So am due to start slim and save tomorrow. New year and new start. Am hoping for a good loss like when I did lighter life as am due to go on holiday to Florida in May and want to be happy with the pictures as won't be able to go again.

Feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement about starting again. Nervous as when I tried to do the Cambridge diet and lasted 3 days so want to stick with this one as feel it may be the only way l I'm going to lose the weight

Good luck hun!!

You'll find a way to make this diet work for you and slot into your life.

Happy New Year and we'll catch ya in the morning when you start your journey :) Xx

Good luck, get into the right mindset and you will breeze it x

So it's officially day one:

Weighed myself (sad times)

18st 7lbs

So need to start shifting this weight, was 17st 13lbs earlier in the year which isn't good hoping that I have a good first week and get close to that number again.

Good luck for day 1. Good thing is there's a lot of us about for support x

Hope today has been a breeze. I lasted about 4 days the last time I tried Cambridge. But I think all their packs are yucky - there's much more variety, and taste, with slim and save.

good luck! I'll be joining you in the morning when I start :)

Day one was hard!

Had an awful headache and was sick about 4 times throughout the day and night.

Nothing seemed to get rid of the headache and still have it this morning. Hoping it will ease as the day goes on.

Keep drinking water to try ease the headache, not sure why you're being sick but that won't be helping the headache situation x

I started CD at the beginning of November and became really ill after about 2/3 days and kept throwing up. I think I must have caught a bug at the same time as my immune system took a nap. I hope you feel better soon, keep getting fluids in you. A cup of tea cures all, or so my gran would have had you believe.x

I think I'm being sick because of the headaches. I suffer with migraine type ones and am often sick with them.

I was sick in New Year's Eve for an unknown reason so could be feeling run down as well. Am feeling a bit better today as have slept for the majority of it and have forced myself to drink more water. The water flavourings help, have had the peach one and put lots of ice in it and it tastes just the same as squash so it's nice to have a flavour.

An going to drink tea as well but need to get some sweeteners as can't stand tea without sugar but didn't want to brave the shops and fight temptation just yet.

Aww hun I'm so sorry to hear your sick. I hope it passes soon. Hugs xx

Not feeling as bad today, still have a headache though :(

Did anyone drink coke zero or tea with skimmed milk whilst on the diet and if so did it affect your weight loss?

I cant have tea without milk, and i drink loads of the stuff. I always have though, whether I was doing CD or s&s so I cant say I've noticed any difference, my losses always averaged out at a stone a month. And, I occasionally drank any diet juice, regardless of the citric acid in it. I'm not recommending that, but sometimes when out its hard to get coke zero in a pub etc.

It's just so I can have a taste of something different or something to give me a boost.

I used to drink a lot of diet coke and used it as my alternative to alcohol as I dont drink so was thinking it would be nice to have some after work as a pick me up.

I tried drinking black tea when I did lighter life a few years ago but it was a struggle so was thinking of using skimmed milk. I dot drink a lot of tea but from past experiences this sort of diet can make you feel cold and so tea is a nice way to warm you up.

I have tea and coffee every day and use skimmed milk and my losses are quite good x

Glad you're feeling better. I haven't had the milk this time as I'm really doing Lighter Life but I did enjoy my milky tea during my break so don't think I could ever give it up forever. I do think that not having it has made a difference to me mentally though. I had a lot of half hearted attempts when I wouldn't give up milk and then that turned into a daily cappuccino and then a bit of protein until it did start to affect my losses. I do find the hardcore approach works for me. I have a coke zero about twice a week though and a drink redbush tea with vanilla and a sweetener in when I want that warm feeling. It's different enough to black tea not to need the milk and I make a big mug of that and wrap my freezing fingers round it!!

The very first time I did the diet and lost a lot I was so strict on myself and didn't have anything I shouldn't have but each time I have attempted to do it since I last a couple of days and then cave so I'm hoping that this time if I can have the milk (skimmed) and only a small amount as I don't usually drink tea and the coke zero then it will help me stick with it as want to ideally be a size 16-14 for my Florida holiday in May.

I drink semi-skimmed milk in my tea/coffee because that's what we have at work. I don't know what the calorie difference is between skimmed and semi-skimmed milk, but I'm on 4 packs a day and figure the calorie increase from 4/5 cups of tea has to be less than 50. So I allow myself that. If I didn't, I wouldn't manage on any vlcd diet. I need my tea/coffee.
