Food is looking fab CB.
In terms of weights/strength they can actually really help you lose weight, as using heavy weights actually burns a lot of calories even after a workout, it might be worth seeing if you can get a bit of a plan together for a strength workout- things like kettlebells are...
Fab news about the s14 bikini pants :)
Bless Mick and his ketchup! I have to say I am
The more trampy one in our house and he is always moaning about it, I'm also likely to wander around in a onesie and my hair all scraggy, I figure it's a trade off for never getting spoiled anymore, lol
Food looks yummy :)
I really miss the cinema, we used to go most weeks pre kids, now we only ever go to see kids films :( OH sometimes goes to see a film he really wants to on his own but I never fancy it, it's not the same without anyone to chat to about the film afterwards
Bbrrr how you doing? I'm cold too, thinking when I do break my fast I might go for a big bowl of veg soup to warm me up and then a mushroom omelette, nom
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Wow great loss, well done. Weekend sounds lovely, manicure at Harrods - very posh :) I do like London zoo too, keep meaning to take the kids down
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Not most of the time, only if I get out if the habit really, it means I can feel more indulgent the other 5 days and there's no points/syns etc
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Yum food looks good, I'm ok, doing 5:2 now rather than SW, still plodding alone losing slowly but am 3.5st down now xx

Ooh I need one, my courgette plants have gone crazy and I'm thinking these are a good way to use them up, I've seen a paleo recipe for them in avocado sauce

Sorry I have no idea why I thought you were doing slim fast! Just browsing different diaries and must have mixed myself up!
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Hi, hope you don't mind me gate crashing but was just browsing current threads and came across this.
Saw your post about the gym and just wanted to say well done and stick at it, I was 16st 5lb when I joined the gym and could barely run for 30 seconds, like you I had a personal training...
I'm off work today so umming and ahhing about fasting as don't usually fast when I'm with my kids.
However am thinking I may split my cals for a 200 cal lunch and 200 cal dinner as did Body Blitz this morning and am doing Pilates tonight so it'll give me some fuel and let me eat with the kids...
That's what I tend to do now, so if it's 20 snatches with each hand I have an 8kg in both hands and attempt 40 snatches with both hands at once, as I found parts were too easy after a while x but some stuff like shoulder presses I still use just one at a time for
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Just catching up,52lb is incredible in a year I think. Your picture is fab, you look so much slimmer in the face and younger too, you should update your avatar xx
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I have definitely been to groups where they have talked about scan bran cake as free as part of your HEA. That said I've seen posts on here talking about it not being allowed as it's changing the use from a main meal to a snack... Personally, given where you are, I would use it and count it as a...
Hiya, there's no hard and fast rules with 5:2, I do two set days fasting a week, where I don't eat for 24 hrs (say 7pm night before until 7pm fast day) but I do use some of my cals for milk in coffee, then allow 400 for food.
I do track my up days, I don't "need" to but I prefer it, I use MFP...
Yeah will be fine, mine had stuff with nuts in from teeny, as long as you don't have a family history of nut allergies it's good for them x
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I do 2 Kettlebell classes a week and have done for 5 months, I am losing slowly but KB has definitely improved my shape a lot, and I'm much stronger for it.
I also have the Kettlercise for women DVD to do at home which is great

Water weighs a lot, but the more you drink the less you retain as your body knows it doesn't need to hang onto if IYSWIM?
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
My littlest has just been up!
Sorry you've had a bad few days, but you're tackling it, you've fessed up and planned tomorrow, a few 100% days will minimise the damage, we all self sabotage now and again, just remember that you are in control and have the strength to make a choice, and remember...
Haha my daughter is def calmer than my son and better at sitting/playing etc but she's got a right temper on her and has a full on pout/sulk when not getting her own way, but it's still easier to manage as she just stomps off slamming doors and glowering at me, 5 going on 15! My son is...
This just caught my eye...
That's brilliant, my BF was about 36% at my last assessment and feel like I'm smaller than then but have only lost about 3lbs so am curious about my BF now! 27% is really good.
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I'm convinced it's just boys! Mine is 3.5 and such a handful, my daughter is 5 and had her moments but was never frustrating like he is!

