Xmas challenge - FGS's Diary to blast off this regain!

Hello All! I used to have a diary in the SW section, but I decided to try WW. I liked SW, but felt like I needed a change, as I've been gaining recently. So, back in the summer, I got to 8stone 11pounds, but now I am nearly 10stone again. My goal is to get to 9stone 2pounds in the next four...

Welcome! It is definitely possible to do SW as a vegan. I have found my syns creep up a bit recently, but that's just disorganisation, and getting so hungry I have to wolf down raw bars etc. I've lost a couple of stone since doing SW as a vegan. Good luck!

The long journey to the real me

Was good to have a day on plan yesterday. I do find that when I'm doing SW, I can end up eating a lot of processed foods if I'm busy - tinned beans, vegan sausages etc, but it's helpful to have those foods to rely on until I get into the swing of eating less, and cooking SW-friendly meals...

    ARGHHHHH!! Mid-week weight gain?

Yep - good advice. I cannot take a gain! It ruins my day! I am addicted to the scale though, so it's really hard to not weigh myself. I threw my set away, and only used the ones at SW, then I got a new housemate who brought a fancy schmancy digital fat measuring pair, and I can't stop...

Do you think SW has changed your life, or changed you as a person?

I used to do the 'day off' diet thing too! I'd stuff my face all Sunday, then wake up on Monday feeling really depressed and willing the week to disappear so I could have my food day again. Crazy.

anyone else got a rubbish/indifferent consultant?

Can't believe what a mixed bag they are...just a matter of luck whether you get a good consultant, or at least one who likes you, I suppose. I am finding a new group as my old one is drop-in, so weigh in only, no image therapy. The consultant was ok the week I joined, but told me I could only...

    Baked beans obsession!

Also...I have read that the flavoured ones are free too...Mexican Spiced and BBQ. MMMMM. Never used to eat them much before SW, but have them nearly everyday now! Am becoming addicted meself!

    Whats for tea tonight?

Slimming World vegetable madras curry - realised I haven't been eating anywhere near enough veggies this week!

anyone feel like they going get a gain even though been good?

I'm ALWAYS scared that I won't have a loss, or will even gain. I think it's because going in to get weighed is so much more dramatic and epic than just weighing yourself at home! It's true (certainly for me, anyways) that sometimes you just don't have a loss when you've stayed on plan...

Do you think SW has changed your life, or changed you as a person?

Hi, The main thing I have noticed from doing SW (even though it's only been five weeks so far) is how liberating it feels to eat like a 'normal' person - or how I imagine 'normal' people (if there is such a thing!) eat. I feel like I'm free from the prison of over-eating. It sounds really...

    ARGHHHHH!! Mid-week weight gain?

Wow - never even thought about ovulation gain! Am going to try and see if I can see a pattern though. Eeek - official weigh in tomorrow!

    ARGHHHHH!! Mid-week weight gain?

Silly me! Should have looked first. Thank you both for replies - am going to look this topic up, but already feel a bit better. Cheers!

    ARGHHHHH!! Mid-week weight gain?

So...been losing steadily at around 2lbs per week since I started 4 and 1/2 weeks ago, stupidly decided to jump on scale today, and have put on nearly a pound since my last weigh in. I've stuck to the plan. Heard that lactic acid when you start exercising can look like a gain? Did some...

    Tuesday At Home Weighers!

JoFlo2 - Well done! For some reason, breaking that ten stone barrier is the magic number for me. You must be well chuffed with yourself.

    Tuesday At Home Weighers!

Lost 1 and 7/8 of a pound this week, which I am going to count as 2lbs as the slimming world site doesn't use increments of less than 1/2lb! Fairly happy, but it's only week four, so to lose just under 2 pounds is a wee bit disappointing. This coming week, I am going to start some exercise...

    Vegetarian Red Days?

Ooooh, what's an acti-fry? Is it one of those fryers where you only need a spoon of oil? Is it any good? I must admit, when I do veggie red days, I generally use both my HEBs on wholemeal bread, so it's not a particularly low carb day, although a lot lower carbs than green days. I also eat a...

After a few weeks attending group, is it worth going it alone? Opinions please!

Hi Lily, Thanks so much for the info re: online services. I definitely don't want to lose them, and doing it online seems so much more expensive than classes? It's so useful getting insight into how it all works from people who have experience with it. Congrats on the weight loss - very...

    Vegetarian Red Days?

Do it! I find I eat so much more superfree, as I'm not filling up on starch. It's win-win! (Except for not quite as yummy!)

Thanks for all these answers - I think I'm going to follow the advice and find a group with image therapy. Cheers!

    Vegetarian Red Days?

Thanks. Good to know that it is possible and I'm not getting it wrong! Celeriac is a really amazing potato substitute - it's lovely roasted, tastes just like roast parsnip but a lot lower in carbs and cals! And you can do nice veggie sausage casseroles with a tomato passata base. Red days...

    Vegetarian Red Days?

My consultant told me I had to do all green days, as I don't eat meat or fish, but actually, it seems like I can do red days, using tofu and meat replacement products as my free food. Also, eggs are high in protein, so are good to base meals around. I suspect that I personally lose more using...

After a few weeks attending group, is it worth going it alone? Opinions please!

Yeah - it's good for buying the books, cheaper mags, hifi bars etc, but you can be in and out in five minutes! I'm willing to spend money to get to goal sooner, but it seems crazy to pay someone £5 just to weigh you! Also, I feel I might be missing out on 'image therapy.' Having only been to...

After a few weeks attending group, is it worth going it alone? Opinions please!

Thanks so much for the reply - sounds like your weight loss is amazing so far! only 1/2 pound to go until one stone - can't wait to get there myself. A proper group instead of just weigh -in definitely sounds better.

After a few weeks attending group, is it worth going it alone? Opinions please!

Hi, Tomorrow will mark the four week anniversary of me starting slimming world. Found it fairly easy going so far, and am hoping for another pound or two lost in tomorrow's weigh in (7 pounds so far). My local group is just a drop-in, so we go, pay and literally just get weighed. My bus fare...
