My Pregnancy Diary: Following SW

Hi Everyone,

I have been a member of this forum since I started SW back in March 2011, however I am hiding behind this username until I'm ready to tell the world of my pregnancy.

This will be our first born, God willing. We've been married for 6 years and only wanted to start trying to conceive until I got to a reasonable weight.

Start Weight: 22st 10lb.
Lowest Weight: 16st 12lb
Current Weight: 17st 2lb

I've only found out I'm pregnant and even though I've been on plan I've put on 4lbs over the last couple of weeks :-\ I'm hoping it's just hormones all over the place and bloating and that it'll come off. I still believe I can lose weight whilst pregnant because I still have over 5 stones to lose.

If you eventually do recognise who I am, please keep it to yourself. I'd appreciate your discretion until I'm ready to tell everyone.

I'm going to be doing Red Days most days and will post my food diary for you all.

I hope you can all join me on my quest to being healthy for me and my baby x
 
Hey! How are u finding SW while you're pregnant? I'll be really interested to follow how you are getting on. As I said in the other thread it's my hope to continue SW if I manage to ever get pregnant!! You have done so well with ur weight loss, must be hard getting your head around the fact that you will gradually gain!! Just think though whatever happens you'll still be in a better position than you were before you started and you'll have a beautiful bambino to show for it xx

It's only been 10 days that's ive known im pregnant hehe nothing has changed so far apart from the fact I've gained without a reason. Assuming that's just to do with major hormonal changes so I'm going to switch to weighing myself every 2 weeks instead of every week.

I still weigh a lot so would love to lose and maintain whilst pregnant and then get the whooper loss after delivery God willing! But taking it each day as it comes because I have no idea how or what symptoms I'll have the next day. So far I've been fortunate but it's only early days.. So who knows!

We waited 6 years before we even started trying for a child. I'm still 4 stones from target but didn't know how long it would take to get pregnant and I'm turning 30 this year so I didn't want to wait any longer.

But like you said, as long as I'm on plan throughout the pregnancy I will be better off by the time I've given birth :) will post my diary shortly x
 
Thursday 12 March
RED DAY

HexA1: almond milk
HexA2:
HexB1: oats
HexB2: sweet potato

Breakfast:
Porridge made with almond milk and a sachet of hot choc. (2)
Strawberries, raspberries and 1/2 grapefruit.

2 clementines

Lunch:
Mushroom soup
2 boiled eggs

Dinner:
Spiced sweet potato chips
Peri peri chicken (1)
Salad
 
So I've gained, again this week. 3 lbs.

I gained a lb last week :( last week I was 100% on plan and this week I just had 1 day off but that wouldn't have caused such a big gain.

I'm just approaching my 6 week mark now.

At this rate I'll be back to 22 stone 10.

Im just praying it's just hormones and bloating that's causing the gains. Because it's unexplained.

I'm going to start walking or doing the walking with Leslie videos again when I go to mums tomorrow.

My meals are fine and on plan. I know that.

Part of me thinks, stop being stupid. You're eating healthily and don't be obsessed with your weight now that you're pregnant- that was the end goal.. To get pregnant and you've achieved that.

But part of me is so scared that I'm going to gain a lot of weight.

Not weighing now until I get back from mums in 2 weeks. Would love to have lost the 4 lbs I've gained but les see...

*sigh*
 
Hey, I totally feel for you. I think you're just going to have to have faith in the plan. I'm sure that you will still be losing fat but it's maybe masked on the scales by other things. Perhaps as some parts of you get bigger you might notice other parts of you getting smaller? You might be one of these people that loses all the weight plus more after you've delivered?

Might be worth joining a SW class and having the benefit of the support and advice from your class leader through the pregnancy? Might help you to not feel so discouraged!

You are right though, you are eating healthy food so don't be disheartened.
Only other thing I can think of is to make sure you have all your syns, they are there for a reason and seem to help with loses. Noticed you only had 2 yesterday.

