hi guys new here thought id post a diary of how i will get on with this diet. i'm about 30% fat bmi and want to get under 24% im a young dad to 2 boys and really self concious i'm using this diet to strip my excess fat then go back to the gym and build my muscles! i've been training for ages but because the fat i just look bigger not much definition. i'm apprehensive because it took me a long time to get fit and having four months off training will hit my fitness big time but i know after i lose the weight ill probably find it easier to get my fitness levels back up.

any how i'm going on and on i've ordered my taster pack today i've asked for no soups or no mushroom meals as i probably wont like them. i've given myself a 4 month window to do this and after that all going well gonna follow a diet with high protein few carbs and no rubbish if i manage to lose the weight i never want to be fat again.

wish me luck and hopefully ill come thorough the other end skinnier, eventually healthier and hopefully other men in my situation can use my diary to help themselves. (sorry a bit optimistic but hopefully gonna happen.)

please add me and keep a eye on my diary i need all the help i can get lol
:wave_cry:

Why hello! Good luck! When are you looking to start?

Ive ordered today so probably saterday now. Eating what I can at moment lol. Know any good tips?
How long you been doing yours for?

I ate everything I could in the week leading up to starting! It was a complete binge! I started on the 2nd of January and I've not cheated yet. I've not always been super strict, as I've been out for dinner (but stuck to low carb/low fat) at nandos, and I'm out for dinner again next Tuesday at Giraffe. I use my fitness pal to keep track of my calories etc, but you really should use the meal tracker on the slim and save site if you are doing lifestyle - but I'm not super strict, so I don't always find the products I use on their site.

im a serial low carber so I'm pretty sloppy when it comes to using only allowed products - I have that "but I know best" opinion. Which is rubbish! Lol so I'm probably a bad person to give advice.

what I will say though is if you can do a few low carb days before hand it will make the transition into ketosis a bit easier, but if not it's no biggie. I usually find the first day is easy, because I will have stuffed my face silly the days before, so my body doesn't quite realise the calorie deficit right away! Days 2 and 3 are usually testing for me - it's that limbo between thinking I'm going to starve to death and ketosis kicking in. I usually get a thumping sore head. After that it's pretty easy. Once the first week and weekend is under your belt it's plain sailing!

drink plenty of water. At least 2 litres. But don't try to drown yourself in the stuff. That's equally bad for you!

Once youre in the zone it will be a breeze. Head daemons and social requests are the tests after the first week is done.

ive also found myself turning into a feeder. Because I can eat unhealthy things, I try and force my OH into having them. I think it's a combination of me wanting to smell the food and to have someone rose enjoy it - I get a weird satisfaction from that! Hahaha!

It's definitely the first week that's super hard and then the demon brain kicks in around week 3/4 with the pity me deprivation please let me eat naughty thoughts.

But as you'll read on here (-and these diaries are a great distraction and good motivation too!!) - there's some fab advice and thought provoking quotes!! - usually dear Clinquant is the best for inspiration (if you're reading this hun-you rock ;) !)

You'll do great - and you have a 4 month time frame so you can already see the light at the end of the tunnel in the distance.

I totally pigged out before I started. My body takes 6 days to get into ketosis and days 4 and 5 were haaaaaard! But most people are in it by day 4 and some lucky beggars by days 2 or 3!
But the people who are sensible and low carb a few days before they start do find the transition easier.
Carbs make you hungry.

Keep us updated on your progress. :)

I'm blushing Sammy. Not always inspiring but do try to be truthful and kind. It is really helpful on here whether you are struggling or trying not to bore friends and colleagues with your diet obsession.

I think it's definitely the right way to get the weight off and then concentrate on toning up. It's really hard to make headway with just gym alone and this is certainly the quick and dirty approach.

Good luck with it. :)
