Slow but sure....
Hash Browns


Ingredients:-

2lb/800g Potatoes
6 Spring Onions
1 Egg, beaten
1 tsp Oregano
Salt and Pepper


Method:-

Peel and coarsely grate the potatoes, squeeze out as much liquid as possible and place in a bowl.

Chop the spring onions, add to the potato with the egg, oregano and seasoning then mix.

Divide the hash browns into 8 and chill for 20 minutes,

Spray a frying pan with fry light and working in batches fry the hash browns for around 10 minutes each side until lightly browned and cooked through.

Oh lovely! I have tried making hash browns before but i couldnt get enough liquid out and they went all soggy and a dodgy colour lol. May give this another shot at some point!
 
To get rid of the liquid, put the grated veg into a clean tea towel and then twist it round to enclose the veg and squeeze really hard. I find it works all the time.

Thats what happened to me last time I tried to make something similar. It never occured to me to really get AS MUCH liquid out as possible. Now I know!!!! :)
 
i can never get them to bind! I put them in the frying pan and then i cant get them to flip!
 
tried these again tonight with all your lovely tips and they can out beautifully!!! Nice work!
 
Mmm now I am doing EE, I may make a batch up tonight and fry tomorrow morning for brekkie with bacon / sausage!!! Mmmmm xx
 
these sound fab, going to attempt them tomorrow for me and my boyf as we always have a nice big brunch on a wednesday :D x
