    Grapes and banana

Berries are best - raspberries and strawberries. They used to be marked as speed as well as super free. nanny Doreen - yes they are part of the free section of the plate where I usually put meat, eggs, rice, potatoes or pasta. Not sure grapes would be quite the same! Maybe as part of a fruit...

    Grapes and banana

I eat about a third of a banana on toast and am not tempted to have more but demolish a bunch of grapes in no time so don't buy them. I suspect that two or three bananas a day would be too many. Neither are filling enough on their own for me to use them as part of my 2/3 free food on a regular...

A reasonable EE day ( maybe a few too many crackers - perhaps a ban on those for tomorrow is in order) Came across this blog on here this evening http://www.aworkoutroutine.com/blog/ Interesting and funny - worth a bit if a surf. Did that instead of my exercise today.... Red day tomorrow :-)

Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

Thanks Cat. I think it helps to have some sort of plan for holidays rather than nothing. That way I would be less likely to just randomly add in a chocolate bar or have extra helpings - all the old bad habits that would creep back if I told myself it was a 'week off'. An exercise in damage...

1/2 a pound down - amazing what can be done in two days! Now I have one more week left for this spell between Christmas and Easter. 9.5 lb lost so far in 10 weeks, would be good to get down another 1.5lb next week to make a 1 lb per week average. I am not going to make my original target of...

No idea where to post this for help... Work lunches!!!!!!

Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

Hmmm - last night supper was a small macaroni cheese (not much but not on plan) Today was going beautifully till I got home and found unexpected cake. Haven't had that much of it and have now stopped. Steak and sw chips tonight I think with French beans. Red day tomorrow. Hoping for some...

    Ready meals!

Salmon pasta - and we have a winner! The fish stock in this one made it tasty without being spicy. I don't think it was 1/3 speed food - wish they put mushrooms or carrots or something in instead of the peas. Also it was a huge plate of pasta. Best for sharing maybe with some extra veg and...

Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

Yesterday nearly went to plan but not quite, especially when it came to supper. 500 cal pizza, salad, a few chips and a crust of another pizza plus tea. 2 cola bottles in ghe afternoon then for supper: an Indian takeaway consisting of plain rice (free) chicken shaslick (hopefully not too bad)...

  85. N

Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

The good news is that we didn't have a takeaway despite discussing if in detail. Also sw chips, chicken and Brussels sprouts were consumed. Not do good is the wine both in a glass and in the chicken stew. Don't know how many syns for that. Guessing 12 + 8 earlier = 20 or so. Not bad. :-)
  86. N

Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

They had a taster session at group today - probably ate a bit much for a mid morning snack but I avoided the sugar (of which there was a shocking amount for a slimming group!) and probably had around 5 syns. It was good for some ideas. Yummy chilli and stir fry syn free lunch.
  87. N

Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

    Weight Gain In First week!!

Grapes, blueberries, banana, peas and sweet corn are free but not speed. I agree - more speed food needed to truly be on plan. However I wouldn't expect a 6lb gain from that diary unless it was totm and/or you have just come off a very restrictive diet. Good luck for next week xxx

Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

A free supper with 100g sw chips for 1/2 a HexB. Back on track....

    Ready meals!

Chicken in tomato sauce: cooked this one in the oven and shared with dh with the addition of chips, broccoli and some more chicken! Quite good, maybe too strongly flavoured. Sauce not watery this time. Probably 1/3 speed with the sauce so could do this work with a small jacket potato.
  95. N

Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

    changes to plans

I think you are right Jaylou - if you are doing SP properly then the low syn yogurt has some free food in so you shouldn't have it at all. But a mini mars bar would be fine if you counted it. This is why they are saying you can have the odd bit of other free here and there but how much is too...

"other free foods" are left in limbo land really aren't they? in some ways it would be simpler if we could syn them on an SP day and they you would know where you were.

Extra Easy Last bit to go and finding it so hard x

It is so much harder to lose the last bit and to maintain. The answer is to go back to group and hold your head high. At image therapy they always mention your total loss if you need the justification but really come up with an honest answer to enquiries. We have a lot of inspiring target...

Back to group and I will be lighter by Christmas

Monday morning - have been up in the night with sick children and feeling tired. Back to work and school on Wed so I need to get organised over today and tomorrow. Also need to do my two SP days and see if I can burn off the 4 lb I seem to have put back on. Back to circuits this evening so...

Back to group and I will be lighter by Christmas

No - the rest if January should be ok now I think. DH has two days off mid month but we don't have any specific plans. Nice lunch out today and don't really need supper so putting Christmas behind me now. I need to lose nearly another stone to be healthy. Then I want to keep going with my sw...

Back to group and I will be lighter by Christmas

Thanks guys - it is brilliant but I still do have a long way to go. Feeling a bit fed up as I am in-between two big meals - we had people round last night and we are off for another Christmas dinner today. Kind of want to crack on and lose some more weight and get a bit closer to being healthy...

