  101. Daisyboo

    what have you resisted today

I had a skinny cap in Costa instead of a full fat one and resisted one of their gorgeous cupcakes which are a whopping 20+ syns each!!
  102. Daisyboo

    Another happy target bod!

Congratulations!! You must feel so proud :)
  103. Daisyboo

    ARRGGGHHH

Just tiny word of warning - make sure your slice is teeny tiny if your only counting 8.5 syns. Only because I know that a slice of the lemon drizzle cake is costas is a whopping 28 syns!! I know it is a decent wedge, but maybe a good guideline?
  104. Daisyboo

    Slimming World Food Range!

Dont know if this is old news or not, but I was talking to my consultant last night about my M&S Fuller Longer fiasco and she mentioned that apparently there is a SW food range in the process of being developed and should be out this year at some point! There was a range developed a while...
  105. Daisyboo

    Lesson learned - never assume!

Tell me about it - its more than 2 decent glasses of vino!! Going to try and make my own thai soup though, it was really yummy
  106. Daisyboo

    Lesson learned - never assume!

I picked up the M&S Simply Fuller for Longer Chicken Noodle Meal Soup for lunch today - assumed (magic word - assumed! HA!!) that it wouldn't be too high in syns as it is mostly noodles and chicken and was only 270ish calories. It was gorgeous - v yummy and filling and spicy so warmed me up...
  107. Daisyboo

    Ive done it!!!

That was me too - nearly gave up last week but stuck with it and back on track - refuse to leave only to pay to rejoin *again* later!
  108. Daisyboo

Can someone please tell me if this is ok?

Think it might be worth contacting HQ about this trend of Consultants telling people that they HAVE to have 1/3 green, 1/3 red and 1/3 Super Free - it can be very misleading and completely undermines the "easiness" of Extra Easy!! If that was the case then how would a vegetarian manage EE? Or...
  109. Daisyboo

Argh! First day of SW and I'm lost!

What a yummy sounding menu - I've just finished my lunch and I am hungry again after reading that!! ;) Hmm, if it was me I would probably go for the Soupe à l’Oignon Gratinée (guessing this is onion soup?) then 28 Day aged châteaubriand, roast bone marrow, green beans & frites (but ask for...

    Pineapple

I love pineapple but I'm allergic to it :-(
  111. Daisyboo

    Food abuse?

Yes, as it would still be really filling. Do you have a good recipe? Any time Iv tried to make it it's vile!!
  112. Daisyboo

'It will catch up with you'

I think that it's not that it "catches up with you" but that some people think that because they have only been 50% on plan and still lose weight, they can do the same every week and still have the same loses! Therefore - be v good and 100% on plan this week and you shouldn't have any nasty...
  113. Daisyboo

    Food abuse?

To me it is when people use something that is technically free food yet they are using it in a way that it wasn't intended to be used as. This leads people to eat more food than they normally would and can seriously hinder losses even though they think they are eating nothing wrong. Sounds...
  114. Daisyboo

Anyone else use all 3 plans?

I used to always stick to either EE or Green but last week a did two days of Red and feel like it made a big difference (basically because I had a bit of a naff week yet still lost 2lb!!)
  115. Daisyboo

    101 meals with a rottisary chicken!! ;)

Well, after eating most of it over the week in soup, salad and stirfry (and a v naughty weekend) I then lost 2lb tonight so it obviously didn't do that much damage!!
  116. Daisyboo

    Grumble about class

There seems to be a lot of naff consultants about at the moment. Do you need to be at target to become a consultant?
  117. Daisyboo

    Naughty me...

I was weighing myself over the holidays (I was v v ill so more to keep check of how much weight I was losing rather than how much I was putting on!) but now that I have been back to group I have found out my scales are weighing a good 3lb light. Annoyed at myself as thought I would be going...
  118. Daisyboo

    101 meals with a rottisary chicken!! ;)

I though it was a bit of an urban legend that they were injected with fat? Sure there have been lots of posts on here to say that HO have said they are safe to eat so long as you take off the skin and fat?
  119. Daisyboo

    101 meals with a rottisary chicken!! ;)

Bought a rottisary chicken today in Asda, took off all the skin and fat and have made: - Chicken, bacon and mozarella salad for dinner for me & hubby with a portion for lunch tomorrow already in the fridge - Chicken, leek & carrot soup - massive pot so hopefully about 6 bowls worth -...

