    Miss Williams's Last Attempt

Don't you like vegetables? That's why I don't do EE very often, the 1/3 superfree is too complicated! You could try some red days and some green days, mix it up a bit, that way you get extra healthy extras.

    Losing the will to Lose

I've felt like that plenty of times, but everytime I give up I just pile the weight back, so I have now given up giving in. I will sometimes have a day or two of being very 'naughty' to get it out of my system til next time, but then I get back on plan because I know the consequences. I've been...

    2nd day

Are you both doing extra easy? If so, make sure you're having 1/3 superfree veg with your meals. The trick to resisting temptation is make sure you're not hungry, it's much easier to fall of the wagon if you're starving! Fill up on free food and fruit. I ate loads in my first week.

I'm 47 this year and dreading the menopause. I think my Mum was 48 when she went through the change. Won't miss periods but I'm dreading hot flushes, especially at work, it gets too hot and stuffy in the office already. They say it can be harder to lose weight after the menopause, but it's...

I'm on green and its WI tonight, so when I get back I'm having wholemeal pitta bread stuffed with falafel and humous mixed with natural yogurt, and salad on the side. Can't wait! Not sure how many syns in the pitta, but its after WI so doesn't really count... ahem!

I think its probably good to do a mix of the plans, that way you can't get stuck in a rut of eating the same old stuff all the time. The worst SW Ive had!!!

I've been on a bit of a junk food bender this weekend. Not sure why, something just possessed me and I went mad. I'm hoping its out of my system now and I'm back on plan today. Normally I'd just think 'that's it, diet ruined' and completely give up, but not this time!

I'm like that, all in all I've only lost 2 pounds in nearly 3 months! Some days I'm really good and motivated, other days I just think sod it and eat crap. Sorry I can't help, but I know just how you feel.
  18. dehli

    absolutely gutted!!!

Why don't you add 13 lbs to your starting weight, that way it won't feel like you've lost nothing. You could try a friend's scales, see if they're nearer the new ones. If they're not, take the new ones back!

Original Second time round at SW, new to the forums- original question?

If you're a veggie there's no point doing a red day. Stick to green, just make sure you're varying your food. My weight tends to stick if I eat the same old things day in day out. Eat lots of veg/salad with your carbs and you'll be fine.

    Supplements

I take glucosamine sulphate and honeygar (foul stuff) as I have arthritis. I also take multivitamins with iron every day. I find I get less tired now because of them. I don't eat a lot of red meat or spinach etc and have heavy periods so feel I need the iron.

Small amount to lose, why so hard?!

I think the less you have to lose, the slower it is and the less you can eat. Also, because other people can't see that you obviously need to lose weight, you probably don't get the same sympathy/encouragement. Good luck, you just gotta stay focussed and don't give up, even when you have a bad day.

does everyone binge after weigh in????

I don't binge, but I usually have a treat such as a creme egg. I don't use all my syns during the week, so I'm still within my syn allowance.

Do you think you can eat too many eggs?

I eat lots of eggs and don't suffer with constipation. Tuck in, but make sure you eat a varied diet.
  81. dehli

Doing EE - are there any benefits of green days?

With green days you can also have nuts and humous as a hex B. If you don't eat meat, you're not doing EE anyway, you're doing green without the extra hex a (if you want it) and hex b (which you're meant to have).

I've got WI at 7 but I'm not holding out much hope for a loss this week. I had chocolate cake at work yesterday (someone's birthday at work, AND it made me feel sick, totally not worth it) and I'm due on at the weekend.
  84. dehli

What have you given up completely?

I've given up white bread, proper cheese, margarine and normal fizzy drinks. Along with the frozen pizzas, chicken products etc. Mum doesn't go to Iceland any more!
  85. dehli

    Sainsbury's beef and gravy

The beef in gravy packs are handy, but the portions are small so if you fill the rest of your plate with veg its actually a low calorie meal. You don't get a lot of gravy and most of it is probably water.
  93. dehli

what do you eat on weigh day?

  101. dehli

    Does anyone struggle???

What are you finding hard about it? I don't often do EE as I don't like the restriction of 1/3 superfree. I used to drink quite a lot at the weekends, and often a glass of wine with dinner, but now I usually only have half a bottle of wine at the weekend at the most, sometimes I only have one drink a week! It's just too high in syns, I still like it. I don't miss the hangovers though.

    Original Finding red days hard

I find red days hard too, so I mainly stick to green days (and they're cheaper). Do you like fish? You could eat tinned sardines in tomato sauce, or my favourite, curried mackerel on toast with salad - its in the same sort of tin as the sardines etc. And don't forget tuna, you could always...

Right roast dinner at oh mums, what to do??

