TOP 5 MEALS

Hi all

I've just started a SW class and I'm thinking if I can master 5 main meals and 5 lunches then I can't go wrong.

So what's in your top 5?

Good luck with slimming world!

My top 5 teas are probably:
Chilli and rice
Pasta bake (tomato based or macaroni cheese)
Spaghetti bolognese (master this and its very versatile)
Gammon, sw chips, egg and beans (substitute with carrot chips/BNS for super free)
Fajita spiced veg (& chicken) with salad and rice

Lunches
Omelette stuffed with super free- onion, mushroom, peppers, tomatoes
Slimming world quiche- as above but in slices with salad
Jacket potatoes with various fillings & salad
Homemade soup
Sandwich/mugshot with fruit & yoghurt

It depends usually on if I'm doing green or EE, and what Hexs I have used already!

My favourite lunches are nearly the same as rosiepops.

Jacket and beans/tuna
Veggie omelette
Sw quiche
Hm soup
Veg sticks dipped in syn free cottage cheese

My favourite teas are

Mushy pea curry with sw chips/rice
Sw kebabs and cous cous
Sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice
Diet coke chicken and egg fried rice
Spaghetti bolognese.

I struggle a bit for lunches and tend to have the same things. Good luck on your sw journey xx
 
I struggle with breakfast and lunch but my top 5 teas are:

Spag Bol
SW meatballs
Fajita chicken with sweet potato wedges and corn on the cob
Chicken, bacon, leek, sweetcorn and mushroom risotto
Chicken chow mein

All recipes on slimming world website
 
Will be trying some of these!

I love risotto - syn free and very filling
Baked potato and beans - syn free, filling and quick and easy

Am getting there, thanks for your ideas.

My top 5 main meals are

-Salmon, broccoli, new potatoes, samphire and 1 tblspn SW chilli sauce -2 syns

-Nigella's bacon burgers (easily adapted to SW, extra lean mince beef, 1 tblspns each of Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and 0% Greek yog) topped with smoked bacon, sliced tomatoes, frylighted onions and mushrooms and 2 slices of 'plastic' cheese! -A choice

-Chicken fajitas; marinate cubed chicken in lime juice, 1 teaspoon mixed herbs, cumin, ground coriander and half a teaspoon of smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Frylight onions and peppers and serve with a Bfree wrap (B choice) 0% Greek yog, homemade syn free salsa and A choice of cheese (I then have another Bfree wrap as they come in at 5 syns!)

-BBQ pulled pork -recipe on SW website

-Tuna spaghetti with olives -frylight chopped onion, big handful frozen peppers, add tin tomatoes, tin of tuna, 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar, teaspoon mixed herbs, salt and pepper and a ladle of the pasta cooking water, once the pasta's cooked. Serve with the cooked spaghetti and 8 chopped olives (1 syn) I also add a few drops of Tabasco -you could add dried chilli flakes with the tomatoes if cooking for adults not children ?
 
For me I'd say:

Quorn Chilli
Diet Coke Chicken
Chicken or Fish Stir Fry
Oven roasted Mediterranean balsamic veg with either chicken, fish or pasta
Baked Bean Chilli
 
Well for me it would have to be:

Roast Dinner, with Roast Potatoes, steamed potatoes and veg
SW Chips with Quorn Burgers in HEB Wholemeal Rolls with Salad and Fried Onion (Frylight)
Chilli Con Carne with Rice and/or Chips
Honey Chilli Quorn Chicken with Wholemeal Noodles and Stirfried Vegetables
Speed Soup - before SW I would never eat soup but this is definitely a favourite now
 
Can I have the receipe for the honey chilli quorn please?

Hey yes, well I usually mix 10 teaspoons soy sauce with 2 teaspoons of runny honey an add chilli flakes. I stir fry veg with the quorn chicken whilst power boiling to noodles for 4 mins. I add the noodles to the veg then mix in the soy sauce and honey mix. It gives it a lovely thick sauce :)
 
Top 5 lunches EE

Veg frittata sprinkled with low fat cheese (HEXA) and salad - free
Prawn tom yum soup (recipe on SW website)- free
Baked potato with tuna peppers, sweet corn and 0% fat free Greek yoghurt - free
Minced pork with lots of diced veggies, soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce, wrapped in lettuce - 1 syn
Sardines in tomato sauce, 4 Ryvita, no fat cottage cheese and tomato and cucumber salad - free

Top 5 dinners EE

Slow cooked lamb shanks in redwine and rosemary with mashed potato and veg - 1/2 syn
Green curry chicken with green veg and rice - 3 syns
SW burger and chips roasted with garlic and rosemary or thyme -free
Phad Thai with tofu - 1 syn
Prawn, zucchini chilli and garlic linguini (with a dash of quark) -free