Dinner sounds lovely, and what a boost the othe couples commenting :)
Hope the cyst isn't as bad today and you cAn avoid more antibiotics x
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I have to say I have no idea what Austrian cuisine is, Swiss I think of cheese and chocolate, Belgium I think of beer and chocolate, there is a theme here...
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Oh no Wii, what crappy news about the cyst.. Really hope you can catch it in time and avoid it getting so bad this time.
You're doing really well with the exercise etc, so reckon you could have a really good week.
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
My weight loss slows the more I exercise sometimes, but I'm getting smaller and more muscular so I'm def losing fat - it's all good for you anyway
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Totally agree.. There's bound to be a difference. Well done on all the exercise, I think the annoying thing with that can be that the scales don't always seem to play ball straight away, presumably due to water etc, I often seem to sts or gain after upping my workouts ( like last week) but it...
Oh no, how are you feeling now? You've had a run of bad luck health wise haven't you? I thought healthy food and exercise were supposed to keep you well but I've had 3 colds since Xmas!
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Variation on above, slim pasta, frozen chopped spinach, quorn bacon, mushrooms and low low cheese with black pepper spread. It was sooooo good
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
It was just quorn pieces and onions etc in mayflower curry sauce, with cauliflower "rice", so whizz up cauli in food processor, add fry light, onion and garlic to pan and kind of stirfry the "rice", I do a whole cauliflower then split into 4 and freeze ready for fast days..
Sent from my iPhone...
I log my cals everyday, I started off doing SW on up days but prefer MFP now.
So my cals might be 1800 or 500 but average over the week at around 1200 per day
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Oh no Wii, that's how I was the other week, just couldn't shake it and felt so rough :( enjoy the Wii mini, I've no idea what it is though, am guessing it's a more basic Wii?
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Oh no Wii, what a nightmare, at least you can maybe get some rest today-my cat has just woken me up trying to maul me, grrr
Did you resist?
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Wow 5lb in 2 weeks is great, go you. Sad news about the Wii though.
What age do you teach? How annoying that the school was shut though
Hope you start to feel a but better soon x
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
See I was thinking mine looked really grey from the portabello mushrooms and how much nicer yours looked, grass is always greener, lol
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Ah yeah, I know someone I worked with did lighter life a few years ago and lost about 4 stone and blamed hers on doing that, but she got them about a year or so afterwards, but what they said is that her body from couldn't cope with returning to all the fat afterwards, she was in so much pain...
Ahh that's a shame, I know a few people who've had gallstones, how long have you been fasting then as don't they take ages to form?
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Egg whites are a firm fave for me, I buy cartons from
Sainsbury's or Waitrose and have omelettes with mushrooms etc, Quorn stir fries with loads of veg, garlic, chilli etc, slim pasta on occasion, taco trays filled with quorn chilli, quorn flavoured fillets with veg etc
Sent from my iPhone...
I was just thinking the same!
Hope everyone is doing ok, I've just completed 7 weeks doing 5:2 and have lost 10lbs on it so far, and have found it easy and enjoyable, so am definitely continuing doing the plan for the foreseeable future. I aim to lose 1-2 lbs per week anyway as don't want to...
That's interesting debridger, I tend do do a 24 he fast then only eat at night and often only have say 300 cals and have debated dropping it altogether, only thing I worry about is exercising and losing muscle rather than fat on those days but I keep finding conflicting info searching about...
Good, I eat a lot of stir fry but will post a few more pics when I get chance. I've done 7 weeks now and really enjoy it :)
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Hope you're all doing ok, lots of us fasting today.. I've started a thread with some photos of fasting meals on I thought people could use like the SW ones
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
One from last week, slim pasta, mushrooms and laughing cow blue ( looks a bit grey from the mushrooms but tasted good!)
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I prefer the noodles and fettucini to the rice, it's about £2.50 a pack, it doesn't taste of much, just bulks food out
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I'm usually up 2-3 days after my feast days, oddly this week I've weighed the same everyday but normally I fluctuate a lot.
Week 7 or 8 for me now, have lost count, fast day today so fasted from 6pm last night and will go through to about 6.30pm tonight
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Week 7 complete... Fast day tomorrow, planning to go straight through until tomorrow night now then have dinner. I've got some left over quorn chilli for team that I'll do some veg with

I track my cals but just watch them over the week, so some days 2000, others 1300, but keep an eye on the weekly average
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
What do you do at the gym? For a long time I went and ran/rowed/biked etc and didn't make much difference. Then I had a personal training session which showed me how to really utilise weights etc, I now do more strength stuff and do kettlebells classes twice a week and that's made a big...
Could it be you were eating too little and therefore like when people come off a VLCD their body takes time to adjust? I eat on average about 1200- 1300 per day, but will have some days at 1800 or so and others lower...

Oh and for dinners- quorn, prawns, stir fries, veg curries, slim rice/pasta etc, this was less than 100 cals on thurs, slim pasta, 100g mushrooms, fry light, laughing cow light blue, it was yum

I usually don't bother with lunch, but when I have I've had...
Gloriously skinny BNS soup (1/2 tub is just over 100 cals)
Egg white omelettes (less than 100 cals)
Half tin of mixed bean chilli (190 cals)
Slim noodles/pasta with veg etc
2 ryvita with laughing cow or similar (100 cals ish)

Hi can I subscribe? I was on SW but switched at beginning feb to 5:2, I still eat a fair bit of SW friendly food though

Hello, just catching up, totally agree it's so hard with work and little ones xx
Hope you've had a lovely Mother's Day x
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Lots of people do 4:3 I think, I often do a sort of intermediate third day where I have 800-1000 cals, I did one yesterday where I fasted for the morning then aimed for 800 in the afternoon
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Yeah it is pricey for what it is, however only the price of getting a shapers sandwich from Boots or something, and I don't eat breakfast or lunch on a fast day so tend to think I prob would have spent that on food anyway. I've seen them in bulk on Groupon before.
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I found the first couple of weeks I wanted to eat loads of naughty foods like bread etc, but now I stick to mainly healthy foods ( ignoring the fact I'm now munching choc covered coffee beans before 7am)
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Yes they're a lot like normal rice noodles aren't they? Am looking forward to having the fettuccine this week, think I'll do it with some mushrooms and laughing cow light blue mixed through.

