    personal goals?

I set myself a monthly target of 5 pounds. This was the minimum target that used to be set at Slimming Club, many years ago and it seems to work. So far, I have only had one month where I have only lost 5 pounds, most months I have lost at least 6 pounds. It usually means I feel really good...

    Making Whoopee!!

Once we got started it was great to do it together, as we support each other. He has a lot less to lose than me but it doesn't seem to matter. Good luck to you both, just remember, to get to the end, you have to get through the beginning. That was the only thing that kept me going at first.

Only just noticed this post but had to let you know, I have been to Italy with Keycamp, to Lake Garda. The caravans were very clean and all the Keycamp tents/caravans were all together so we were with other English speaking people, (had some good evenings sat outside with a glass of wine!) You...

I didn't know there was a patch! But I agree, the minimims patch is the best, it really helps me. I have just returned from holiday, having lost one pound!!!!!! and we went out for meals five times in the week. I don't quite know what is different this time for me, but long may it continue...

    A dieting patch

When I started to lose weight this time, I was full of optimism and determined that this was going to be the last time, definitely the last time, I had to lose this amount of weight. Then life took over! Stupid things like weddings, holidays, guiding camps (I am a brownie leader), celebratory...

    Holiday? Love'em and Hate'em

We are packing the car tonight to go on holiday, we are staying in a cottage in Cornwall, and I can't wait. The first thing to go into the car?.....The weighing scales!!! Do you think this in unhealthy? I find that I can't face a week just guessing if I am doing OK. I am losing about one...

    Is it just me?

Or does anyone else experience sticking points around stone marks? As soon as I get within a pound or two of the stone mark everything seems to slow down and it takes ages to get below the stone and then carry on.:sigh:

    Scales

I got my scales from Tesco for £30, they are Weight watchers and are brilliant. If you can afford them, I would definitely recommend them.

    I Need Help.

Hey, Charisma. Don't get down hearted, just take each day one at a time, it will happen, you look to be doing all the right things. A tip I learned years ago was to measure yourself, waist, hips, thighs, arms with string, some weeks even if you haven't lost weight you might have lost inches...

How long did it take you to notice a difference?

I have now lost a stone, I have one pair of trousers that I bought, but have never worn and I try them on religiously every week, at first I couldn't even get them on, now I can very nearly fasten them. Apart from that, no one has noticed, or maybe they are just not saying anything to be polite!

    The diet plate

I was a bit of a crisp junkie so I went cold turkey and cut them out completely, the same with chocolate. The first thing I had to do was get my head in the right place, but I still go out twice a week and drink lager, and I still drink the odd glass of wine at home, I suppose when I lose more...

    The diet plate

When I'm at work I have a slice of toast and marmite for breakfast, for lunch I either have a sandwich or what's left from tea the night before. I always have fruit with me for when I get peckish and I set no limit on that. For cereal they say just weigh out the equivalent of 100 calories and...

    One day at a time!!

Thanks for the welcome, the plan basically says try not to each more than 2 slices of bread a day have 3-400 calories at lunch and then use the plate for dinner. You 'measure' your carbs and protein onto the plate and then fill it up with veg/salad. I have cut out biscuits and chocolate and...
