Anyone in the 11 stone bracket want support to get down to the 10s?

Hi all, how is everyone doing? I got to Target today (half a pound under at 10stone 13.5lb) after four long years of weight loss. I suspect Christmas will bring me back into the 11s so would you mind if I stuck with you all for now? Hope you're all doing well too. Have a fab Christmas...

8.5 stone gone, almost at target!

And finally, just to compare, this is me 8 years apart at the same Christmas ball. I was nowhere near my biggest at the first but I think the difference is still quite obvious!!! And this is my face to face, 2012 to 2016

8.5 stone gone, almost at target!

Thought I'd share my journey, partly to show that it is possible and partly to keep me going for the last couple of pounds. It's been 4 years since I started (but I had my second child in that time and gained a bit when I was pregnant). I hardly recognise myself in older pictures. So here goes....

Well I gained 3.5lb after the long awaited ball. I'm not upset because I totally deserved a gain, but as a NSV; I've compared the photo of me from 8 years ago when we went to the same ball (where my husband proposed to me). Totally - it's hard to imagine being 8.5 stone heavier than I am now. Anyone in the 11 stone bracket want support to get down to the 10s?

Ah brill, I'll have a look. I think it's going to have to be a bit of trial and error. When my husband was losing weight he kept going until we all had to tell him to stop because everyone thought he was ill!! I don't really want to go that far!

Anyone in the 11 stone bracket want support to get down to the 10s?

It's so difficult isn't it?! I never dreamed I'd get to this point and thought that if I did I'd be much happier about my size. But I still feel uncomfortably large in lots of clothes. Plus lots of people seem to start SW at my goal weight so I'm probably not aiming at the right numbers!!!!

Anyone 12 stones to 11 stones

1.5 off for me this week to bring me to 12st 6.5. Got a very challenging week ahead with my brother in law's wedding and lots of catered, set menu food which is definitely not on plan. So I'm being mega good on the other days, and on SP, so fingers crossed it'll level out a little :/

    Favourite curry

I made one up today to use up what we had in the fridge and is was totally amazing - didn't taste at all like diet food and a nice change from the usual chunks of meat in a sauce which can get a little same-y. Made enough to easily serve 4, probably more but we were hungry! 2 aubergines, cut...

    Puddings Yum

I'd definitely say quark mixed with white chocolate options (synned) and vanilla extract, then sweetener to taste. Feels really naughty and very low syn! I have mine with strawberries or raspberries. Total 0% yogurt is also amazing - really thick and creamy. I like it thrown in the ice cream...

But I also use it a lot for savoury dishes, as people have already said. Very versatile!
  42. lizs84

    Quark!

My favourite thing to do with it is to add a tbsp of white chocolate options (2 syns per tbsp), sweetener to taste and a few drops of vanilla extract. It tastes like a white chocolate creamy dessert and is great with raspberries or strawberries.

    Rewards? When, what and why?

I set my mini goals regularly. I set a weight loss/number to get to, put a reason why, and give a timescale - so for example, at the end of May I have a family wedding. so my goal looks like this: Time: By 21st May Goal: To lose 7lb Reason: To have a nice family photo at the wedding. Reward...

    Can't live without....

I'm feeling hungry reading all of these! I do my poached eggs the Tom Kerridge way... Put a tiny splash of white wine vinegar in the bottom of an espresso cup (or something similar) and crack the egg into it - apparently this starts to cure the egg so that it stays together better. Get a...

1lb off for me last night which I'm happy with as it is star week and the last two weeks I've had to weigh in at the morning session (I normal don't weigh until 7.30pm) and I know I'm always a bit lighter in the morning!

    Running 5k in 30 min

Have you tried using the NHS couch to 5k programme? I downloaded the podcasts and that's how I started running in the first place. It was perfect for me as it started slowly and built up, as well as being free! Looking back I can't believe how unfit I was at the beginning - I used to wheeze...

    Does running help?

I started slimming world a while before starting running. I now run 5k or further every day. If I don't stick to plan but still run then I often maintain or gain but as long as I'm on plan then I lose. So I'm not convinced that the running helps the weight loss exactly, but I definitely stick...

    Pete's Recipe Book

Pete I have just made your peanut curry for dinner and it was absolutely divine!!! I honestly could have poured it out of a foil tub and had my husband believing it was a takeaway. Thank you! You have changed my opinion of homemade curries. Yum! Liz X

    "Cloud bread"???

They cooled down properly so we tested by making a sandwich with one, toasting another two and having savoury and sweet toppings and having one as it is. They do taste quite eggy and are dry on their own but they're not offensive! I'd advise having something on them to flavour them. I think...

    "Cloud bread"???

Okay. I've got to be honest...it's a bit like an incredibly dry, soft, savoury meringue. I don't think I'll be doing these again. I'll let them properly cool and see if they improve. Liz X

    "Cloud bread"???

It's in the oven at the moment. Not holding out a huge amount of hope to be honest - it looks like meringue. I'll let you know.... Liz X

    Pre pregnancy on slimming world

Hi all, I am looking for a little guidance if possible. My husband and I have decided to start trying for our second and I have had my implant removed (ouch!!). My questions are: 1. How does slimming world change when you're pregnant? Do you have the same number of syns and healthy extras...

    "Cloud bread"???

Well I've had a google and these look interesting. I can't work out if it'll taste cheesy or sweet or eggy though! I'm thinking I'd use quark instead of cream cheese and cream of tartar is 1/2 syn per tsp although in meringues you can use lemon juice or vinegar instead. Any thoughts? Liz X

    "Cloud bread"???

This sounds very interesting. What are the syns? And what does it taste like?
  217. lizs84

This may have been done before but ..NO SYN STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE!!! EPIC

This is where slimming world gets a bit ropey for me. Technically, tinned, cooked or puréed fruit needs to be synned. I get that you might eat more of it as it reduces in volume and the texture is less filling. However, if you use the same amount as you would if you ate it whole then I struggle...

How to be well prepared? Ready meals?

Well this one doesn't turn out bland to my taste but my advice would be taste it and just keep adding spices!! Careful on the cayenne though - it's stronger than you'd think!!
