    Fibre Intolerance?

I thought Laxido was the same/similar to Movicol.. Is that safe to take long term? The packaging says not to take it for longer than 2 weeks & I've been on it at least 3 months now! Whenever I try to come off it, I get constipated. Ugh. Problem is, I am trying to get pregnant as well so am...

    Fibre Intolerance?

Thank you both! I'be had a look through my old food diaries from SW & it doesn't seem there's one thing that's triggered it. The problem is, it's such a slow reaction that the problem didn't start until a few weeks in, by that point it was too late :( I'm taking laxido atm for it, I'm on 1.5...

    Fibre Intolerance?

While I appreciate the advice the others offered, it wasn't suitable for my particular type of IBS. Even this article states that cutting down on gluten, for example, had a marked improvement for those suffering with IBS-D.. This is not my IBS. xx

Can't afford to eat healthy - what do we all think of this?

I don't think her real issue is the price of healthier foods, she obviously has an unhealthy relationship towards food & I certainly can relate to that. I think perhaps the NHS could help her, but I'm thinking more down the therapy route.. Maybe a bit of CBT to help her to control her urges to...

    Fibre Intolerance?

Hi all! I was hoping someone might be able to offer some help or advice, I can't be the only person who has this issue with SW! I have IBS & for some reason, whenever I try SW, I get awfully constipated. The last time I tried it, around 6 months ago now, I got so bad that I still haven't...

    SW deserter

Welcome! I've recently made the switch from SW to WW.. And I hear you with the constipation! It got so bad for me, after 12 weeks of SW, that I am now reliant upon laxatives :'( It's ridiculous, they don't warn you about that when you start & the consultants have no idea! Just keep telling you...

    First timer! Few questions...

I can only go on what I experienced, I went to my first WW meeting last Sat. It's different to SW, they don't go around and ask everyone how their week was & talk about losses, instead, they talk about a particular topic. I bought my weekly pass online and then just signed up in a group, I think...

    Deflector

I had to have a 3 week gap between SW & WW as SW made me so unwell :( I love F&H, all the free bread products & the oil! I love the oil allowance.. My actifry chips have never been nicer <3 Today I'm pointing. I love the flexibility of WW. First weigh in is on Saturday, I'm so nervous!

    Deflector

Another deflector here! I have my first group tomorrow morning, but have signed up for the monthly pass so have had a go at pointing the last few days :) I'm finding it so much better compared to SW, yes, there is less food, but the choices are so much better! :D

    Fibre, advice please

I've had to stop SW because I can't tolerate all the fibre. If you really want to stick to the plan, then I'd ask your surgeon/nurse or your GP for a referral to a dietician to help with what you can eat on the plan. I've had an awful time on it, 3wks off plan & 3 different laxatives and I'm...

    Doing Weigh Watchers from home?!

I've been thinking about joining WW online, but I'm a bit confused. I've tried it before and got on ok with PP, but did find that I was hungry all of the time! I've recently been following SW, but it's not agreeing with my ibs. I wondered if WW F&H would be the way to go. I'm just a bit confused...

Eating everything in sight! Arrgghh! Stressy rant :(

Thank you Gwella. I'm popping to the Dr this afternoon as half of my face is swollen. I swear, I was healthier when I was bigger & lying around in bed, eating junk food! I will mention seeing a specialist then too. I need to find out what I can & can't eat (or at least eat in moderation)...

Eating everything in sight! Arrgghh! Stressy rant :(

Possibly.. I'm wondering if a strong coffee will help. Starbucks coffees always used to give me an ibs attack, but last time it didn't touch me :( They tend to last all day as well, which I just can't afford at the moment! Maybe at the weekend. It's my birthday as well.. :( Elvisfan4life -...

Eating everything in sight! Arrgghh! Stressy rant :(

Elvisfan4life - if these laxatives don't help then I will have to go back. I am getting so fed up of this. I try to get myself healthy and this is the thanks I get! I'm at my wits end. I don't know how a food diary will help as the problem is so delayed that it's impossible to link it to one...