I love yorkshires, I'd miss the potatoes and have them instead. And make your own gravy. Mums are good at sabotaging diets, I know mine always tries to.

    I am so pleased

That's a fantastic weight loss, well done. I can't believe you dropped your trousers in class though lol, I'd never do that!

have been trying to cope without

I've kept a food diary for the last 2 weeks and put on half a pound in that time so I figure I'm better off not writing things down as it makes me think of food more! Its easy to keep track of your a's and b's and I tally the syns in my head. You could just write it down on a bit of paper, or...

    oh my god help!!

Is it totm? Are you constipated? Don't lose heart, it's just a blip. I know it's annoying when that happens, but I'm sure you'll have a good week next week. Are you keeping a food diary?

Asparagus.... can't get enough of it!

After reading this I've bought some asparagus, it was on special offer at £1.49 in Sainsbury's. Now I just need to work out how to cook it!

Hoping to join you all very soon

You need to get rid of your ww thinking when you do sw, it's completely different, that's why we love it! When I did ww I ate lots of processed stuff simple because it's easier than weighing everything and working out the points. sw is much easier once you get your head around all the free...

    A few questions :)

I'd say you're eating fine, but try and get more veg and fruit, you're not even having your 5 a day. Some weeks we do stay the same, it could be totm. How much do you have to lose? If it's only a little it will be slower coming off. Are you exercising? If so, muscle weighs more than fat and...

Stick the diet on hold, it can wait. I hope your problems ease soon, good luck x

    Is this too much food??

I'd say it's not a lot if you were hungry. However, if you're eating from boredom then it's something to be tackled. I eat a lot, today I've had breakfast: oat so simple with scan bran (hex B) and grated apple in it, and milk (hex A). snacks: pear, fruit salad lunch: salad with a boiled egg...

I just wanted to share with you all..

    Brilliant, well done!

    My breakfast

Well done! I have to have carbs for brekkie, I'm tucking into oat so simple with a scan bran in it, and grated apple mixed in. Looks yukky but tastes nice and it'll keep me going til lunch hopefully!

    Thursday weighers?

I put on half a pound, which wasn't surprising considering what I ate at the weekend! Never mind, it's a new week now.

    what yours.........

I seem to be having a lot of downfalls lately. Eating out is a biggie, bank holidays, weekends, also chocolate (especially when its totm) and wine. I'm more likely to 'fall' if I go too long without food and get too hungry. I think I need to sort my head out a bit and give myself a good...

why cant i loose on EE

I only have EE days now and then, I think my portion sizes are the problem that's why I prefer green days. On EE, I find I'm unable to snack, as you have to have a third of superfree each time, so I get hungry and end up having loads for dinner. I also don't like only having 1 of each healthy...

    please help me...I need advice

You could microwave some batchelors savoury rice and take that. Cold hard boiled eggs could go with it, or some leftover quorn sausages. I have a food flask and sometimes take canned vegetarian ravioli to work.

    HEXB Enquiry

yes you can. It's just pitta bread that can't be a hexB.
  244. dehli

    Eeeek! I can't stop....

I usually have to get up once or twice in the night, but I have a hot drink or two right before bedtime (silly I know). Try to have the bulk of your liquids before 6.

Need to ask someone......all advice taken :-P

I go to slimming world and some people have fantastic weight losses to start with, but 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy loss. It also teaches you healthy eating. Don't worry about the numbers, whatever you lose will boost your confidence no end. And don't buy the dress too soon or it won't fit if...

    going it alone?

If that's a typical red day, I'd say you're not having all your healthy extras and not eating much free food (the only meat you had was the chicken) so maybe you're not eating enough and your body is going into starvation mode. Also, are you counting all your syns because flora light, orange...
  247. dehli

    Healthy extras

Because they're lower in fibre and higher in sugar. You can still have them but you have to count it as syns. If you buy puffed wheat (with no sugar) 28g is a huuuuge bowlful. 28g isn't a lot, but it's easy to eat a lot of calories with cereals, that's why its limited. Try adding fruit to bulk...

    Just about to start!

Good luck! I think it's worth joining a class even if you only go once to pick up all the leaflets and maybe buy some recipe books. Going to class keeps me on the straight and narrow, because when I have a blip, knowing I'm going to get weighed on a Thursday stops me giving in completely.

Just started SW...is it normal to feel sooo bloated on green days?

I have mainly green days as I don't feel I'm on a diet on green. I don't suffer with bloating, but I do get very windy. My poor other half is used to it now lol. Have you tried eating 'live' yogurts, they may help with the bloating.

Flexi days + further down the road

I don't often use the full syns every day, then I don't feel so guilty when I have a 'flexi' day. I make sure I eat all my healthy extras though. I'm sure over the week I have more than my syns, and I don't think I can get away with it any more, but while you can, enjoy it!
