Unable to get on here until now but I'm pleased to report... 3lbs OFF for me this week yay :D

Until babies are 1 year old, milk is the most important source of nutrition, food is just for fun, getting them used to different tastes and textures. Maybe your HV meant that once Mia is on 3 meals a day (they say to aim for 7 months), to give her food before her milk.

I still give Oliver milk before solids, he loves his milk just as much as his food :) Once he's 12 months old I'll be weaning him into cows milk too. I'm guessing I'll have a baby who'll always want a bottle of milk :)

Regarding meat, I've given him pork, mince, sausages, ham and chicken but have blended it up... The pork was slow cooked so it was in that fallen apart state anyway, the sausages I take the skin off and mash it, usually with mashed potato and peas! Ham- he's had as it is, loved playing with it...

Should also add he has no teeth yet, but he's teething badly and he uses his gums to bite things. Breadsticks are a popular choice and so are apple biscuits (he's a bit obsessed with apples!) x

I gave Oliver pretty much anything from 26 weeks, he's now 29 weeks and he has toast most days- I cut into fingers and he feeds himself, it goes soggy cos he's gumming it, and he likes off the topping (peanut butter is his fave!). He's having pizza and wedges tonight :-) x

Ranitidine worked very well for me, you can buy it over the counter... All I got told by the pharmacist in Tesco was to nit take it as often as the packet states, just in case. Gaviscon, Rennie's etc didn't work for me but everyone is different and it prob depends on how bad it is- I suffered...

I've got E45 cream as I use it for my dry skin, can I use that on Oliver? There is a history of psoriasis in the family so thought it may be something related to that?? X

I give milk first at 8am, food at 9:30-10. I figured my boy wouldn't be so receptive to food too soon after his milk and 2 ish hours works well for him. Every baby is different, do what you think best- the main thing is she's still drinking her milk, that's important x

I started at 14 weeks on HV advice due to Oliver taking excessive amounts of formula and I would say it took a few weeks before he 'got' it. He hated baby rice, he really loves porridge with fruit! He's now 23 weeks and has porridge with fruit purée for breakfast (after his milk) and veg purée...

So my scales are showing 1lb on this morning... Not surprised as I've had a few tough emotional days and wine has been my best friend lol!! Decided today is a fast day and most likely tomorrow too... Going to pop to Tesco soon (once the rain clears!) and see what ready meals they've got...
