Hi

i joined SW online yesterday.

i can't find the answer to this anywhere. I know when I cook the roast chicken I should not add fat and I must the skin of to eat it. But can I cook the roast potatoes in with the chicken, basting them in the chickens natural juice/fat.

tha ks :)

i would imagine not.

probably best to cook separately with a spritz of fry light, salt and pepper.

have a lovely lunch.:)

iIwouldn't. The potatoes will absorb the fat and would then have to be synned. You can make amazing roasties with fry light. Would highly recommend some roasted carrots as well, almost like eating sweeties (for me anyway). Enjoy your dinner x

Yeah, you can't use any fats to cook your chicken, I use fry light on mine to make it crispy as other people do still like to eat the skin and then do my roast potatoes as suggested by others, using fry light in a seperate tin.

You also cant use the juices from your chicken to make gravy (well you can but you would have to syn it :) )

For my roasties I par boil the potatoes, and kinda rough them up in the pot. Spray them with fry light and sprinkle on some rosemary, sea salt and pepper. Put some whole garlic cloves in with them too! Amazing!!!

Thanks ladies I have cooked potatoes seperate in fry light. Just waiting for husband to come home from work now and we can eat it can't wait I'm starving :)
