Leafletting is one of the main reasons I decided not to be a consultant. I was told it could take 12 Sundays a year, I can't do that many Sundays, plus another 12 for monthly meetings. We put junk mail straight in the bin, so I personally see it as a waste of time. I had access to a website...
Good luck everyone. I would have gone for my training on the 6th/7th September but have decided to pull out. I was extremely concerned about the number of weekends involved (at least 1 out of every 2) because my husband works shifts and I might never see him!!!
It doesn't cost anything to go to the op event (apart from childcare and petrol), so it's worth going any way. I found that there wasn't much need for questions, it was more a case of listening. We did introduce ourselves, but the information is so overwhelming, and I felt that they were being...
I 've passed the interview. I'm probably the same as you, obsessed etc. I don't have a proper job at the moment, though. I work for my husband a few hours a week, when i'm not looking after our 5 year old, so I have a bit more time than you had. I am worried about it but quite excited too, so...
Thank you, Rosie. That's really useful to know. Do you think it's possible to do the admin stuff on just one or 2 days a week, rather than spreading it out?
Wow!!! It has taken me 2 days to read every post on this thread. Thank you for starting this Rosie, and I'm sorry you and Awaywiththefairies have stopped being consultants. I had my interview last Wednesday and am waiting for the contract to come in the post. Perhaps, if I had read this...
Hi, well done for passing your first year of uni. You had a good loss this week. I can't go to group for 2 weeks and know I will have put weight on when I go back, as my jeans are feeling tighter!!!
I've lost 2 1/2 stone in 18 weeks (I think). Not quick, but not slow either. Very chuffed as I don't feel as if I'm depriving myself too much, and hopefully the weight will stay off.
I'm with you there. It was my daughter's 4th birthday party. I was really good at the party but there were loads of leftovers, and I'm steadily eating my way through them. Need to though, as I spent the weeks' shopping bill on the party and we have no other food till the next shop, lol.
Drink or weight loss? Drink - too ashamed to say!!! Weight loss - 2lb, but I didn't wear my big cardigan as it was hot on Wednesday, so I think that explains that! It's my daughter's 4th birthday party tomorrow, with 18 2-4 yr olds and matching parents, so will need at least one bottle of...
I'm chuffed as I won Slimmer of the Month today and 2lb off, meaning I'm out of here! Hope I never come back. Serve me right if I put on next week, lol.
Have a feeling it might take me a bit longer to get out of this group as I've had a naughty week. May actually have put on, especially as I lost 3 1/2 lbs last week due to being ill! Hey ho!
Did you parboil them for 5 minutes? I think you can pat them dry next, or just leave for 5 mins. Spray frylight on a baking tray, put the chips in, then spray the top of the chips, then bake for about 20 minutes.
I hope that helps, or have I missed something? x
Hoping to stay the same this week. I have eaten rubbish for 2 weeks, the first 2 weeks because I was ill (still, had a 3 1/2lb loss!) and the 2nd because I'm getting better! Hope I haven't undone all my good work.
Good luck everyone.
I only have a couple of pounds to go until I am out of this group, but last weeks weight drop was mostly due to illness, so I will probably put a little on by next weigh-in. Hey ho!
Lost 3 1/2lbs this week. Reached my 1 1/2 stone award and club 10. Have been ill this week though, hence a good loss, and couldn't stay to group as too ill!
1lb loss for me this week, after my naughtiest week so far, so really pleased. Going to make bit more of an effort this week, ignoring the takeaway curry tomorrow night.
Lost 1lb :-) which is much more than I deserved this week! I think the superfree soup worked.
As I'm new to Slimming World, I don't really understand green and red days. EE seems to be working at the moment for me so sticking to it for a while.
Hope you have a better week.x
I was good last week, 3lb, I think, the low weight loss was a few weeks ago. Got my weigh-in tonight. I've been eating super-free soup for a couple of days to counteract my bad start to the week. Hoping to STS tonight. Fingers crossed.
Well done for the loss. Perhaps having not much food the day before went against you. They say not to deprive yourself as your body tries to hold on to what it can.
The week I was really good was my worst weight loss!
Well done. You're doing better than me. I start the mornings well, but by the evenings, need all the naughty stuff!
Back to work tomorrow, though, and hopefully I'll stick to plan a little better.
I feel I need to stay to meetings as I might not be motivated if I just did weigh-in. My group has had a few consultants in the 2 months I've been going, but I think the current one is here to stay for a while. Also, it is my night out! lol
Thanks. Have had a nice grilled breakfast this morning so a good start. Trying to forget about the sweets and too much alcohol! I will be much better today. Hope you have a good day too.
A lot of people at my group say it makes a big difference. I haven't been going long enough to spot the difference yet. Perhaps it's better to think of your weight loss as over a month than a week?
Make sure you always have a third of superfrees on your plate with every meal, and that will be a start. eg, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, carrots, cauliflower, berries, apples, bananas etc. Not every fruit or veg is in this list so beware.
I can't believe how much everyone is losing. It's brilliant. Just what I needed to read as I've just had a naughty 12 hours eating sweets and chocolate for the first time in nearly 2 months.
Sorry you've been having a rubbish time. Posting a food diary, as mentioned by shellsbells, would be a really good idea, and a quick way to find out where you are going wrong. You are close to my weight and I've lost 18lb in 7 weeks and am only just thinking about exercise, so you're ahead of...
Hi. I've lost 18lbs in 7 weeks and won slimmer of the week 4 times, so feeling really chuffed at he moment, although, I know it's going to get tougher nearer target.
I sometimes have to think of my syns on a weekly basis or I wouldn't manage, and I haven't had any problems losing the weight so far. Although, I do have rather a lot of weight to lose!
I use silicone egg poachers too. I got mine from the Steamer Trading Company, somewhere about £3-6 for 2. Perfect eggs everytime, but as said before, put the lid on.
I lived off pasta and tinned tomatoes too when I was a student, which at least fits in with Slimming World. I think I saw on someone's post that Morrison's were doing 30p bags of fruit and vegetables. Chicken thighs and drumsticks are fairly cheap too.
I must admit though that my shopping...
I've recently joined SW and they suggested 10 syns a day, as you thought. I don't know about Red and Green as they suggest everyone starts on EE. EE is working for me as I'm roughly losing 3 lbs a week. Don't know if that's helpful?
Hi Joiningagain,
Looks good to me, as long as your superfrees take up a 1/3 of your plate. Although I am new myself and have only been with SW 4 weeks.
Good luck with your weight loss.
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I started Slimming World 4 weeks ago and have lost 12lbs to date. Please could someone tell me how you put your SOTW awards on your posts? I'm very proud to have won SOTW 3 times in a row, although I do have a lot to lose! :)