10 things you need to know about losing weight..

Was that not the reason why the second HExA was brought in a few years ago? And also why it's so important to actually use your HExAs every day!
  121. Daisyboo

    The bundle has arrived!!

Congratulations, you must be a very proud mummy :-)
  122. Daisyboo

Struggling with being snowed in :-(

Thanks for the advice. Not braved the scales yet but had a bowl of healthy porridge this morning, couscous for lunch and a nice big veggie filled spag bol for dinner planned. The thing is that I am feeling rubbish today because of all the rubbish that I have eaten over the last 2 weeks - I...

Struggling with being snowed in :-(

Coming right off a trip down to London we have been snowed in since last Monday. It has been a very welcome week off work but I seem to have embraced my inner Nigella and have been baking cakes and home made bread, tucking into cheese and butter, wine and mince pies... I'm meant to be...

    Extra Easy Pasta 'n' Sauce

Most are but I think the leek one is 1 syn and the macaroni & cheese one is 2 syns? Just use your milk from your HExA or only water - and no butter!! ;-)
  126. Daisyboo

Remember me? (hangs head in shame)

Hi everyone - I've been around for a quite a bit, managed to lose alost a stone for our holiday at the start of the year but since deciding I could go for it alone I have managed to gradually put it all back on again with a couple extra to boot. I joined a class again last night - not had...

    Homemade burger disasters - help!

I noticed a lot of girls saying they are using their HeXB for breadcrumbs - how about using a table spoon or two of couscous (made up with hot water) and use that instead? If you are on EE it will be free but I am sure there aren't many syns in that little amount of couscous if your doing Red...

Updates on frree and HEX from new SW mag!

If you eat them on a green day you will need to syn them - or just have an Extra Easy day and you dont need to!!
  129. Daisyboo

    Risotto Rice is this free?

Yep - risotto rice is free so long as you dont add any oil or butter (obviously!) You can have 28g of parmesan for your HexA
  130. Daisyboo

Do you do this? Hex Vs Syn

Oh good - thats what I have been doing for the last 5 years!! :p
  131. Daisyboo

    Lower calorie alternatives to mugshots?

Not sure what to suggest - but I'm not surprised your losses have slowed down. I usually have a MugShot as a meal on its own, or maybe with a couple of ryvita if I am really hungry. It seems that especially with EE you have to be careful with the processed packets (i.e. Pasta n' sauce...
  132. Daisyboo

Extra Easy Can a bad week catch up with you?

My consultant always said that what you did last week stays in last week, a bad week cannot 'catch up' with you. What does happen is you have a bad week but manage to get away with it by still having a loss or staying the same - so you think you can repeat that bad week and get away with it...

    Wetherspoons sweet chilli chicken

I posted the same question yesterday! Apparently the new menu isn't on the website yet :-( I went for the noodles with veg only (knowing that Wetherspoons has a reputation for 'tampering' with its meat!) and it was yummy - suprisingly filling and only £2.99!!
  134. Daisyboo

Weatherspoons - Sweet Thai Noodles w Chicken

Oh blah! Im just going to have to go for it and count my full allowance towards it just in case. Thanks for looking though - your a star!
  135. Daisyboo

Weatherspoons - Sweet Thai Noodles w Chicken

I know the best thing on Weatherspoons is the 5 bean chilli but I detest beans!! Looking at the nutrition link (scary reading!) I am guessing the Thai Noodles and Chicken isn't too bad at 450 calories and relatively low in fat etc. Could anyone check online for me ASAP? Hubby meeting me...

    SW Consultant Communication?

