    Ooops!

totally agree - even though this diet has lots of lovely food, it's still hard, you're still cutting things out from the diet, and one of the hardest things I think is that you can't always eat what everyone else is eating. It was a blip, we all have them, dust yourself off & get back on the...

Dotty's Doing the Harcome Diet - week 3 and going well

Crash away - I don't mind :p You're right though, it's worth bearing in mind Karen, if you're intolerant to anything, eating it could give you a water gain and prevent you from losing. Is there anything you're eating a lot of and really enjoy? Could you cut it from your diet? This diet...

The diet book's very good, I've got it and there are loads of recipes in there. You can use low-carb recipes, some may need tweaking slightly - I made meatloaf yesterday which is a low-carb dish and I just had to substitute the mayo for greek yog - still tasted great!

    Ooops!

Aww that sucks and I feel your pain as I'm still missing sweet things although I wouldn't say I'm craving them, but would just like something sweet now & again. Just put it down to experience and get back on track, it may be worth going back to phase 1 for a few days and then introducing new...

I didn't think you could have green tea on Phase 2 because of the caffeine, if you really want some caffeine though it's best to have it just after a carb meal as your insulin levels will be affected anyway by the carbs

    Week 3 and feeling great!!

It could be that you have candida quite severely and therefore it's taking longer for it to die off & leave you feeling good again. Everyone I've spoken to on the Harcombe Diet forum says that it does get better, we're all different and feel the effects of the diet differently. I'm feeling...

Harcombe Diet ......what are we eating today?

Finally made the BNS curry last night, yum, yum & double yum - even hubby who was very wary of having a vegetarian meal enjoyed it. Took forever to make though, I think next time I'll just add the BNS to the curry and cook the other veg separate - you need a huge pan to cook it all in too - but...

You're welcome Just a thought - have you tried the greek yog recently, cos I bet as your tastes change and you'll go off sweet things I wouldn't mind betting you'd find Muller's too sweet & the greek lovely and creamy and not so sour - might be a worth a try :D

    Advice needed

Hi there, I'm still in Phase 1 of the diet but will answer you q's as best I can. You can re-introduce bread in phase 2, but it has to be wholemeal rather than white bread as the idea in P2 is to eat no processed foods - e.g. white bread, white rice, anything with sugar in it. You can have...

Harcombe Diet ......what are we eating today?

As I see it if you're having it with meat then you can have a fatter milk, rather then skimmed as it's going with a fat meal. For the yoghurt I don't think you can have flavoured as they'll have sweetners in them, you don't have to have greek, could have just plain natural yoghurt, but I...

    What is the point?

Just to re-iterate what everyone else has said, that you will lose weight on this diet - you can't not. Just don't lose heart & give up, see what next week brings & hopefully you'll be a lot happier then. Most people lose, on average 3-5 per week on SS, but some are slower losers. Even if...
