cross-stitch. And how long did it take to degenerate? Not very long at all!

    New Girl Reporting for Duty

Thanks Bea, and congratulations! Have had two June babies myself, it's a great month to have a baby, early mornings aren't so bad in the summer. My other daughter was born in December, and it was cold and dark, brrrr! Tracy, thanks for the reputation explanation, is there a tutorial thing...

Things to make you go hmmm...

I'm trying to compile a list of things to take my mind off food (and drink), sort of non-food-related treats, like a nice hot bath with posh bath oils, a facial, a new lipstick, reading a good book, a good film, even knitting –that sort of thing...I noticed on another thread someone mentioned...

    New Girl Reporting for Duty

Aw thanks guys... I feel like I am in really good company. Can't wait to get my proper computer back next week so I can see the Inspiration Slide Show. I'm having a mid-week weigh-in tomorrow (my normal day is Monday) so hope I see a bit of progress. Meanwhile, I'm just cruising around the...

    Hello I'm New...and I love this forum!

I've only told 3 or 4 friends, just to warn them I won't be eating or drinking socially. My sister is very supportive, as are my husband and children, and my GP is overjoyed! Wasn't expecting that! As for wishing we had done it sooner... there's no time like the present, I keep telling...

    Hello I'm New...and I love this forum!

This forum is going to be a real lifesaver, and everyone is so friendly. Lots of my friends think I am mad for doing Lipotrim and think I won't be able to keep it up in the longish term, it so reassuring to see others experiences and realise it can be done! Even though I have so much to lose (in...

    New Girl Reporting for Duty

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. i am determined to lose the weight this time, am so fed up of looking for size 22 clothes, and the last time I flew had to ask for the seat belt extender. I vowed that would be the first and last time! Also want to do it for health reasons. My much-loved...

    New Girl Reporting for Duty

Hi everyone. So glad to have found this site. I'm on Day 10 and feeling a bit "alone". I have battled with my weight all my life, have tried every diet under the sun, and had dismissed VLCD as a load of rubbish until I had run out of options. So after hearing a few success stories, decided to...

Hi guys! So the more water you drink, the more weight you lose? And do you think I should start a thread introducing myself? Do members do that? I feel a bit shy! Silly really I suppose...

    Week One...Done!!!!

Hello, I'm new Hi everyone, I'm so pleased a kind person pointed me in the direction of this site. I'm on day 10. Lost 9lb in my first week, but need some Lipotrim buddies. Have a long way to go. Start weight 18.8, goal 11 stone, so it's a long haul. One question I have is, I have noticed...