Thanks everyone. My mum goes to the class too but she is on holiday at the moment. Might wait till she comes back and then see if the consultant says anything to her about it?
  138. Daisyboo

    Using Health Extras?

You can - but ONLY on Green days. Some of the options are a bit different (someone with a book to hand can help with that) but I think you can still have 42g of reduced fat cheddar, 28g of parmesan and there is an option of low fat soft cheese (ie Philli) but dont know the weight
  139. Daisyboo

    pork mince

Mix it with a chopped up peeled apple, thyme, an egg and make yummy apple & pork burgers - I serve mine with sweet potato wedges, caramalised onions (just add cider viniger and sweetner) and salad - GORGEOUS!! Pork is a much forgotten about ingredient imo!
  140. Daisyboo

    Going it alone!

I mashed up 8 scan bran and 2 weetabix, mixed in a grated carrot and a grated courgette, 3 eggs, tablespoon of sweetner and 2 teaspoons of mixed spice. I divided it between 12 muffin cases and cooked for about 30 minutes on gas mark 5 - until firm to touch. I am guessing they are under 1 syn...

    SW Consultant Communication?

I really like my old consultant, she was always really friendly and helpful but I really didn't think her communication outside the group was as fab as it should have been. Just for example I sent her a text on Monday saying "Just to let you know I am going to have to take a break from teh...

    Going it alone!

Thanks girls! Doing ok so far - made a batch of carrot & courgette scan bran muffins yesterday so having those for lunch with a banana seems to be keeping those morning munchies at bay for only 2 syns.
  143. Daisyboo

    Going it alone!

After alot of thinking I have decided that at the moment I really dont have the time or spare money to be going to SW classes. I'm determined not to now go totally off the rails, I really want to stick with this, to prove to myself that I have the will power and determination to stick to a diet...

I'm not surprised you feel let down - like you said you dont expect one-to-one therapy but you do expect to have as much time as everyone else. Went to the class tonight and I MAINTAINED!!! Woohoo!! And I got a massive ego boost when two guys coming out of the pub where the group was said they didn't know why I was going! :-) And when I told some of the girls what happened they said they agreed - I looked great :-) So chuffed -...

    Really really nervous about tonight

I admit it - I have been off the wagon for about 10 days - I did have 3 good days in the middle of it but a mix of pmt, a stinky cold, star week and some family 'stuff' have equalled a very bad (but v v yummy!) mix of pizza, wine, whisky, chocolate, puddings and yet more wine!! Just with...

Chicken risotto with onions, chilli and tomatoes - made a huge pile and filled me riiight up! Time of the month so needed filling up otherwise I knew I would be craving chocolate and bad things all evening. Just polished off a big bowl of strawberries, mango and a WW toffee yogurt :-)
  151. Daisyboo

Terrible news! Asda pitta bread no more!

    What have I unleashed?!

I've been well and truely off plan this weekend too! These bank holidays are dangerous things ;-) Back on plan today - you just have to draw a big fat line under all your badness and start again - no point beating yourself up over things you have already eaten - it wont make the calories...

It is the same sort of idea as a Body Shop party - you go and look at all the products, try them out and then you can order things if you want. Personally I would draw a line under today and start afresh tomorrow. If I try to retrospectively save syns it never works for me, I always end up feeling deprived and going over. OMG i'm so proud of myself

Well done!! Will remember that trick next time I'm having a crazy choc craving
  187. Daisyboo

Why do I want so much chocolate?!

Sometimes it's one of those you want what you think you can't have. You can still have a really decent amount of chocolate each day if you prioritise your synage! Iv been eating twirls - single fingers are only 6 syns and feel really indulgent
  188. Daisyboo

Is it me or does EE just mantain weight?

I still lose just as much on EE as I did when it was plain old green and red. Why do you think 6lb in 3 weeks is a failure?!? Just through eating what I fancy (and what was in the fridge this close to pay day!!) I have had a couple of green days this week - and I'v actually felt guilty for having the extra A and B choices!! Never thought I would be saying that ;-) Extra Easy ROCKS!!

