Omg I've done these for tea ,... Gorgeous I suppose you could do a few days worth saves time and money ?

Sounds good to me, how long did you do them for. Could freeze them I suppose.

I usually buy McCains jackets but it works out £1 each and I never remember to put fresh ones in the oven - take too long.

Hiya , just put as many as you want in tin foil pricking them first , and put them in Slow cooker on low for six to eight hours x

I have today bought some Jacket size spuds. I am definitely gonna try that tomorrow. I will freeze one and see how it is after a couple of days. I am one of those people that if they are in the fridge I am likely to eat them.

Thanks for this tip Jullianna

Love chicken done in my slow cooker, really need to try jacket spuds :) I used to work in a kitchen and we would get frozen jackets which we just popped in the oven for about 30 mins. Don't know if that helps at all!!!

Well I did 3 jackets in the slow cooker. I did turn to high for the last hour as I was impatient. They are very good. As I had just had dinner I just had a 1/4 of one of them. What is left is going in the fridge for tomorrow. The other 2 when cooled are going in the freezer minus the foil. With McCains jackets you put them in the microwave from frozen for 5mins. (1syn) On Wed I will try one of the frozen ones.

Can I ask, when you put chicken, potatoes etc in slow cooker, do you put liquid in?
I always wanted a rotisserie but can't afford it, it sounds like I can do a whole chicken in the slow cooker just as good, what about a pork joint for pulled pork?

I haven`t done pulled pork yet.
I have cooked a whole chicken in the slow cooker with no liquid. I was advised to put a couple of balls of foil under the chicken - not sure why but I did. It came out so tender it was beautiful. Of course it is not brown but you could put it in oven for a short time to brown it off.

You don`t need to take the skin off before you could it. Any juices in the bottom may have fat in it. You could leave it to go cold, take any fat off and use it towards gravy.

Hope that helps.

Last weekend I put a chicken in the slow cooker on top of some quartered onions, just so it wasn't sitting in the fat/juices, put half a lemon inside the carcass and put it on low for 6 hours or so. It was so much better than an ordinary roast as the meat was so juicy and tender.

I've also done pulled pork many a time in there. The best one was probably just with a herb/spice rub and left again on low for at least 6 hours. Took all the fat off before hand and it was still really juicy. Have also done it with the SW BBQ sauce and it was still good but I prefer to add my sauce after it's been pulled.

I usually buy the small crackling joints from Sainsbury because its easier to cut all the fat from the top of them.

I do ham joints in mine all the time and never put any liquid in with it. I've also done a beef joint and a pulled pork (I used a loin joint). The meat just falls to bits. Never tried a chicken though