Eating everything in sight! Arrgghh! Stressy rant :(

My Drs have all been pretty poor when advising about my diet. The last time I tried SW, a few years back, it made me constipated & my GP said that I had ibs that was made worse by fibre. He said stop the diet & do whatever it takes to get my body working again. I ended up putting on another...

Eating everything in sight! Arrgghh! Stressy rant :(

Unfortunately too much fibre upsets my IBS :( I can't seem to get the balance right. I've had to use some form of laxative since starting & it's really starting to get to me as I constantly don't feel well :( I feel sick again now as I've just downed another glass of laxido. I don't think I can...

Eating everything in sight! Arrgghh! Stressy rant :(

:( I am craving chocolate and crisps so bad! It's driving me mad! I've blown my syns. I was sick on Saturday (thanks to laxatives prescribed by my GP), I am in so much pain because of it. My poor ribs and muscles are all so sore! Ouch! Yesterday I just ate whatever stuck as I was still feeling...

    Iphone to Samsung>?

I had an awful time swapping iPhone to s4, I traded it in after 6 months & got a HTC instead! The s4 has had some problems with updates & I've had no end of problems with Samsung in general :( One thing I will say though is that if you do change from an iPhone to anything else & keep your old...

Finally got warned by my doctor to lose weight

I'm really sorry :( I think you might still be in denial. My Drs have been warning me for years that my weight puts me at higher risk of blood clots because of the pill & that I couldn't conceive because of it too! It's still taken me a while to get my head into the right place to lose weight...

    Fybogel & Activia

I think you should be ok. The only ones that should cause lazy bowel are the ones that force your muscles to work, like senna. My GP said lactulose wouldn't lead to a lazy bowel as it just absorbs water, fybogel is just a form of fibre so no different to eating a lot of scan bran :) I've been...

    Fybogel & Activia

I actually did that! The last 4 days, I've eaten nothing but junk & it did nothing :( Wish I hadn't now. I did call the pharmacist just to double check & they said it's ok too. The lactulose can cause diarrhoea though, whereas I'm assuming fybogel doesn't. I'm a dog walker so I can't be running...

Thanks Rae Rae! I'm so nervous about it not working. Thankfully I'm managing to go a little, but I feel 'full' all the time :( I tried to go last night & (sorry, tmi!) It just felt like whatever was there, was too big & hard.. which is why I thought the lactulose would help :/ My GP said it...

Thank you all! The activia are just the normal ones, so hopefully they're free. I'll check them later :) Increasing my superfree today to see if that helps. The fybogel hasn't quite kicked in. Now I've added lactulose as well! All this from some stupid antibiotics! Sent from my HTC One_M8...

    IBS and slimming world?

It's difficult to not get disheartened. I had a good first weigh in & then had to come off plan for 2 weeks to get my ibs sorted! Had a similar problem again just recently & I'm dreading WI later because I know I've gained! Once you get your IBS sorted, there'll be no stopping you! If it helps...

    Fybogel & Activia

Has anyone had to use fybogel while on SW? I'm doing extra easy (mostly because I can't get my head around red days!) & I have IBS. It flared up at the beginning & my GP prescribed me some lactulose. That was fab & really helped! My insides slowly got used to SW & everything was great. Then I...

My last weigh in, I was 15st 3.5lbs. I always psych myself out when I get close to getting into the 14st bracket :( My IBS has started playing up something rotten & I'm so scared of gaining tomorrow. I feel like I'll never reach 14 :'(

    IBS and slimming world?

I have IBS & I'm following Slimming World :) It is a struggle, to say the least! When to come off birth control..?

Hi all I was diagnosed with PCOS a good few years ago, I'd come off the pill to TTC & didn't have a period for months. My GP referred me to the fertility clinic, who ran lots of tests & that's what they came up with. Thankfully, I don't have any cysts, just an imbalance of my hormones. I...

    Starbucks Syns & HEX?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums & kinda new to Slimming World. I did it online a while back but am hoping to join a group next week! I've eaten my breakfast this morning & synned my milk cos I only had 200ml (skimmed milk). I've put that as 3 syns. Is that right? I really fancy a coffee &...