New and confused....please help (ee sp)

They answer this on the website. Basically having said 50:50 they then say use common sense for things like beans on toast and maybe snack on some fruit later. I have seen elsewhere that if you are using a Hex (the toast) then that takes care of the portion control so the proportions are not...
  211. N

    changes to plans

Yes - my ideas about fruit are defiantly in conflict with Slimming World. My point being that I don't have to eat loads of it as we have choices and I choose to have more vegetables for my speed foods. I agree it is healthy to have some but I think I slowed down my losses in 2012 when I used to...

    Sushi

It is listed in the new book at 2 syns per 100g for fish sushi and 1.5 for vegetable sushi :-)
  213. N

    changes to plans

If you are a vegetarian then the green plan is just like EE except you get an extra HExA and B and the B list includes cheeses. If the cheese fills you up more so you eat less free food then it might help with weight loss compared to Ee but it is essentially more calories each day than on Ee...

Back to group and I will be lighter by Christmas

I have finished my first SP day and it has gone ok. Curry and broccoli for supper with synned mini naan. Brazil nuts for my other HexB. Feeling a bit hungry but that could be sugar withdrawal. (Or lack of carbs). Missing the potato as a HexB from Red days. As I have tried to embrace the...

Extra Easy SP Extra Easy SP Plan

Tried the chicken curry with spicy broccoli, it was tasty. Had a mini naan for 6.5 syns with it. Still feeling like I could eat some more though. I suppose I still have my other HexB to have. Might be the sugar withdrawal talking (whole separate issue.....)

Extra Easy SP Extra Easy SP Plan

Update - no hungrier than usual on EE - I am thinking about supper but then I usually do at this time when I am on plan. Had a Heb of toast with some syned cheese at 4pm. Think I might try the curry from the book for supper.
  217. N

    changes to plans

Fat free yogurt is not an s or a p nor does it have a syn value so you can have it on SP but as an additional free food and not as part of the SP plan. Also if you do SP for a whole week or longer then after the first week you can add a tub of yogurt or an extra HexA each day (according to the...

It was a supermarket stir fry mix and I think it came with chilli, ginger and Thai basil. I also added salt, pepper, cumin seeds and lemon juice at the last minute.

Back to group and I will be lighter by Christmas

Working on my first SP day today. I had left over bolognaise for breakfast which was a bit daft and unnecessary but it needed eating and I was short of fresh speed food. For lunch I have had prawn and borlotti beans with a supermarket stir fry mix plus some courgette and spinach and cumin...

Extra Easy SP Extra Easy SP Plan

The S and SS fruit and veg from the old plan do not correlate completely with S in the new plan - mostly they do but you need the new books to do SP precisely. I am sure it would do as an approximation for this week though :-)

Extra Easy SP Extra Easy SP Plan

There is a comment on the website that no branded food has a P symbol as they can't be sure of the protein content. No Linda McCarney Red Onion and Rosemary sausages either I think. Free on EE but not part of EE SP.

Hi everyone, just subscribing to this thread for ideas as I am going to try some SP days this week. First one tomorrow. I think I personally prefer red days but also think that SP will be better for weight loss - will have to wait for the results before making any judgements!

The books don't mention the extra HexA after a week.... Wonder if they added that at the last minute?
  232. N

    changes to plans

Ooooo oyster sauce - thanks for pointing that out :-). I see it specifically says plain light soft cheese for the HexA - that's a bit disappointing for my flavoured Philadelphia lights. They have a syn value for the leggera pizzas in pizza express but not the lower cal ones in Pizza Hut...

Good luck for weigh in. Another 2 days to get anything you did gain off again. I had a good Ee day today as planned :-). Weigh in tomorrow - will see if I can fit in the morning or evening around work. Might aim for my traditional red day Tuesday tomorrow especially as I am then going off...

    changes to plans

Oh and another one on the re worded EE I think it looks interesting and will defiantly try some SP days - although maybe not a whole week at a time. It does say do red and green if you want to (but only if you are losing at least 2lb a week !!!!!)- not sure how much help there will be though?
  237. N

how different is the new ee?

Just discovered - no yogurt on ee sp
  238. N

    changes to plans

There are two articles on the website now - one on the basics and one by a vegetarian consultant who has tried eesp. The surprises for me - yogurt is not an s or p food - you can have an extra hexa or yogurt after a week on sp - half and half s and p foods on the plate
  239. N

Back to group and I will be lighter by Christmas

I used half a HexB for the olive oil and 1.5 syns for the flour. All in a good red day with around 11 syns. Think I will aim for a good EE day tomorrow before weigh in on Tuesday which should also be on some sort of plan. Going to have another two days off over new year. I think though...

  241. N

On Ee but not ee sp as I understand it.
  242. N

how different is the new ee?

Sounds to me as though EE won't be changing much - so if Green does go then you will lose your extra HexB. EE SP will limit the carbs - it will be a bit like red - you will be able to do it as a vegetarian, just as you can currently do red. your "P" foods will be limited though to pulses...
  243. N

Back to group and I will be lighter by Christmas

Hope you are not snowed in I am having a red day today, so far so good. dh is cooking supper but insisting on oil and flour in the stew - will need to save some syns for it.......
