Slow cooker advice

Can you cook a chicken or a pork joint in the slow cooker without having to add a stock, like pulled pork etc

I just sit my chicken/joint on a couple of chunky cut onions or carrots or you can used scrunched up silver foil. Season and cook,no liquid needed. Hope that helps :)

That does yes, I'm going to try it this weekend
Is the foil balls to stop the meat sitting directly on the bottom

I do ham joints all the time with no liquid. Have also done a beef joint - meat just fell to bits was lovely. Did the pulled pork joint from a recipe either on here or SW website and that was lush too

I leave meat in all day - it cant dry out so the longer the better
