56lbs to lose! one failed attempt at the Cmbridge diet will this work?!

Hi All,

Firstly let me say how brilliant i think this website is, really motivational and lovely to see how everyone encourage you!

I have 56lbs to lose to get down to my dream weight a weight that i never remember being! at my lightest i remembe being 10 stone 2lbs and yess still thinking i was fat!! CRAZY!

since meeting the new man and having the best year which unfortunatly ment eating alot im now 14stone!

just before xmas i started the cambridge diet, after seeing the success of my mum loosing 7 stone on the lighter lie diet i though why not! After feeling terrible three days in i unfortunatly gave up, everything i tried just made me absoloutly gag!

im looking for some advice please. my main questions being-

first week is it better to gocompletly on the slim and save packs and not have the protein meal or its ok to have for example a piece pof chicken at night??

ribena are you allowed??

diet coke again are you allowed and how much?

tip tops ive seen people are trying this out?? for me this would be great as it would feel like eating.

one bar per day?

How much water per day?


With 4 stone to lose how long typically should i expect this to take provided i have no major slipups? would like a target to work towards, say a break away hich im considering booking!

Is there anything you would advise doing before you start? My package should be coming today! :)

I did Cambridge before, lost 7st and gained it all back because I went back to eating the way I had before!

I'm on Slim and Save now and the shakes are not as nice as the Cambridge ones, in my opinion, but you might prefer them if you hated the Cambridge ones! This diet will work if you stick to it.

To your questions:

If you are prone to being lapse with weighing food etc., I would recommend starting off on 4 packs a day.

Ribena PLUS is allowed (not regular Ribena) and only the flavours that don't have citric acid in i.e. the blackcurrant one. And you can't just drink as much as you like - I'd recommend just one glass a day.

Diet Coke is not allowed as it has citric acid in - Coke Zero is allowed but again, try and limit it.

I'm not sure what 'tip tops' but it's best to check with Slim and Save if they are allowed.

Yes, only one bar per day.

At least 2l of water a day in addition to your shakes.

I have lost 4st in 14 weeks so I think that is achievable for you if you stick at it, although I have a lot more to lose than you so you may lose a bit slower than me.

I would advise gradually cutting down your carbs leading up to starting so that it's easier to get into ketosis.

I personally prefer this food to the CD food, but it's all down to taste. I would recommend buying the selection where they send you 28 different packs so that you can try out most of their flavours. You can also have a look at the description of the flavours (I think it's one of the stickys at the top) if you'd prefer to order specific flavours (you may want to do this if you're really picky).
