cook until soft add sweetner and cinnamon. or grate raw butternut and pineapple. sweeten with a little sweetner to taste. refridgerate and serve cold. both very lovely curry
My name is Vanessa. But a long time ago a guy at work called me Big V. It was like a stab in the heart. Hopefully I'll be able to change it by the end of 2012 (thats my goal)
If you have the plain Biltong without the fat, then it should be free. But its the supermarket biltong in the expensive packets that will have syns. If its sweet then they have put sugar in it and thats not true South African biltong.
Try this website, its the good stuff. Susmans Best Beef...
Hi,
I've just ordered a slowcooker recipe book from Amazon this week. After a friend recommended it. ULTIMATE SLOW COOKER by Sara Lewis = £5-69.
In the front of the book it shows you different ways to use the slow cooker. You can even make puddings in it.
Can't wait for mine to arrive...
Do the helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon, with the stop at the bottom of the canyon and the picnic lunch. They will fetch you and return you to your hotel. Its pricey but worth every pennie. Or hire a car and go to the Hoover dam.
The hotels have massive buffets, so you can choose what...
I've also noticed that supermarket fruit doesn't get ripe. The supermarket stuff is boxed and transported when they are still green and then artificially kept in cold storage, as soon as we buy them and keep them out of the fridge (which is natural) it rots.
The trick is to eat it ASAP

Hi, just tell the person that is weighing you to do it in kg's. I do that at class. They just have to press a button and the scales convert to kg. mine is written in kg rather than lbs in my book.
Delete them. There not worth wasting the energy on. They will soon be asking you for a "copy of the diet"
well done, keep up your good work and make them eat their words.
Ive discovered - Coconut essence. Ive bought it from the Indian food shop. I put a few drops of this in my curry and mix in fromage frais. Its syn free and taste the same as coconut milk. You wouldn't know the difference.
Has anyone else tried it?
Its free. My consultant had the old tin and the new tin in class a few weeks ago and she told us it was still free. Its only the packaging that has changed.
How can I forget my favourite!
Mix quark with a packet of Smoked salmon offcuts (the cheap one)
Some black pepper and lemon juice to taste.
Place in the fridge.
Love it on Pagen Krisprolls, Ryvita Wholegrain or toast.
Im going to make it right now. Ready for my Saturday late afternoon nibbles.
Mix some Chocolate Options into them and it will taste like chocolate mouse.
Stir into pasta - it makes a creamy sauce. (after taken of the stove, otherwise it will turn into water if you keep cooking)
Use as you would normally use cream or mayonaise........
mix with spices and tuna over a...

If you eat cheese....don't fart!

