JUDDD to finally get to goal

Well done, you can definitely manage a pound a week loss if you don't go too mad on the up days.

JUDDD to finally get to goal

I did Cambridge at one point too, and swore I'd never again do a diet that wasn't real food! CD worked but I truly hated it. JUDD works too, not fast, maybe 1-1.5lbs a week, but what other diet allows such flexibility? The plateaus can be a drag, but give them time and they pass. It's a good...

JUDDD to finally get to goal

I've just started doing the SIRTfood diet, it's more controlled in a way as there are no up days, but it doesn't involve counting calories. I was fine with that while I was trying to lose weight but got fed up with having to continue counting on maintenance. And once I'd stopped I got a bit...

    Disappointed at first weigh in

I've not done slimming world, but I know that weight loss varies a lot from person to person. I don't lose quickly, but I don't gain quickly either. The large first week losses are usually mainly down to water loss, and will probably be regained when the perosn stops dieting. 1-2lbs a week is a...

JUDDD to finally get to goal

Good luck with the weigh in. I used JUDD for losing my final half stone, and for maintaining afterwards. Eventually I simply got tired of counting calories so gave it up. Big mistake, the pounds started to creep on again!

Hi Joanne, hope you had a great weekend. Mine was so busy it was untrue. I drove down to London on Friday evening, hit ghastly traffic jams and it took three hours, so had a relaxed evening with my sister and her BF and a bottle of wine - regretted the wine in the morning. Saturday was the first...

Off to work in a minute but thought I'd pop in quickly first. I go to London this afternoon, nearly organised for it, going to be a seriously busy weekend. I love the theatre and didn't get to go nearly often enough when I was so busy rehearsing. So I've decided to make the effort to see...

Just got back from going to see a show with friends. It was really good and the female lead was fantastic, my only complaint was the boring choreography. I'm trying to make an effort to go to the theatre more, since starting this job I've been rather inclined to stay home in the evenings. I...

Hi, a very quick flypast from me today as we are going ot tonight and I have a ton of things to do when I get home. I do have salads after dancing, they don't take long to prepare. My problem is wanting biscuits with coffee and in the evening. The coffee one is easy, just drink something...

Hi, your life sounds very hectic, makes me dread our planned office move, should be some time in the Spring. You are doing well on the food front, not weighing is what I want to get back to, but last time everything went pear shaped so I'm not ready for that yet. Individual wrappings could be...

Hope you are OK. We are having cold nights with bright sunny days, hope this lasts for the weekend. I am finished for the week now, with a reading for our pantomime tonight and no big plans for the next couple of days. I've been trying harder on the diet front, I'm realising how much I had...

    put on a 1lb :(

How dispiriting, it is so tough in the early days. The bars shouldn't make much difference to your losses, but please please please don't eat anything outside the diet. It does work, I promise you, and it does get easier. There are lots of different strategies for dealing with the chatterbox, I...

Wow - 8-10 f&v is impressive. I'm never quite certain what constitutes a portion but think I do about 5 on a DD (very little fruit) and anywhere on an UD. That's where I'm trying to get more in. I'm sure planning like you do is the answer, I think I shall sit down this weekend and try to do...

Hi, haven't got on here in ages it seems, never time at work and today I started working again as soon as I got home (after grabbing a quick salad). Hi, I didn't get on here this afternoon as we went into town to get a few things. I'm much better today, I think I got dehydrated which brought on the sickness. Very tearful here, Cassie had to be put to sleep last night. We miss her terribly and it is going to be hard living in an empty house. Is Johnson UpDayDownDay Diet = Calorie Shifting?

JUDDDD just alternates between normal calorie intake and restricted intake of 20% or more of the normal amount. Calorie shifting or cycling varies more than this I believe. Both have the same premise, the body does not get used to a lower intake if your calories change frequently.

New boss, that will be interesting. What is the training for? I need to do clothes shopping too, the office girls dress much as I expected, smart(ish) trousers and shirts. I have enough to get by but could do with some more trousers which aren't linen - ironing is my pet hate. Work was OK, I...

Monday morning again, and I should be at my heaviest point of the week. Scales say 9st6.75 this morning, so it is looking good. What diet should I do?

I sneaked a look at your profile and see you are still in school, so maybe you'd find meal replacements a bit pricey. Hi Lyn, hope JUDDD works well for you. I think you could easily manage a couple of pounds a week if not more. Morning, and a very cold one here. I've been bad already as I made hot cross buns (tiny ones) and of course had to try one, although it is a DD. I'll be extra-restrained for the rest of the day to compensate. I eat carbs anyway so a bit extra doesn't make a lot of difference to me, but I am a...

Poor Ozzie, we have been through firework terror with our gsd x Cassie for years. Only now she is 13 and her hearing has become less acute has she finally stopped panicking. I don't have any cures I'm afraid, with Cass it was linked to winter evenings so she refuses to go out in the dark...

No progress on the weight loss front, but I must confess I haven't been trying. No gain either so I can't complain. There's not so much incentive to lose when the scales are OK and clothes fit. No doubt the urge will hit me as summer approaches, until then nine and a half stone will do me fine.

I tried weighing 3-4 oz of dry spaghetti, it would be a lot as an accompaniment although as a meal in itself with a simple sauce or pesto maybe not so bad, especially for a man.