Another maybe silly question re: poo's lol

I think you wee it out - which is why you pee loads when you do SW properly! The extra trips to the loo could be because of the extra fibre?

Extra Easy what to use my a and b choice on

Just check the list in your book as the cheeses on the A list and B list are slightly different

    Gaining a waist!!

Weight loss can be cruel like that some times!! I have the opposite problem - desperate to loose a couple of pounds off of my chest but it's the last place it goes from and then it's just a tiny bit :-(

Extra Easy what to use my a and b choice on

You can have any HexA or B from the green or red lists - if your making cheese sauce remember you can always have the milk from your A and you can have the cheese as your B as it us a B choice on Green!

    fast help needed asap!

I second that - add a wee bit of sweetner if the cocoa doesn't sweeten it enough for you. Wish I had some quark in the fridge - hmmm so yummy!

    Headaches?

Have you cut down the amount of tea/coffee/fizzy juice you are drinking? Cutting down the caffeine your having can cause stinking headaches!

    Wetherspoons.... steak night

Oh crap!! That may go part of the way to explain my pound gain this week!! Oh flip - I knew there would be a couple of syns but thought that by giving up the sausage and the dressing on the salad I could have gotten away with an almost free meal! There is my fail safe weatherspoons meal choice...

    Stallers and crawlers

Eating before or after 7pm doesn't effect your weight loss at all!! It is one of those diet myths like carbs being evil!!
  220. Daisyboo

    Who has done Weight Watchers?

Just on the weigh in point of not being weighed by the consultan at SW can I just add that I went to WW 3 times and at each group it was members who did the weigh in and at the SW group I go to currently it is always the consultant who weighs me.

    healthy extras?

    Enjoy - sounds yummy!
  235. Daisyboo

    healthy extras?

Yep, although it's not a good idea to do this regularly - you get best losses if you mix them up a bit
  236. Daisyboo

    Pasta quiche - yuummm!!

My consultant mentioned it last week as a lunch idea - will ask her again next week!
  237. Daisyboo

    Green Days Hunger busters?

*whispering* a pasta n sauce quiche is great for a really filling meal - make one up and it will do you at least 2 big meals - add a baked potato and salad to really fills you with no HE's or syns

    Wii

Now that's strange because mine weighs me a couple of pounds light! And when my sis in law got hers it weighed her over a stone light!!! It does depend on the floor - we have ours on a normal carpet and she had hers on a really thick pile carpet. As the others said - ignore it and just listen...

    Stupid Question

There are different schools of thought on this one! I pop mine straight into the oven, gas mark 7 for about an hour - just take them out & respray after about half an hour. Yumm - that me decided on dinner for tonight!
  243. Daisyboo

    Pasta quiche - yuummm!!

Think I'll be going with your reasoning ;-) I was actually thinking as I was making it that I could easily eat a pasta n sauce, a tub of cottage cheese, 1/3 pack of ham and a couple of eggs in ONE day but there is no way I would sit down and eat that whole quiche in one day!! I know what...

    Pasta quiche - yuummm!!

I made a pasta n sauce quiche last night for the first time - having a big slice for lunch today and it is gorgeous!! I made it with the cheese & brocoli pasta n sauce, cottage cheese, spring onions, yellow pepper, ham and oregano. Can't believe how cheesy it tastes - and you don't even miss the...

    How's this for SW dedication!?

Non perishable healthy snacks for my son

How about mug shots? You just need a kettle - no microwave or cooker required - and they really fill a hole. I have a couple in my drawer at work all the time for emergency lunches or even just afternoon nibbles. Other than that mini bags of dried apricots?
  247. Daisyboo

    Activia

I can second that!! Just make sure it's the fat free one as the designs for fat free and full fat pots are pretty much identical!

    Stinky cold :-(

I have come down with a horrible stinky icky cold :jelous: desperately trying to get to my mini target of 12 stone by the Xmas hols - but after an awful weekend it's now 4.5lb away. Now my normal illness remedy is hot lemon & honey and lots of whisky toddies but they aren't the most syn...
