Jade's Getting Slim for Summer 2013

jadeelizabeth

becoming a happier, healthier me
The title says it all really... Every year it gets to the summer months and I sit on the internet dreaming of wearing all the lovely shorts, skirts and sleevless tops like my friends do, every year I wonder why yet again I still haven't lost the weight I've always wanted too.
I have been a member of Slimming World on and off since 2009 and I absolutely love it but always seem to fall of the wagon a month or so later and then the weight goes back on again.

But this is it, I've had enough and I'm getting slim for summer 2013!!! I will be writing in my food diary every day and hopefully reporting the losses at weigh in's on a Monday. Looking forward to receiving any comments or suggestions from you all...

Thanks hun, good luck on your weight loss journey! We'll be in those shorts in no time :)

I am also trying to get slim for the summer! Starting week 3 today and all going well so far! Keep up the good work your diary looks healthy and on track! :)

I can't wait for that feeling of reaching goal and finally being a happy healthy weight! any major tips for a newbie like myself? This weekend is St Patricks weekend so it will be my first weekend since starting to drink. think it is going to be a mad weekend so not sure what the best thing to do to keep in control? Not use my syns during the week or do the flexi syns (but i dont really understand it!)

Always have your 1/3 super free with every meal and ensure you have your hexa and hexb. I find writing a food diary helps me keep track of what I'm eating. It is a lifestyle change and not a diet so nothing is restricted as long as you syn it.

Save some of your syns for the weekend and try to stick to low syn options when drinking such as my fave which is vodka, lime and soda. What do you usually drink?

yeah I have been tracking online religiously and i think that is why it has going so well the last 2 weeks. I love wine but also drink vodka and diet coke. I'm 24 and my friends go out nearly every weekend so I wont to find a good balance of not missing out but still losing weight! I think snacking is a big problem for me...looking up online all the low syn treats :D Have you been doing SW for long? And what has been your biggest challenge? (if u dont mind me asking! )

It sounds like your heading in the right direction! As long as you stick to low syn drinks and try to stay away from post hangover munchies you'll be fine.

I have been doing SW on and off since 2009 and although I have dropped in weight since then I always seem to fall off the wagon.
I'm not sure on my biggest challenge so far but I find staying on track at weekends a challenge as there is always the lure of takeaways, nights out with friends, snacking, etc. I really prefer the routine of being at work as at the weekends I don't have a set routine.

How are you getting on so far hun?

So far so good! 8.5lbs in two weeks which I am delighted about but as I said nervous already for next week as I know this week will be a little nuts but I am planning in advance to save syns and to make sure I am well stocked up so no excuse for bad hungover food ha!

I completely agree, I find it much easier to stay on track during the week as I am so busy but I really have to plan ahead with my dinners as usually dont get home until after 7 and sometimes too tired to cook so I am making big batches and freezing!

I have a wedding on the first weekend in August and then 2 wedding early next year so have motivation and little goals! Have you anything coming up that you are aiming for to help?:)