I love Aromat. I use it on everything. When I lived in South Africa it was used instead of salt. Its a must have in my cupboard. So glad you have also discovered it.
Try it on eggs, you will never use salt again.
Ive got an under active thyroid and on 75 micrograms of thyroxin a day. Im 45 years old. Im following the SW diet and mix my days with mostly EE and Red. Ive lost 3 stone in weight and my weightloss in nothing different, on a weekly basis than the rest of the group. I would say that mine is...
Hi, Nightwishing
Greggs the Bakers, do a Rye roll, which is 1 Hex B per roll. Its about £1-20 a bag of 6 rolls. Its lovely and taste nothing different from a wholemeal roll. You can use it anyway you like. Give it a try.
Hi, Nat
So glad you are back. I love reading your stories and you have given me so many good ideas in the past. Hope your health has improved. I also fell of the wagon for a couple of months but I've been back at class for 5 weeks now. My heads in the right place and I'm NOT giving up...
Hi, Jo
I've lost 2st and have another 8st to go. Sounds a massive task, but breaking it down into smaller chuncks, makes it so much easier to achieve. There is so much good advise from everyone here. Remember to never go hungry andhave some syns. Planning your meals and having something...
I find the best way to cut the Butternut is to lay it on its side and cut it into rounds, about inch wide, then its easier to just cut around each round, like you would peel a potatoe. I then cut it into chunks. I love to add some sweetener to mine and mash it up. (suger and a dollop of...
Ive had the same issue everytime Ive joined a new group. I get bored sooooo easy. I also dont like it if they just go on and on and on about syn values of alcohol and how much they have drunk over the weekend or holidays and JUST picked up 5lbs.
The one I have now thinks she is a standup...
Hi, Avisk
I would not say anything and keep a distance from this person. If you do say something and this person causes trouble, you might get dragged into it.
Take a tip from an old fool, who used to get involved in everything. Keep a distance and focus on yourself. Its so much less...
Hi, Jodidi
Same thing happened to me this week. Ive lost 3st but the photos are still fat. At the start I was 10st overweight and to me I didnt feel that fat. I just think its the self-image you have of yourself and how confident you are within yourself. But I also do know that there are...
Hi, Corrina
Which class do you attend in Sunderland. Im at St Timothy's with Jill and she gives out the certificate, Gold "slimmer of the month" sticker and a fridge magnet "slimmer of the month". I remember when I was at Wendy Georges class at St Gabriels, she gave the sticker etc in class...
Hi,
Our consultant was telling us that if you took a wrap and put any filling you liked in and then brushed some egg around the edges and folded the wrap in half and brushed it with more egg all over. Put it in the oven and baked it, it tasted just like a Greggs pasty.
Hi, all
Live in the present. Be conscious.
Stop dwelling in the past or worrying about what could happen. Live your life now and be conscious of what you are doing/eating!
Hi, Jacqui
Me and you both feeling the same today. I lost 1 pound at the class this morning. My consultant asked "who feels like giving up at this moment?"...I put my hand up and thought she didn't see it, and when she asked why I just started crying.....I couldn't give her an answer. It is...
Hi, all
I'm in the same boat. My biggest tip is to use every single bit you have.
eg: I don't put the potatoe peels in the bin. I wash and dry them. Put them in the oven and spray Frylight over them and any spices or just plain salt. They make lovely "crisps"...if you are not going to use...
Hi, Donnie
Please let us know how your yoghurt came out. I was thinking of getting an Easyo myself. Been looking on the QVC website and checked out the syn values online. Fat Free flavours, Skimmer and Fat Free Greek, all free.

Hi,
My husband and I go together and I feel left out. My consultant makes a lot of fuss about him.
Last week he got Slimmer of the month. I picked up 1 pound. She fussed about him and never asked how I felt.
It really got to me, as we both eat the same food. I do all the planning and...
Hubby and I went to our favourite Cafe for a full English breakfast this morning. And it tasted oily. No visible oil but I could taste it.
Oh, and the smell from the chippy....not good.
I seem to have totally gone off coffee. I now prefer tea. Very strange. Everything taste either more...
I know how you feel. I started again 2 weeks ago and in my first week only lost 1/2 lbs. Soooooooooo disapointing and I stuck to it 100% Hubby is doing it with me and we ate the same food. He lost 6 1/2 lbs. I really wanted to give in, but then my fighting spirit took over and this week I...
Tomorrow morning Im going to try cutting a tomatoe in half. Taking out the picks and breaking an egg into it and then grilling it in the oven till done. Don't know what else I'll be having with it. But thats taken my fancy for the minute.
Mine works overtime. But Ive only just done meat, stews and soups. I bought a slow cooker recipe book from WH Smiths last weekend and it has loads of pasta recipes as well. Never thought of doing that before.
Books called "Kitchen classics - Slow cookers" by Jane Price @ £12-99 but worth...
Hi, all
Mine is food in general. Anything goes. Lately Ive discovered a taste for Cadburys dairy milk chocolate. Which has spured me on to join Slimming World again. This is my first week back. So wish me luck.

Hi, all
Im quite tired now. Worked from 9 till 4. Then filled the slow cooker with some soup. Then did some house work. Sitting down with a little drink and its going straight to my head. Cheers!!
Hi, all
Nothing wrong with freezing rice. It freezes beautifully. Ive done it many a time. You can even get ready cooked rice in the freezer section of the supermarket.
Only thing you need to be careful of is not to reheat it more than once.
Other option is to get yourself a rice...
Sorry, Vampalicious but Im out of energy as well. Could be from all the food Ive been eating over Xmas. I desperately need to get on track again, very soon. I keep on saying tomorrow......
Hi, Louise
You sound bored. I know how you feel. Im totally the opposite of you. I love my red days and get hungry on the green days. I just dont feel full on them and then I get picky and just loose it.
Whats putting you off. The meat or the cooking?
On quick and easy red days I...

Hi, Rainbow
Just stumbled across this site and hope to be a regular. I was brought up in South Africa and as a kid my mother made Butternut with sugar and butter (yummy)....I now make the Butternut with a little powder sweetner and mash it. (Its extra good with a nice...
