Okay so anyone is more than welcome to join me! But if not...well I'll be logging in my miles every day that I run and seeing how well I do!

I want to run 100 miles and do it by Christmas. Eek! I am trying to get back into running 5 miles every day that I do run, but I've just switched to treadmill running which is so much harder than running outdoors. At moment I can do 3 mile stints, so I'm getting there! Treadmills are boring! But I don't like running in the dark :)

So by midnight 24th December I want to clock 100 miles. 15 miles a week= Should only take 7 weeks!

Anyone else up for a challenge?!!? :D first run is tomorrow!

EDIT:

so this thread is now for the Running Team. Anyone can join, for those who run with friends or run alone and need support and to share their achievement. Runaholics Anonymous! ;)

Run 100 miles

Still hurt from cycling yesterday so only managed a poxy mile! However I ran it to beat my fastest when I realised I wouldn't manage much more. And I beat my PB!

9 minutes 30 seconds :D formerly 9:48. Yippee!

Total Miles for Challenge: 5.85mi

Just popping in to say hi!
I just started back running last week after a break due to I jury so I'm finding it a struggle but loving it as us runners do!

I've always been a slow runner and last time I went with a running group I was running 9 min miles but I couldn't put weight on my knee for days so I'm on my own so to speak, I asked a friend who loves to run to come and she spurs me on but has a similar pace which is great!

We did 3.29 miles last tues and 3.6 today, hope to share running stories with you!

Lucy x

Run 100 miles

Hi Lucy! Yay someone who doesn't yawn when I talk about running!

Oh my...9 minute miles?!!! I can't imagine running that fast...9.30 was incredibly hard for me..but like you may relate to when I started at 13.30mpm I didn't see how I could be faster then either :)

I'm struggling lately with stamina. I think I keep picking bad times if the day to run. Either too early in the morning before I've properly woken up and eaten...or too soon after a heavy meal.

So my aim is to think more about pre-running nutrition I think! And plan the days and times I run to help prepare :)

SO, tomorrow am aiming to run 4 miles, at about 9.30pm with my friend on treadmill. First time we're running at a gym and hopefully she helps spur me on. We are used to running outdoors together and most we've done is 4 miles side y side. So we are aiming to get to half marathon standard by February.

Have you any tips for long distance? I know I need to pace myself and not run my fastest, just run for distance and not worry about how quick it is. I find this tough as I always want to be to standard!

Don't think for one minute that I enjoyed running at that pace, it was the first mile of 4 and it made the rest of the run hard as my knee gave up!

I've got hyper mobility in my joints so basically i need to strap my knees so that they stay in position to run but during running I can feel them starting to hurt so that's a sign to walk for a bit.
It does stop me from doing Long distance, most I've ever run is 10k and that took me about 70mins so I am a slower runner!

As for times I'm very limited as hubby works shifts and I'm at home with the little one at night so at the moment I finish work at 3 whilst he's in nursery and go then, that's on a tues but hopefully we will also go thurs, can't imagine running at 9.30 though, I'm tucked up in bed by then ;)

For me my goal is to run 5k with no walk breaks by Xmas, after that a slow increase in mileage would be great but I take each run as my last as once my knee goes I'm out of action for a while :(

Run 100 miles

Haha, yeah I didn't enjoy the 7 miles an hour I did today! I only lasted 1 1/2 miles, silly me! I'm gonna head to gym again Wednesday night so I think I'll stick to 6mph and try get a decent 4 miles in for once! Typical me, trying to go as fast as I can!

Total miles: 7.35 miles

Oh and I found out I have a week's holiday in three weeks time...I shall be taking full advantage of my days off to try bridge the gap in my 100 miles challenge! So far I'm not doing great! :p

Still I think the idea is fab and your attempting it which is great!

Should be running at 3 today, bit scared as yesterday I had some serious thigh muscle ache, I'm lying in bed so I've no idea how it even is today!

I'm also looking into some new way to support my knees as I'm using tape but it's costing about £2 per run, that's no good for me!!!!

X

Run 100 miles

3.16 miles in 35 mins tonight with a mahoosive hill that we will conquer by Xmas!!!!!

Wow Lucy go you that's amazing! I'm weirdly looking forward to running tomorrow night! I was on a broken treadmill last night which put me off so tomorrow I'm gonna pick wisely! Lol.

Aiming for 3.1 miles in 30 minutes :) will be the most I've done for a few weeks! No inclines for me as I hate them ha!

I'm ok with hills, it's going down I hate! I've ordered some new tape for my knees so hopefully that will keep me pain free,

I look forward to running, hate parts when you feel you can't go on and then surprise yourself!

We braved the wind and rain and it turned out not too bad. A slow run tonight as my tape didn't stick today so I had no support for my knee at all. I'm glad I've ran without it but we will see the effects tomorrow!

As I say, a slow run but a good 3.9 miles in 45 mins.

Run 100 miles

Horrific run at the gym - think I'm just too stressed at the moment, my head wasn't in the game at all :(

3 miles ran though

10.35 miles run out of 100 ! Lol

I feel your pain, I went out on my own sat but something wasn't working, whether it was a new route, new tape or just that I was on my own but a very slow 2.5 miles! Hubby said at least I went whilst was good considering he was drinking beer whilst watching rugby at the time! ;)

3.37 miles in 35.42 yesterday, really wasn't feeling like I could run after Sat's miserable attempt so I was pleased when we were pulling an average if 10.36 min miles!

Knees are feeling it but I'm taking each run as my last and just seeing how they go, how are you getting on? X

oo i wish i had your will power! i am rubbish at running- but enjoy doing it... i started in the summer going out jogging and doing about 3 miles 2/3 times a week with the hope that i would start to add more miles on and then i jsut gave up and now its getting colder and darker i keep putting it off! i really need to start doing it!... it took me nearly 45 mins to job 3 miles then after 2 weeks down to 30 then i stopped! so would now prob take me 1 hour ha!

keep up yoyur good work!.. i will start jogging/running again one day!"

Best thing I ever did was get myself my route planned and a really good playlist and just went running, the worst bit was the build up and all the thinking about it but as soon as I started I was enjoying it! X

how are you finding it now the weathers getting worse and dark, i sometimes wonder if i would be best getting up and doing a run before work around 6:30am.. or if it would be better straight from work so about 6pm! ... but when i get home from work and its cold all i want to do it put a big jumper on and cuddle up on sofa! ha = lazy

A LOT harder to get motivated! I'm limited to when I can run with looking after my 2 yr old so I'm lucky to fit in a run in a tues at 3pm, my next run may not be until next tues as we didn't go last night.
