I haven't a clue what any of them are haha, but it's always quite easy to try and make SW friendly dishes from editting recipes. For example, I just googled the Golumpi and found this recipe. Everything in the recipe is free on extra easy apart from the cream so you could try making it and sustituting the cream for something else.. maye Fromage Frais? Or if you really wanted to use the cream you could just work out how many syns that might be :)

Just a suggestion! :)

Thanks Toni xxx looks about right lol xx Think Im in an uninspired mood today! Even the kids have had chicken nuggets :sigh:.
Need a kick up the old!!
Love your blingy thingies and stuff btw x

Hi MidLifeCrisis :)
I would say this is the way i would make them :) Polish Stuffed Cabbage Recipe - Recipe for Polish Golabki or Stuffed Cabbage This is a really good recipe,i wish i could be with you and help you with them,i know how hard is to make something you don't really know how it should really look and taste like :) But,anyway, you still remember them so maybe it won't be that hard to you :) They are totally SW friendly, just use Total 0% or fromage frais instead of cream and that's it :) I don't use it with gołąbki at all.

Pierogi are very nice, that's right, but unfortunately not good for us :( Forget about them, sorry :D

Bigos, after few changes could be all right, but if you want it to be really tasty then it's ... not SW friendly i'm afraid. Check this recipe out My mother's BIGOS recipe - Home Cooking - Chowhound This is how I would prepare it. No prunes, stock and wine though.

If you need to know something else let me know - i'm Polish :)

Oh god I love Pierogi I wish they were syn free lol.

Really Appreciate your help, thanks xxx I'll definitely keep you in mind ;) any idea what the 'leaf and potato' soup could be?????

Hi,

I make a kind of bigos. I do it in the slow cooker with a tin of tomatoes, sauerkraut, onion, garlic, bay leaf, lean pork, and then a weighed amount of Polish sausage (synned). It makes a whole pot full which does me and my boyfriend two big meals each, at 4 syns a portion as everything is free except for the sausage. I know its not a traditional recipe but its similar and tastes good (although not as good as his mums!)

Also borscht is lovely and with a few tweaks to how you make it, its syn free.

Again you can make a version of golabki slimming world friendly by just altering slightly.

Pierogi mmmm:eatdrink051: delicious but definitely cant be made syn free. You could make them lower syn by using syn free drained cottage cheese instead of the Polish white cheese, but you're still going to have to syn the flour in the dough. (When we're in Poland in a couple of weeks i'm going to just pretend they are syn free for a week!!

HP xx

I seem to remember having some potato croquettes at a Polish cafe in Acton. Mind you they were big beasts and obviously fried in oil but I know there is an instant mash croquette recipe on this site. Not sure what syns they are and the Polish ones were in breadcrumbs - I guess that could be a healthy B??? Would be delicious with sauerkraut and the beet/horseradish concoction I mentioned.
