Claire Richards Slave to Food

I just saw the first episode of Claire Richards Slave to Food and wondered if anyone else had seen it?

It's Claire from Steps talking about her yo-yo dieting and trying to get it under control.

I recognised myself so much in her as she also is an emotional eater, she can lose weight but once she doesn't have a goal any more it all goes back on.

But one thing that struck me was how obsessed she was with her weight and it was pretty much the only thing in her life apart from her family. And I wonder if it's the same for me... I know I talk about my weight A LOT and probably bore everyone to death!

But it got me thinking... yes I want to lose weight and be healthy but there's more to life than that!

Yeah she was on Loose Women this morning looking good! I just hope she's sorted everything out and wont keep yo-yoing as it's really bad for your health.

I watched it a while ago and thought it was quite good. I love any food/diet shows though. I think she can be quite focused seeing as in her steps days she was a small size 10 and she can lose the weight when she wants to, as she has again. I keep thinking to myself - "theres worse things in life then being fat/a little chubby" If I never get past a size 12 so what? Also Im trying not to be too food focused either. Im trying to see food as something I need to keep myself going for fuel instead of a comfort/pleasure thing

I'm sure I saw an episode of this once. After deciding against cosmetic surgery, she invited some type of counsellor she found online to her home. He searched through all the cupboards and fridge and began by eating some of the dogs food (this made Claire heave). It was the funniest thing I ever saw, as he said it was the most nutritional thing she had in the house (including the food she fed the kids!)

Yeah it was quite funny when he ate the dog's food but he was right, it was the most nutritious food!

I saw this a good while ago and tbh I had no time for her at all and (sorry this is really un-pc) but I just wanted to slap her and tell he to get a grip And yes totally self obsessed, I remember her husband being a lovely chap. She can lose weight for a photoshoot, a tour, because she is being paid to or because she has a dvd to promote but at no point did she ever make any permanent lifestyle changes. So now I hear she has lost it again? What is she promoting this time round? It'll be interesting to see if she keeps it off this time but I'll be surprised if she does unless she has made some major changes.

Totally agree, she seems to have made a career of losing and gaining weight!

I watched the programme last year I think, and I thought the same she could lose when she needed to but not make lifestyle changes.

It made very interesting watching, a programme made when she isn't trying to lose weight would be good, I'd be interested in her opinions then.

I saw it aired the first time and had 50/50 feeling towards her. I'm like her re focusing on a goal and never planning the 'ever after' but I've never gone back to the weight I started.

She clearly never made any life style changes.

I think the worse celeb offender for making weight loss their career is Natalie Cassidy.

I read an online interview that she's losing weight this time to try to have another baby. Good motivation I guess but she should keep motivated to keep the weight off once she loses it. Its so easy to re gain weight lost.
