I'm new to SW & just made 2 recipes. However I'm a new mum & my daughter is 9 months. I'm finding it hard to cook from scratch as it's tiring enough with a baby

any mums on here can give me any tips?

Use shortcuts like frozen onions and peppers, you can just throw what you need in and put the bag back in freezer.

Cook bulk, I make a Bolognese and cook extra pasta which I mix together and freeze ready to just microwave

Hey I have a little one also he is almost 4 months old now. I am exactly the same!
Have found bulk cooking handy as can then freeze a load of portions for further days and also enjoy things like jacket potatoes/ pepper stuffed with cous cous and stir frys. I am always trying to come up with more ideas of something different but quick to try. I have recently tried the taco chicken from the layest mag which was delicious and the bacon tagliattelle from the magazine before both of these were quick to make and tasty too x

Frozen fruit n veg!!! I buy all my fruit frozen now and veg, it's just easier and means I know I always have something! X

I would agree with the frozen onions I think they are the best invention ever, another tip would be making meals up in advance, or using a slow cooker I have a 2 and 6 yr old and it is my life saver :)

I have a 3 year old and an 11 month old baby. I use my slow cooker an awful lot - that way I can pop it all in whilst my baby naps in the morning and then it's ready for when they go to bed in the evening. I have also found the thread on here 'meals with minimum ingredients' has loads if quick, easy and delicious recipes. I do find writing a weekly meal planner really helps me too x

When you bulk cook do you make extra pasta/rice too to freeze or just the meal itself then boil the pasta or rice as needed? Also, can you re-heat the meals from frozen or do you need to defrost first?

I cook the rice/pasta etc separately and just defrost and heat meat in the microwave x You can freeze rice and pasta though (potatoes don't work so well ) as I freeze individual meals for my children.

This is great, I use frozen veg too, it's definitely harder with a baby as you shouldn't give them low fat versions of anything which is all that I am buying for me! I buy the McCain's frozen jacket potatoes too, only 1 syn each (on EE last time I checked) and they taste sooo much better then a fresh one!

Also may be worth writing lists around what supermarket you shop in as can get different own brand low syn tins/frozen foods as they are a time saver too :)

Oh i know how u feel its hard finding time to cook with wee ones mines r 16 month and 16 week lol theres been alot of easy quick recipes ive came across here like a simple curry where u just fry off ur chicken mix 2 chicken oxo cubes in a cup with quarter of the cup being water add tbsp curry powder or more if u like some soy sauce mix it together and throw it in ur pan then get a weight watchers coconut greek style yoghurt (1/2 syn) and mix that in let it bubble a bit then simmer... super quick!