I've lost;
2lb
2lb
1lb
0.5lb
0.5lb
So hoping the pattern doesn't follow and STS next week! I eat about 1200-1300 average over the week

Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Aww bless her, hope all goes well today.

I only lost 0.5lb this week but have lost 6 in 5 weeks

They're buy one get one half price on the Holland and Barrett site, £20 for free delivery, I have 20 packs of noodles and 4 fettucini. I wasn't overly keen on the rice as thought it tasted like chopped up noodles, whereas the noodles I think are quite close to rice noodles
Sent from my iPhone...
Haha yes, small virtual world ;) how you finding the 5:2 anyway? Hope A and D are doing well- where did 5 years go? X
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
You should aim for low GI foods really as they'll regulate your sugar and keep you fuller, I usually have stir fries, egg whites and mushrooms etc.
Btw don't suppose you're an ex handbagger?
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Well done everyone and especially to those going down a group.
I'm 14st 5lbs so thinking it'll be a few more weeks before I can move...
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I normally don't eat until about 8-9pm on a fast day, so around 24 hours as this tends to suit me best, however I do have about 150 ml of skimmed milk in coffee through the day.
Today however I'm full of cold so ate at 12pm and 6pm
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Sorry sent too soon... I switched as I was feeling bored with SW and not being able to enjoy some healthy foods etc without synning them. I'm really enjoying it so far and eat fairly healthily on most days, averaging about 1300 cals average over the week
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Good luck tonight, really hope you get a loss. My 30DS is gathering dust at the min, I've been sticking to kettlebells but I keep meaning to do it
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Ahh but... You then have to lose loads for anyone to notice or go down a clothes size... Plus when you gain it takes ages to realise how much as it's spread out, I was wearing size 16's from about 13st to nearly 15st before I realised I was actually an 18, lol
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
I've only been doing it for 5 weeks, but the only thing I did notice was that my menstrual cycle went crazy last month and I was on about 3/4 weeks... That said I have PCOS so it might just be that, but it's the first time I've been on so much and so heavy in a short space of time.
The other...
I'm a pear too, 5'7" and 14st 6lbs and a 16 on the bottom and dresses, more of a 14 on top, 36 B/C bra. From memory I think around 13st will see me comfy in 14 bottoms, and about 11st 5lb in 12's.

0.5lb off for me this week, 6.5lb total... Slow going so can't see me losing 21lbs in the next month!! Any chance you could revise me down to 15lbs total which should be more achievable?

I have PCOS as well as only half a thyroid and do sympathise... However the only thing I can say is if will take time and you just need to stick with it, it's taken me 7 months to lose 27 lbs with SW and more recently the 5:2 diet, but before I had kids I ate a low GI diet which was also calorie...

I lost 1lb too but am happy, they all add up :)
Can you use your weeklies for the nights out?
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
They were 3 for £5 in Asda this week too, plus the fresh quorn stuff was 3 for £5 in Tesco, I'm well stocked now with fridge and freezer full :)
I like all of the above, the only thing I really dislike are the hot dogs
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Ooh that sounds nice.
I often save my cals for dinner and have a big meal, but low cal faves are quorn and veg stir fry, egg white and veg omelettes, the quorn lime and

That said...
I agree sorry, mine are 3 and 5 and I work 40-50 hours or so a week, but I make sure I take at least 10 -15mins at 6.30am each morning to eat with them before nursery/school, and again in the evenings, whenever possible I sit at the table with them while they eat, even if I just have a snack and...

Big hugs Missy, although I do think in terms of your mental well being etc a few months of not thinking about things too much and focusing on enjoying life and getting healthy is positive, especially as I know IVF etc are a bit of a roller coaster
I really do believe that one way or another...
Totally agree, sometimes when you're tired/busy etc it's good to have stuff in that will keep hunger at bay within plan. Other things I've bought are the "simply bake" type frozen fish meals, some of those are free and just go straight in the oven.
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
Haha I know that feeling :)
Is it worth getting a few quick frozen bits in for easy meals? Mine are the frozen jacket potatoes and frozen omelettes, just means on the days I'm too frazzled to think I can nuke one with some beans or something.
But I get the same with planning etc which is why...

I don't eat meat, so eat lots of quorn and veg based meals, I think this makes a difference budget wise as when I've bought meat for others I'm always shocked at the price.

Hi ladies, I still lurk on here but post must on diaries etc, you're both doing great, I'm plodding slowly, lol.