I'm really praying for that my love lol yeah I tend to not have that many syns before weigh in but I'm having a slight cheat meal tonight so it'll make up for it! I don't always have a cheat meal every week, I have my sister coming over tonight so we're going to an afghani restaurant. Will have grilled meats and salad

Thank you for your support. I must must remember that as long as I stick to plan the weight will come off. It has too. It's science!

You're doing wonderfully so please don't feel disheartened. You're providing yourself and the baby with good healthy food but I second Bursting, do try and have your syns. I love the sound of your meal tonight - I hope you have a lovely time with your sister.

Whenever we go out to eat (even if it's a "cheat meal" we always go to a grilled meats place.. It's a lot healthier than having chips and a burger for sure because the only syns will come from the oil.. And we always have a salad with it. Love grilled meats and salad

Yesterday ended up like this:

Breakfast:
HexB toast (1.5 syns for marg)
Onion and coriander scrambled eggs
Radish

Sugary Strawberries + raspberries (1 syn)

Ice Lolly (3)

Lunch:
Cheesy chips (hexA)
SW chicken doner
Salad

Dinner:
Afghani restaurant dinner
Ice cream for dessert

Yesterday was a treat meat last night so back on it today.
 
Oh God, what's wrong with me. I'm not usually this stressed about losing weight but for the last few days I've been so worried. And it needs to stop.

I'm going to my mums today and will be back a day before my scan which is on the 26th.

I'm not weighing myself for the next 2 weeks now because I won't have a scale at mums so I'll miss Friday's weigh in.

I don't plan to have any cheat meals now until I'm back but I am so stressed about it.

Before anyone tells me anything, I know this bloating is normal and it may or may not settle down in the next few weeks. And I know I shouldn't be concerned with the scales now because I'm pregnant and as long as I'm eating heathy throughout the pregnancy it'll be fine once the baby is here God willing.

... But I am *sigh*

I need to just have 2-3 weeks on being completely on plan and lose this bloated weight. I honestly don't mind gaining weight. Just not this early on.

I've read so many stories about women losing weight during pregnancy and I want to be one of them too. I still have 4 stones to target.

Maybe it's hormones making me super nervous. But from tomorrow I'm going to start going for walks at mums. 45 mins at least and make sure I'm 100% on plan.

Just need to get a grip and get on with it.
 
Have a lovely time at your mum's. You're not being daft at all. Lots of changes and you're going from a place where you've had lots of control to a position that must feel like you have less control of your body. Can totally understand why you are feeling anxious xx

That is EXACTLY how I feel. Thank you so much... Honestly, you have put my feelings in to words I couldn't find.
 
Just subscribing...i hope you have a lovely time at your mum's and i hope you can soon relax...sure once you've got your first picture of your little "bean" will make all the weight worry go away! I didn't gain that much weight whilst i was pregnant but i did have dreadful morning / all day sickness and to be honest i would have rather gained weight than suffer like i did! What really helped was breastfeeding ;-)

I think you're right. My next scan will be exciting. I'll be 7 weeks so hoping we can see the heartbeat

Egg mayo sandwich (3)
Biscuit (10)
Latte (hexA)

Dinner:
Boiled rice
Daal
1/2 plate salad leaves

I feel really nausea tonight. A lot.. I've just come in to my 6th week so maybe it's the beginning of the sickness...

Happy today was on plan though.

2 cracker bread (2 syns)

Yogurt

Eton mess with strawberries and vanilla yogurt (2.5 syns)

Dinner:
2 Yorkshire puddings (5)
Nandos peri chicken (1)
Roasted sweet potato and veg

Fruit plate:
Grapes, Sharon fruit, kiwi, banana
(All non speed I realised afterwards!)

Total syns: 12
 
Monday 16 March

Breakfast:
Oniony scrambled eggs
Radish
HexB toast (1.5 SYN for marg)

1/2 melon
Almonds (3 syns)

Lunch:
Chicken and cheese salad (hexA+1)

Dinner:
Chicken curry
Brown rice
Salad

Crisps (4)
Yogurt
Alpen light bar (1/2 of second hexB)
Clementine
Apple

Total syns: 9.5
