Hi, anyone got a recipe for SLOW COOKER pulled pork?

I made the recipe on the sw website in the oven and it was nice but all the sauce dried up, was i suppose to leave some and mix it with the shreaded pork at the end?

Has anyone got any pther recipes for the sauce other then the one on the website?

Add a little more passata, that might help.

I made the recipe in the link above and cooked it in my slow cooker. It was delicious and there was loads of sauce, in fact I'm using the spare sauce tomirrow with chicken and rice, it's too nice to throw away:)

I'm just making this now and it's really hard to get off all the fat from the pork. I've gotten the main fat off but cannot be bothered to do this for the whole piece - it's too marbled! So going to use a different cut of pork next time. On the Facebook Slimming World Slow Cooker group, someone's suggested adding a tsp of Chinese 5 spice to the sauce and, as I love 5 spice, I've done it and it smells lovely.

Anyway, sauce finishes simmering in 5 mins and then it's going in the slow cooker. Quite excited! :)

I'm making this this weekend, just got all the ingredients together! Bought a nice shoulder of pork, just hope I can adequately remove all the fat!

Did you sear the pork first or put it straight into the slow cooker? Did you retain all the juices in the sauce when serving? (does much fat come off in the sauce at all?) I have seen a few variations of the recipe where the bbq sauce is added to the pork once 'pulled' and cooked.

Here's my version!

Pete’s Pulled Pork
(2014)
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 Onion, finely chopped (s) (sff)
1 Tbsp. Tomato purees (s) (sff)
1 Tbsp. Smoked paprika
2 Tbsp. Worcester sauce
3 Garlic cloves, finely chopped (sff)
3 Tbsp. Sweetener
3 Tbsp. Cider vinegar
400g Chopped tomatoes (s) (sff)
1 Kg Aldi Pork shoulder joint (ff)
Slow cooker

Method

In a small saucepan, sprayed with frylight, cook the onion & garlic until soft.
Add the other ingredients, bring to the boil then reduce the heat & cook until it thickens up, stirring from time to time. Using a hand blender, reduce to a smooth sauce, when thickened, set aside.
Pre-heat the slow cooker.
Carefully remove the meat from the package, remove & keep the string loops, cut off all the fat that you can from the meat, replace the string loops.
In a hot large frying pan sprayed with frylight, brown the meat all over.
Pour a layer of the sauce in the base of the slow cooker, place the meat on top, pour the remaining sauce over the meat, place the lid on the slow cooker & switch to “low” then cook for at least 6 Hrs until the meat can be pulled apart with a pair of forks.
