Looking for Lunch ideas

I am looking for ideas, I am based in a location where there is no microwave. Bread doesn't seem to like me :( and I am a bit sick of eating mugshots & fruit constantly. I don't eat cheese either.

Can anyone give me ideas of things that I could make that could be eaten cold?

If you take a look, Vahevala, you'll find a thread totally dedicated to lunch ideas. Good luck on finding something that takes your fancy! :)

I have a food flask which I sometimes use. It was £10 in Asda. I heat up my food in the morning (usually the nigh before's left overs), pop it in the flask and it's still pretty hot by lunch time. Other than that I usually have things like pasta salad followed by fruit at work, and always keep alpen bars handy.

I often take a flask of homemade soup.

Also I often layer a tub with rice or potato salad at the bottom, then sliced ham or turkey, or salmon, and sometimes a cold boiled egg, with mixed salad leaves on the top and a little dressing :)

I do something very similar. You could also try it with ebly (pure durum wheat) which you can buy from waitrose. Makes a really nice change from rice or pasta, but still that carby goodness you need to fill you up!

Thanks amybee, I use pearl barley or couscous as well sometimes :)

Curry loaf, nice hot or cold!

I've just had mushy pea curry. I'm fed up of salads so I thought I'd give it a go with the mind set that it's going to be awful. OMG!!! How wrong was I?? Made in about 20 mins and put some to cool so I can take to work for my lunch tomorrow. Really really nice with potato wedges to dunk in

So sorry just read the bit at the bottom of your post about having cold lunches
